I think maybe the parchment paper i bought at Dollar store would work. It is Fairley clear, much more economical than vellum. I love this idea. Thank you
I’ve made several of these that also split on the top too. I sewed mine in. I like the idea of the home made washi at the top to stop it . Might give it another go now 👍🌸
I love this! I love the idea of the packing tape on the sides of the pages, too. Maybe you could reinforce the bottoms of the pockets with the packing tape, also, by starting with the top pocket, add the tape, add the 2nd pocket down, add the tape, add the 3rd pocket down, add the tape and then wrap it to the other side of the page. That would help to reinforce the bottoms of the pockets, as well. I just made a storage system similar, but with acetate pocets, and they are coming up, so i am going to redo it with the packing tape. Thanks so much for the idea!!
Just finished watching this video (it’s nearly 1 o’clock in the morning), and I have ordered some vellum sheet. I have the perfect book for this, and I cannot wait to make one of my own.
Hello Rita! I just came across your channel. I'm Kay Michele with Lady Dragonfly Designs, nice to meet you.♥Great video! Oh I love Le Cafe Crafts, she is so inspiring! TFS Much Love From Texas!!💕💕
This is awesome Rita. I love your homemade washi tape on the top of every vellum. That side pocket is such a genius idea, haven’t seen that in the ephemera holders. That’s a really great tip. Thank you. Glad you’re recovering well, and thank you for your time to do videos. You are appreciated! I enjoy watching all your videos.
Yes that looks similar to one I'm making ...but I made a huge fold up folder from collaging full pages of old mail together a few layers ...now I gotta make tons pockets across it all ...three sides when open and then I can do elastic string across all to hold extra stuff...ii tried photo albums etc etc but this be faster n lighter weight and hold tons be easy access...lol...
It was great, the hole has already closed, except for a small area...seeing better every day 👁 thanks so much for asking! I just watched your trailer on UA-cam, and I didn't know what that was for sure. I totally understand the fibromyalgia. My friend suffers from it too. I also have mild fibro, and sometimes it just hurts to wear clothes. 🥺
Yes, the last one I made was with vellum, but I thought it would hold up because of the strong tape. Mostly I like looking at all the ephemera without turning page after page. 😁
I love the fact that you have a double reinforced edge due to your folded over washi tape. Might a self-fold gusset give the space needed to remove the contents easier? Even if one added additional washi tape along the entire edge, (gusset included), it still would keep the integrity of strength needed for the top. TFS!
Thank you for the tips. Very helpful . May i share an idea? Where the washi tape is covered with the packing tape, and it took up too much space, take your razor and carefully cut the tape in half.
Hi Rita! Thanks so much for a fun interpretation of one of Patricia’s ideas: I love it, a never-ending ephemera holder! I wondered if you use the kraft paper tape first & then added the vellum strips, if that would work well? You’d get more “real estate” on each row & it may lay flatter that way? I’ve watched Rachel (Roxy’s Creations) use more of it recently & it’s a nice look! I bought some of that tape recently, but haven’t used it yet, so I don’t know how easy it is to work with. Thanks so much for a wonderful video, I have “liked” & subscribed! Hope to see you again soon! Erica❤
I made a similar one awhile ago, but used cellotape along the bottom of the pockets. NOT a good idea, stuff slips down and gets stuck in the tape. Also found if you don't glue the sides stuff falls out all the time. Basic idea is fantastic though, and works super well. I need to make another one.

I wish I would have seen this before I made my flimsy cracker box ephemera holder. I put so much work into it, I’m stuck with it. This was very satisfying to watch….. missing & thinking of you ❤️🧡🤎💛
Hi, Candace I think ephemera holders are hard to find the best one for yourself. I keep trying. I have pretty much gone back to a box. I will share this in an upcoming video. I think I will have a video up Tuesday 🤗🤗🤗
I hadn’t thought of reinforcing the edges that way. Great idea.
Glad it was helpful! 🤗
❤❤❤👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 thank you for sharing this idea. Very interesting and helpful.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching…🤗
Thank you Rita for mentioning Le Cafe Craft 🙏❣️❣️… we can all agree it is a “sticky “ project !😳😂😂
I accomplished it, but it dosn't look as nice as yours. Thank you for watching🙂

