As the video says, when she got diagnosed with cancer she began exploring different spiritualities and to surround herself with spiritual people. That’s what offended her husband who’s more of a pagan than a believer in a higher power like God. In an interview he referenced their split and said contemptuously that she’d changed and he didn’t like the type of people she’d chosen to be around. She said even without the cancer their marriage would’ve probably ended anyway. Sometimes a significant age gap can make for problems eventually, when one reaches certain milestones or points in life the other can’t relate to or has already gone through and has no patience for when it happens to their spouse. One example is that what often happens when one reaches their 40’s is an examination of their life thus far, a recognition of mortality, a re-prioritizing. I think most late 20’s, early 30-year old’s (no offense intended) would feel threatened by the changes they fear might occur or are occurring in their older partner.
