Hello from Russia, WhatWood team
Hello Egor!
Does the Southern Pine market pricing follow the Douglass fir/larch market ?
Not really. Fir/Larch is a specialty item and a coastal harvest. The closest relationship is between WSPF, ESPF, & SYP. Douglas fir is used for custom and higher-end home building, mostly on the Eastern seaboard, Texas, and California.
SYP is used as standard construction framing lumber. It is also used for outdoor purposes like siding and decking.
I was wondering if you could do a video on Western red cedar market how it works what he future is thanks
Ok! Cedar prices only ever go up, my graphs look like stairs. There is a big problem on the coast with timber supply because we really messed up the harvest bad in the 1980s and again in the 2000s, so it's coming back Douglas fir and Hemlock.
Strange times for the lumber market
Totally bananas :-/
What is the new lumber futures ticket symbol?
