One of the best damn hand guards I've seen. And a great Improvement to the wwsd project, this along with the aero enhanced upper make a welcome addition and one that in-range should have consider.
@@resurgentarms6894 that's not a bad idea however here's one more I'll be honest I love my apocalypse handguard. But it would be really badass if there was a way to get a heat shield in there using m-lock at least for me I'm running a completely slick setup no vertical grips no sling attachments but that pencil barrel and handguard does get hot after a while not as hot as aluminum but that would be really bad ass to see an M lock heat shield for a carbon fiber handguard
@@romeoechofoxtrot18 Gotcha, I think I understand. Something like this Magpul product? magpul.com/m-lok-rail-covers-type2.html?mp_global_color=118 The way for us to do that, would be to expand the number of MLOK cuts we make, especially along the 3' and 9'oclock positions.
@@resurgentarms6894 I would probably buy 10 handguards and I don't even have 10 rifles yet, if you guys did something like that I feel like that would really set you guys apart I'm still going to buy your handguards anyway
@@romeoechofoxtrot18 Brother, thank you so much for the feedback! I know that the Apocalyse's had a small and dedicated following, but I didn't realize it was to this extent. We're going to re-engineer and redesign the Apoc's in a couple months, to coincide with the release of FDE and ODG-colored tube. I will take your input and increase the number of MLOK slots. Again, thank you! This was a very helpful conversation.
We appreciate that! For what it's worth, the whole WWSD project inspired us as well. We were looking to fix some of the criticisms of Faxon, while also offering some brand new design elements.
Weights for the other lengths? EDIT: doing some quick mafs, an M4E1 upper (6.9oz) + this 12" handguard (9.6oz) is 16.5oz total. A M4E1 enhanced, with built-in BAR compatibility (10.24oz) + the handguard alone (6.5oz) is 16.74oz, and a slight bit more to account for the screws. So pretty comparable in terms of weight, but I think the biggest benefit of the BAR compatibility is the rock-solid mounting, since the handguard doesn't come with anti-rotation tabs.
Hi Raba, thanks for doing the legwork on that. I doubled-checked it myself, and the math agrees with you -- it's slightly heavier using Aero's upper. Apologies on that, I fired from the hip and was wrong!
Looks like a nice and well done product the issue I have is I wish you had taken it and beaten something with it. Carbon fibre is known for being brittle chipping cracking ETC ETC next time beat something with it.
Hi Donald, I think you'll find that we're competitive in weight and price with high-end aluminum handguards. Aero's S-One handguard, for instance, is about the same weight as these. We do have a lighter, octagon version which clocks in at around 5.5 oz. Also, JAG uses a foam core on their handguards. If you crank down on an MLOK attachment too hard, you can compress the foam.
Hi No Retreat -- understood. For others reading this, aluminum barrels nuts are very common and perfectly suitable for .556. .308 or larger, you definitely want a steel barrel nut, just to contain the much higher cartridge energy. Aluminum is nice for reduced weight compared to steel, and also so the metal expands/contracts at the same rate as the aluminum receiver. Hope that helps!
Field test the guard and make a video. Put a 1000 rounds through it and make a video! Cant introduce nor sell arms to people or countries without a demonstration proving product boasts and claims. At the end of the day, its gotta be equal too if not greater than the current industry standard.

We're considering doing a version of these with a cutout for an A2 FSB. Open to any thoughts!

Holy crap. Super excited. Been following you guys for a few years and have bought products. Can't wait. Sign me up for beta testing!!
Hey Teddy, no need for beta testing -- these are available for pre-order now! We appreciate the enthusiasm and the past business.
Nice product, Will. Glad to see you advancing with your gear. Keep them coming. 🙋
Incredible! Great job, guys!
Thanks David!
Hi Will, nice to see something new from RA. Definitely a contender for a WWSD build.

@@romeoechofoxtrot18 Thank you, I'm glad to hear that. We will be bringing these back in 2-3 months, potentially in FDE and ODG versions!
Why is everything out of stock? Can I get one with no slots? I want to paint it like a Pringles can
Sir good day do you make 14 inch handguard for mbx or battle arms and how much it would cost thanks
Are you guys still making them every time I look the site is out

How does this handguard compare to your competition version that looks like the aero quantum
Is there anti-rotation?

Will it fit on piston uppers
How secure is this without indexing tabs?
Extremely secure
Over double the weight of the JAG and heavier than most other CF free floats. You might as well just go aluminum here and spend half the money.
