The northern hemisphere hardcore RC guys should rent a huge place down there for the winter months to have fun with the hobby in a collective way ... would love to do something like that when in retirement ... with a big RC work/repair-shop (electronics & mechanics) ... and lessons taught by pros like both of you?
And maybe vice versa for RC pilots from down under coming to some beautiful warm southern European place with mostly good weather like e.g. Portugal?!

My Matek F405 is on its way.....Thanks to Lee ...Keith and Andrew....job done .
Most planes don't need a stabiliser. OSD and RTH and filtered BECs are why I like FCBs

I've been flying the Opterra 1.2m flying wing, I'm definitely giving the Sonic Modell AR Pro a go.. Nice maiden, by the way, she really flies very smooth...

Bruce did a piece on flying wings a couple years ago I think, he said to stop the wobble they ideally should have wing fences running over the wing, from the leading edge over and under the surface to about halfway. It helps direct more airflow to the back of the wing, you see them on old swept wing fighter jets like the Sabre and Migs. Wonder if it would be worth giving that a go?

Thank you, I thought I was the only one seeing the wobble. Its bad, I don't see how one would fly it as a FPV without getting airsick. I got nauseous just watching the video. Anything you do to correct it is going to be a kludge and will ruin the efficiency. Also, the wing fences should start behind the CG.

I noted that even during level flight, both ailerons are continually up. You did say you had set the CG on the back of the pips. Perhaps it needs to be set further forward.....
Another excellent vid! Just purchased this wing and have been doin lots of research on it. A lot of the vids i have seen by other creators have seemed to have issues with the maiden, but then again they were going full gear with the FC's and cams. One maiden i seen buddy had maybe user issues with the FC and broke up his on launch. I really like how easy this flies right out of your hand on manual inputs, say what half throttle? Just subbed
I always fly manual and LOS first. Asking for trouble if you try to maiden with FC. Launch with just above half throttle works well for me.

It's quieter but not as smooth a flier, but more pockets to mount components.

I'm using INAV and I need to add the recommended 5mm reflex to keep the nose up. How should I go about this in INAV? Use the trim in INAV? Thanks for any help.
Best way is to shorten the push rods. Or adjust the servo midpoints in INAV outputs page.

Maybe 3mm initially then reduced it to zero
Well 3.5 amps cruising on a 72 g sunnysky motor but you need a lot of nose weight (go-pro + lead) to achieve CG. Seems like the kit with a quad 2508 1275 KV or 1700 KV (40 ish grams) would sort out that issue. Make for a lighter plane & probably be as or maybe even more efficient. Kit added to my future plane list now.

Andrew I got a ar wing pro to replace my ar900 but I ordered the kit with no electronics... would you know if the kit comes with servo linkages or not? Hope my racerstar airb 2514/1498 on 5 or 6s will be okay for the pro
Should include linkages, and your motor will be perfect.
can you go more than 50/50 in a mixer for a wing ? Because my arwing seem to have very little down on down pitch

What telemetry system is that? Is it built in the transmitter? Sorry I've been out of the R/C scene for around 10 years now, forgotten so many stuff already.

Love the hawk flying buddy lol. Got a question for you about inav, whenever I put my wing into angle or a waypoint / heading hold, it will fly properly but ever-so-slightly bobble the nose up and down, porpoise I think the proper saying is - is this the pids or do you think the cruise speed is too low and it's inav pointing the nose down to stop it stalling?

My experience with r/c aircraft porposing is it's usually the C.G. Check your CG .
My Zohd Drift with the KoPilot did that. It was a smidge tail heavy. I moved slid the fpv camera as far up in the nose as possible, moved the wires out of the way and optimized the Drift to be slightly nose heavy. it flies awesome now.

Luck, the motor stop where it wants .
You use the Force young Jedi
I think there's a bit less airflow over the prop when it's lined up with the trailing edge, so it often prefers to stick there if the brake is enabled.

I am having problems launching the AR Wing Pro. Somehow I never gain enough speed and it crashes into the ground. It looks easy how you do it but I was never able to achieve the same.
I tried with auto launch as well as manual with someone assisting.
3/4 throttle and a decent side arm throw, I never use Auto Launch.
I had the same issue (but not using autolanch). Using the KOPILOT (I think it is way more forgiving than INAV). I've seen all kinds of different launch techniques but didn't see much guidance on how much throttle to give until I saw Andrew's comment about 3/4 throttle. I was going about 60% similar to what I was doing with the ZOHD Dart 250G, (3/4 on that tended to make it overly squirrely, so I dropped it to 60 and that works fine). I didn't think 60 was gonna be enough for this wing. It wasn't nose diving but it would start to level out and belly smack the ground.
@@AndrewNewton I'll give that a try. I was looking for some good guidance on throttle (not using auto launch). @60% it was starting to level out but just wasn't climbing enough and would smack the belly . I tried a little bit of up elevator but, the 3/4 throttle seems like that might help. (it's not loaded down with weight, just a 4s 3300 and lead weight for balance.
Do you prefer the AR Pro or the Aggressor better for slow fpv flying?

Yes, can use just about any kV motor in the 2212 to 2216 size range

Hey, Im getting quite a bit of roll wobble while I'm flying, do you know if it's because of excess throws or any solution to reduce it? I'm constantly battling the aircraft while I'm flying it .. It's not quite smooth/locked in.
With a flight control board? Might need CG a tiny bit further forward, or less throws with more expo

Yes but you must recheck all functions before trusting it. Some of the Pixel OSD selections will not work

Depends on your receiver. I could go 2km with this setup
I know it's ideal, calm conditions, but it's got classic written all over it... IMO....Shame we are forced into fitting a GoPro type camera just to hit CG though...
Buy urself a GoPro 8 with hypersmooth, u won’t regret it. Much more enjoyable watching the stabilised footage then bouncing around everywhere.
Yes I would prefer a longer nose so the GoPro weight wasn't needed
@@CP_FPV I know about hypersmooth, and you're right...but my point was, they should have extended the nose and also into the HD camera area, and allowed the Lipo in there instead of the camera. This would allow a lighter lipo and no HD camera to be used.

The last sequence you could see how much up elevator you needed to keep it level.
Level at the tips and a bit up at the fuselage. I think there is some washout designed in to the wing.

I’m not sure it’s really 3 Amos because painless360 had a cruise of 7 Amps, it depends on weight and wind.
