Used to sell random items in my stall, all priced at 1,000,000 coins. The hope was some hero would come along and basically give me a mil so I could purchase a wolf puppy 🐺

Like, the concept of having a companion that actually fights sounds kinda cool. But there were issues. It did so little damage that it wouldn't help you against stronger mobs, and it's tanking capbilities weren't there either, as it didn't have the healthpool for that kind of stuff, and it couldn't keep aggro unless you waited for ages until it had the mob down to below 50%. Oh, and when it died, which of course it would on a regular basis, it would set you back another.. I think 50k every time it happened. I get OP, I used to want one badly. Until I had one. If my character still exists, there's definetely a dead wolf in the storage

One day i've bought a wolf and he said let's copy it and make more so i've accepted. He did item copying bug where you have to open stall at outside of the city. He copied it and then disappeared. Wolf icon was still in inventory but clicking wasn't working anymore and it disappeared after teleporting lol I've trusted that POS and i've thought he was my friend 😭

Afterwards the most populated private server Esro. Actually the SP farming i kind of liked, and would miss now if i didnt need to do it. And i was a legit non-bot farmer. Farming in Karakoram on the 56/57 Ice warrior bois because any other spot from the weaker with giant variants was usually taken. I did that until i had atleast 500k wich back then got me just to the lvl 90 cap. Sold any special items and turned the rest into elements during that time and made millions over millions to make sure i could get decend gear and materials to upgrade it all. Played this game and Cabal every second of the day that i did not have to be in school/do homework or learn for tests. Best and most nostalgic time of my childhood man. This game was the reason why i got straight A's in every english test i had back then. Remembering playing them on my old ass rig that could barely handle towns with 10fps due to all the players, makes me wish i could be a kid again.

I loved this game in 2004. Ice with sword/bow is op as hell IMO. The must fun aspect I thought was starting new with no gear , and doing the market thing and coming home from work from my compusa job to see if anything sold.

Read this i just logged in on my 15 year old account! This is how the game is now! I started playing in 05/06 on the aege server when cap was 90 and played it for a couple of years. I was lvl 101 when cap was like 110 i think. 3 months ago i was playing on an private sro server with an old sro friend of me. He came to my house and were talking about the good old days. It was so strange i saw him and out of nothing i rememberd my login and password from over 15 years ago. I tried to login but it didnt work. I tried to recover my account back because i didnt know if it would still exist. It costed me aloooooot of hours but i restored my account. I saw i got hacked in 2011 that was a couple years after my last login to the account. I needed to choose a new server for my account and pay 5 euro or i could not get my account back. Eventually i vould log in, i still had my black avatar set and a nova ring. My Whole bank was cleared and even my silk was gone. I could see in the item mall that the hacker bought alot of tiger scrolls in 2011. I bought global chats and send a message to everyone if some1 could help me. One guy added me he was level 134. He saud the game was dead and the people who play pay litterally thousand of dollars per month to get to level 140. He said to start a new account and get to lvl 140 can take about 7 years of botting. I still had a gold dragonflag and that was worth about 20bil(wat was nothing the guy told me). I had my old feeling back for around 20minuts and i logged of. Hurted me alot because the game was the best time ive ever had until to many botters and turkish players who couldnt talk english at all. Rip joymax.

first time watching an English video on Silkroad :) Keep it up, it was fun. Silkroad is one of the most beautiful games ever made. Its skill animations are still unmatched. For people looking for a real game rather than an idle one, the Origin Online pserver is pretty legit.
Holy shit hearing the intro music makes me want to give it another shot. Maybe only on a pserver since I can't imagine playing for a decade only to level up once.
This was such a good game. The armor, landscape, cultural references were more rooted in historic counterparts with real Asian Cities and regions as well. It was so much better than the nonsense fantasy asian mmo’s now that just look like any other fantasy mmos with rediculous huge swords and nothing to draw you into the asian culture.

growing up with silkroad online and grinding for years only to have my whole shit hacked and stolen during an exploit when i was not playing anymore was the nail in the coffin.. this video explains almost everything bad and good about SRO. the unreasonable grind the scummy company named joymax nickel and diming you to no ends. the gold bots... the 24/7 botting just to get 1 level in 4 weeks in cap 100+ etc.. looking back its a mixed bag for me, on 1 hand this is the most fun i had in any game ever. but on the other hand it was just an unhealthy obsession with the biggest PAY2WIN game of the 2000s.. so nostalgic but also so much wasted time... this shit would have never been ok nowdays. no way JOYMAX could pull this off in now.

Imo, the game still looks good with fancy animations and effects. Maybe a tad bit of modeling would help but it shouldn't take away from the original feeling.
It would be amazing. There are so many good things about this game. Trader/thief system, decent music, decent artwork and style, unique system... But there should be so many upgrades that I think it might be and up being a different game with a different feel. Silkroad is Silkroad because of both the good and the bad things together.

