Quick tip if you dont enable frsky osd on uart 6 you will not have any osd it must always be on uart 6. This board only has frsky osd I would have liked the option for inav osd or even both since it seams most will use it on inav and frsky isnt fully developed yet but I am sure will be great. hope it helps someone
Looking forward to trying it out when they come in stock in the U.S. Word of caution with iNAV 2.5.2. It's buggy and cost me two aircraft last week to the tune of about $1,000. The 500mm long-range quad started behaving strangely in NAV modes then finally became uncontrollable and crashed. It was well-balanced and vibrations were minimal. The other was a loaded FX-61 that went down on the side of a mountain. The firmware started glitching and went to auto throttle in angle mode but didn't show it on the OSD, then it just randomly disarmed and that was all she wrote. While setting up the quad the motors also armed and idled on the bench. The outputs were disabled. The Quad was running a Matek F722-SE and the FX-61 an F405-Wing.
Hey Andrew, glad to see you answer comments even from some older videos. Super helpful! Is there a reason I don't see people using the F722-Wing anymore? I can find the -WPX and apparently it's great, but I own the F722-Wing and I don't want to add it to a plane if this FC has been recalled for some reason.
I also really like that FC. Question: Do you also have sometimes a strong delay when using the INAV OSD menu? Sometimes it stucks for a second or so. No issues in flight. And What FPV cam do you use? Nice picture quality.

Thinking about covering the large surfaces with light cloth and waterbased varnish, with the general state of my flying field in mind (mud). Should clean up easier after a dirty landing...
Hi, I know Sonic model recommend to use a 4S Lipo or Li-ion but do you think it would work fine on 3S ? Maybe with a different motor and prop combo. I am looking to do long range flights with it and i already have 2 sefl-made 18650 Li-ion batteries and it would be a bummer to open and re-do them. Otherwise, I love your work, great videos.
Out of the box, the throws on this plane are almost double the 12mm. Did you limit the throws in the radio or in INAV? I've done the Drift and the Ranger 2000 in INAV got them flying well in manual mode without any adjustment to the throws. Apparently rule #1 in INAV, no mixing on the radio, seems like changing throws on the radio would fall into that category. I thought I watched on your INAV videos, and I thought you did this in the mixer on INAV. With the AR WING PRO, seems like you are limited in mechanically adjusting the throws due to the 1 hole on the control horn.
Are you testing throws with elevon mixing (50 aileron / 50 elevator) or using full 100% input? If you're using an INAV flight control board then all mixing is done in INAV, and you can reduce the mix weights to whatever is appropriate.
@@AndrewNewton . Basically, I have my mixer setup like yours (except servos are 2 nd 3 instead of 3 and 4). The confusion for me is (everyone says set your plane up mechanically in manual mode before you hook an FC to it). Flying without an FC in manual and you mix in the throws in the radio and the plane flies well. Now you move to INAV and you remove all mixing. So if I understand correctly the process would be: 1. Trim mechanically and get flying well in (without the aid of a flight controller ) this would also include adjusting your throws in the radio 2. Load INAV on to an FC and set your plane up as a wing 3. Remove all mixing from the radio (trims/weights/etc) 4. In the Servos tab DO NOT ADJUST the weights (only reverse servos as needed in order to get the pitch working in the correct direction) 5. In the Mixer tab (set the servos up like you have 50% stabilized role, 50% Stabilized pitch for both servos with the weights with a "-" in front of them if needed in order to get the "high 5" of the control surfaces working correctly
3. Yes that's correct as long as you remove the elevon mixing in your radio as well. 5. and you can reduce the 50% values if required to get the right throws in Manual Mode.
Nice, please post DJI FPV HD system next. Pity DJI don’t support iNav fully for OSD. I’m hoping that it will come soon as I should be purchasing my DJI soon and will maiden with the controversial Rambler Wing.
I am finally dipping my toes into iNav. Do you have a recommendation for a type of flight controller to use with this wing and a dji system? Oh yeah and Crossfire.

Can you not setup the analogue in parallel with the dji video with another vtx? I have been wondering about this. If I want to take a significant other or family member for a fly it would be good to give them the dji goggles and fly from the analogue feed.
You talk about having to go to the CLI and enter some information from the Matek website to get the barometer working, is that also true of the F405 wing on inav 2.5?

Great review, I'm trying to get my ar wing pro ready for maiden but can't get the sonicmodell 40amp esc to work. I've wired it to my f405-wing like I've always done setup inav 3.0.1 like always but this thing just beeps slowly and constantly it won't program using inav or radio, only thing is I'm not using the build in servo connector on this esc, what's the purpose of this connector? Is it required to make it work? Thanks for video

Hard to separate them. It would come down to whether you prefer flying wings or planes with a rudder. For me it's the Talon GT.

i would like to ask which wing did you prefer more for stable long range.. ZOHD DART XL or AR WING PRO??
Dart XL has less wobble. Carrying capacity would be about the same.

Any of the Matek Wing or WSE boards. F411 can handle DJI with the correct firmware but I would prefer one of the bigger boards.

Of course, two totally separate FPV systems. Just have to choose channels to be far apart I guess.

Not using the servo connector? Must connect the black and yellow/white wires to the FC (but not the red wire)