Yes, it might and less expensive! Thanks for watching 🤗
Love the idea and this video is not at confusing it was very straightforward. Thanks again.😊
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching🎄😊🎄
Rita I’m happy to hear that you’re healing and doing what you love, nice job.
Yes, Dr’s appointment was this morning, and all is great. I appreciate your concern 🥰
I’ve made several of these that also split on the top too. I sewed mine in. I like the idea of the home made washi at the top to stop it . Might give it another go now 👍🌸
I thought about sewing, maybe using fabric for the hinges. I just hope it helps, haven't had time to fill it up just. 😁
Great ephemera holder! I love the idea!
Thank you! Use it every day! 🤗

Beautiful work!!!! Pretty different, I like it and thank you for share it. Blessings
Thank you so much! For watching my channel hope to hear more from you! 🤗
See through…genius! Thx for your great ideas!
Yes, I love this folder...if you make one be sure you secure the vellum well. I used clear packing tape! 💖
Brilliant
Thank you! It's the only ephemera holder I continue to use every day! 🤗
Boy that's complicated you did good girl. Thanks
It really is worth it! It's probably the best ephemera folder I have found. 🤗🤗🤗
I'm sure the book will be bowed when it's filled with things. Looks really cool!
I don't know if it will or not, hoping it will have enough room to expand...just have wait and see. 😁
Hi Rita. Great ephemera book. Thanks. 🥰💖
I am so glad I made this it's working very well for me. 🙂
Just finished watching this video (it’s nearly 1 o’clock in the morning), and I have ordered some vellum sheet. I have the perfect book for this, and I cannot wait to make one of my own.
I found folding the top of the vellum about a 1/4”. You don't need to put washi on edge.🙂
@@ritajensen8311 Thanks. That’s a good tip, although I think the washi tape makes the edge easier to see.
You’re a busy bee, love it.
Use a ring binder in place of a book cover would be good ... One for each ephemera. Thank you for this method.
Thank you for watching, I love using this book for my ephemera! 🥰

Thank you so much. I hope that it will help keep me organized...Also, I will be able to make changes in the next ones I make.
Love this!!!!!!!
Thank you! I am still using it daily…🤗
Can make a whole book this way kewl...I gonna integrate this into my plans what making...lol...great...
I think you could easily make the book larger! 🤔
I need to make one. So glad I found you
Thank you, Nancy I love mine! Use it all the time! 💐💕💐
WOW
Thanks! 🤗

Yes, Kelly I love mine I have a couple that I use for odds and ends, and the other for my current projects! 🙂
Yes, I want to make one of these!❤
Wow, that's a old video! I love mine I only fill it with the things I need for one or two journals. 💐
It's fabulous 👍
I did watch your autumn one but I was busy crafting to comment, I'm loving the tone of it 😍
Thank you, I have been watching you too!!! Love the kit with the blue paper from College Type💙
@@ritajensen8311 I'm trying to do as much fall as possible. I've loads of stuff still to use up.
How did your check up go!?
It was great, the hole has already closed, except for a small area...seeing better every day 👁 thanks so much for asking! I've done a similar but used vellum and wasn't happy with how it didn't stay stuck on the sides. Will use the folder pieces from now on. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions. If I make another one, I like the idea of gussets! So far, it’s held up for several months. Thanks for watching🙂
Great video! This is definitely on my to do list! 💕
Thanks, Mary. I hope it will work out for me. I think next time, I will put the pockets on after making the book.🙂
This would be a good book to do the tab binding 😊
Yes, I think it would! I will have to revisit the process and give it a try. 🙂
Thank you for the tutorial
You’re welcome 😊 Thank you for watching!
Thank you for the tips. Very helpful . May i share an idea? Where the washi tape is covered with the packing tape, and it took up too much space, take your razor and carefully cut the tape in half.
Thank you for your tip! That's exactly what I did at a later time. Thanks for watching! 🤗

I do have that tape now, but not when I made that video., I will give it a try next time! Thank you so much for subscribing and watching my channel🥰

Yes, the first couple I made did not hold up, and then I found I wanted to change the size of the pockets to work for me! 🙂
Great project! Can you please link that tape?

Sorry to critique your video but you ended up confusing me. I get the concept. Thanks for sharing.
It confused me too! Now I realize I had the camera set to mirror the image and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong! 😬