The game died after the jupiter update. A lot of people say that Alexanderia update killed it but actually that was the last good update since having one seal (nova) made the gap between players not huge

I played this waaay back in the day. Never got super high level but I remember grinding for hooouuurrss in that jungle area killing the tigers etc. Man what a waste of time that was, thankfully I've matured a lot since then, but hey it was fun! I think what killed the game for me was when they brought out the Europe expansion thing.. I didn't really understand the point of it and the game just got sh1t from then on. A shame, really. I did like the PvP aspect with taking the goods to another town, that was really cool. I was crap at it and got attacked by Thieves but it was fun! edit: Is the whole Trader vs Thief thing a thing on some of these private servers, as well? As if it's like instant max-level and you can pretty much jump right into PvP, I might be interested to revisit that side of the game again...
I have 10s of thousands of hours (of botting) in this game. I was genuinely addicted to it and I still revisit but I can resist the craving now. The Jangan music, Don Whang music, and Constantinople music all live in my head rent free 24/7

the video started off a bit rough, but got better with the jokes and especially the vocal delivery picked up with enthusiasm which made for easier listening, but the audio clips you play over the top sometimes make ithard to hear one or the other. either way thanks for the vid

This game was such a huge part of my childhood, it was so amazing with sooo much potential , i played it for years . The bots and the farmers absolutely destroyed the game, to the point where all you see is bots with only a few real humans in the pvp areas. Which pvp is another issue, theres no lower level pvp, either your max level with everything Egy B maxes SoS , or you dont go to the pvp area
Vertical game desing. You are nothing unless you are max level. The Elder Scrolls Online has a very good horizontal game desing where you can play with a max level player and still be useful, you can still do dungeons together and have some fun

If you go to another server you are totally stranger. I had soo nice friends and spent nice time in the game.

I really wanted a rework of the game, with updated graphics and without pay2win, but I know that Joymax sold the game, and not if the owner or someone behind it is thinking of bringing a rework of silkroad, silkroad it's an mmo that beats in many mmorpgs that exist today.

God I loved this game so much. I know going back would absolutely suck my soul away even though I've never gotten past level 65. But goodness gracious. The gridning in this game is dangerously unhealthy, to the point that it's not even worth playing.
The problem to play this game at the time had to pay a bot to play for you, impossible to level up after level 70 playing by yourself. But I have so many good memories of this game anyway.

I played this game for around 10 years too, I started since Legend 1 my life was cantered around it I have even wrote a Bot that makes sure that my SBot is always running xD a lot of memories, I still have my accounts , Hercules server, they are all around lv110 but I don’t play anymore

This game was outstanding when it was released... way better than most of the rpg out there. The problem is that they didn't know how to maintain the hype and started to add shit (like European classes) instead of improving graphics or improving/adding skills, attacks, animations... Imo, the game still looks good with fancy animations and effects. Maybe a tad bit of modeling would help but it shouldn't take away from the original feeling.
It would be amazing. There are so many good things about this game. Trader/thief system, decent music, decent artwork and style, unique system... But there should be so many upgrades that I think it might be and up being a different game with a different feel. Silkroad is Silkroad because of both the good and the bad things together.

The game died after the jupiter update.
A lot of people say that Alexanderia update killed it but actually that was the last good update since having one seal (nova) made the gap between players not huge

To this day I've never seen better animations for skills in any game. No stupid semi-teleporting skills like in most games.

I played this waaay back in the day. Never got super high level but I remember grinding for hooouuurrss in that jungle area killing the tigers etc. Man what a waste of time that was, thankfully I've matured a lot since then, but hey it was fun! I think what killed the game for me was when they brought out the Europe expansion thing.. I didn't really understand the point of it and the game just got sh1t from then on. A shame, really. I did like the PvP aspect with taking the goods to another town, that was really cool. I was crap at it and got attacked by Thieves but it was fun!
edit: Is the whole Trader vs Thief thing a thing on some of these private servers, as well? As if it's like instant max-level and you can pretty much jump right into PvP, I might be interested to revisit that side of the game again...

If the Bots where integreated in the base game it would actually make it better. And only 3 chars per IP
I have 10s of thousands of hours (of botting) in this game. I was genuinely addicted to it and I still revisit but I can resist the craving now.

man this is your only video but... it brought back so many memories. i played on a off on several private servers since 2008 I played since the 80 level cap on the original game. i never found anything like it. the music was so good and its so nostalgic to hear now. are you still playing? i wonder if there is a good server now. i loved the PVP
the video started off a bit rough, but got better with the jokes and especially the vocal delivery picked up with enthusiasm which made for easier listening, but the audio clips you play over the top sometimes make ithard to hear one or the other. either way thanks for the vid

This game was such a huge part of my childhood, it was so amazing with sooo much potential , i played it for years . The bots and the farmers absolutely destroyed the game, to the point where all you see is bots with only a few real humans in the pvp areas. Which pvp is another issue, theres no lower level pvp, either your max level with everything Egy B maxes SoS , or you dont go to the pvp area
earlier versions of the game weren't like that
Vertical game desing. You are nothing unless you are max level. The Elder Scrolls Online has a very good horizontal game desing where you can play with a max level player and still be useful, you can still do dungeons together and have some fun

Do you know if there is a silkroad forum? I really wanted a rework of the game, with updated graphics and without pay2win, but I know that Joymax sold the game, and not if the owner or someone behind it is thinking of bringing a rework of silkroad, silkroad it's an mmo that beats in many mmorpgs that exist today.
The game content is just about enough to be perfect 👌 I still play private servers up to this day

The problem to play this game at the time had to pay a bot to play for you, impossible to level up after level 70 playing by yourself. But I have so many good memories of this game anyway.

I played this game for around 10 years too, I started since Legend 1 my life was cantered around it I have even wrote a Bot that makes sure that my SBot is always running xD a lot of memories, I still have my accounts , Hercules server, they are all around lv110 but I don’t play anymore
damn bro, this is the best review I've seen so far. I'm always curious how is the iSro now and how does level max on that original server look like with the skills and all. Anyway, screw the system they made, all they want is money from their players now.

This game was outstanding when it was released... way better than most of the rpg out there. The problem is that they didn't know how to maintain the hype and started to add shit (like European classes) instead of improving graphics or improving/adding skills, attacks, animations...
