Great show with one single appearance of the lovely curator of this channel at 6:33 😂. I think the vault shirt might have been a black copy and the producers didn´t care for any copyrights. Not really a home run today, so stay optimistic. In twenty years you will be the proud owner of a neat property either in Wyoming or in Europe (Munich) writing your memoires. Have a good time, Renée, your lovely viewers can´t wait to see your Christmas decorations at home ! 🎄⛄✨Greets from GER, U.

Oh boy, my memoirs?! "See, it was a summer Sunday morning... I was waiting for the Tote Man to show up at the flea market and this happened..." What a book that would be! Rainy day here, getting a decent amount of work done with plans to continue translating a few more of the Berlin letters tonight. This weather is actually perfect coffee shop & book shop weather, but sometimes it's nice to just stay home in comfy clothes and work here. Also less distractions, as I'd be found in the history section seeing what new books are out! Hope that your Sunday has been a relaxing one as we enter another week!

As a former reseller have watched your site since the beginning. I am sad to say you went by some really nice resale items in the home goods section. The hot pads you like so much were made for dish clothes not hot pads (too many holes that let fingers slip through). I made many of them and the ones you folded into slippers. I grew up in the 50's and 60's so I have an advantage but really I am sad that you missed the goodies of my early years. Your skills in paper are amazing and top of the line in research and info. I always give you a thumbs up to support your site and maybe help with bills. Keep looking and selling. Best wishes.

Even resale items don't always sell especially this time of year. Sometimes we just have to leave them in the store.

I totally agree. She passed by what looked like a Pendleton blanket in the linens section. Correct me if i am wrong, but Rene tends to stick to her niches(totally admirable) and even if something could bring profit, she wont just pick up just for the sake of sourcing.

I predict that in the year 2043, Miss Moose will be retired and iving on her ranch near Yellowstone, with her herd of Moose, after finding a Guttenburg Bible in the trash in 2040.😎

Honestly, I think if I were to find a Gutenberg Bible anywhere, the odds of it being in the trash would probably be the best to bet on. "Great-great-great-great Uncle Sterling had this old beat-up book sitting in the attic for years. It's printed in some weird language. Get John to carry it down and put it out for the trash!"

Enjoyed the video …as always !
We don’t go to that many thrift stores anymore, not much good stuff. Maybe we will with winter time coming slowing down the flea markets
My girlfriend buys, sells and collects T shirts. She just sold a Spider-Man one from the ‘90s for $195.00. I have to be honest I just don’t get it. She paid $2 for it, the best one she ever sold was for $1,000 and we found it in the trash left behind at the auction.
I know a little what to look for with them and will get them for her if I think they are good …and they are cheap.
Back when we first met I was at my weekly auction and this guy unloading trucks had this neat shirt on, sort of looked like the Alfred Newman character but it wasn’t. Just looked Good if you know what I mean.
I asked him if he wanted to sell it, told him some story about my wife throwing mine out.
Ended up giving him $20 which I am sure branded me an idiot.
My girl loves it, turns out it was by some artist that did gratefull dead and others album art back in the ‘70s and is worth a good bit. She still has it, I asked if I could wear it. She just looked at me

    • @PaperandMoose

The vintage shirt market is crazy. There are those that specialize in selling the "vintage" of the 70s-90s and then I know a few that focus on finding and selling clothes from the 1960s and earlier. I think it's a market where you have to kind of "know" someone who knows someone or be in the cleanout/estate buying market. Otherwise, it's to the thrift store or bins every day to find the clothing. Many do that, as the bins that I go to occasionally always has the same group of the vintage shirt buyers.

I guess it's really a horror shirt in the sense that it's a horror for resellers? Can't believe the prices on those original vintage Ts. Some that I could've bought new back in the day. Begs the question, which you've asked before, as to what we should be buying and saving today. Ironically there was a Hess Truck ad when I logged on. Thanks for the informative video - hope you have a great Sunday afternoon!

I wonder with the "reproduction" shirts that Walmart & Kohls make today, will people want to buy them in 20-25 years? Will the new gaming system games be sought after like they are now? It's all a gamble about what to put aside for the "future collectors". What ephemera from today will be worth anything? What ephemera do we even have anymore? Tickets are all on one's phone, same with photographs. Though I have been thinking about a current ephemera "trend" that I might have to put together a video for. It will be a little bit different than my usual topics, but I think ties in nicely with my channel. Are you busy getting ready for Christmas? Will you host the family again or let another relative handle the crowd?

    • @stephenritz5581
      @stephenritz5581 9 місяців тому +1

@@PaperandMoose I’ll be interested to see the video on the ephemera trend. No, the beauty of hosting Thanksgiving is a quiet Christmas Day at home with just the immediate family and a visit from grandparents. Looking forward to that! Do you guys have a big gathering?

I'm sure one will turn up, hopefully not like in the 1972 movie "Frogs" an eco-horror flick starring the late Ray Milland. It dealt with a frog invasion in the Florida Everglades...a very funky production...some of the shots of the frogs were the best part...story and acting about a D+! This one was toward the end of Milland's days.@@PaperandMoose

It's hard to know what that shirt is worth it could be worth $5-10 even though it's a vintage Halloween shirt I wouldn't be surprised if you could put it on line get 30 When you don't find any comparable to some things sometimes it's hard to figure out a price and sometimes a bootleg shirt can be worth more then a regular shirt it's not a mass-produced shirt I think you did all right at the pressure makes some money Because it's horror it's just hard to say what did exactly worth because you cannot find any comparable s twit really If you couldn't find it it's because probably not a lot of them
