  • In 2021 I shared an image of my new ephemera box which I'd made from a recycled shoebox, it was such a popular image on my social media generating so many requests for a tutorial that I promised to try and duplicate it in a smaller size to make it easier for me to film.
This video will take you from shoebox to a constructed and collaged but undecorated ephemera box, Part 2 will be the decorating.

I don't want you get hurt by this comment. It is not intended to be mean. I think your having ocd gives us, your followers an advantage. It allows us to get all the right measurements and we can see exactly how something needs to be done. And this project is one where we all need to have everything fit together well. I need a box to fill with ephemera. I have loads in those dollar tree plastic envelopes and yes I can see through them but my gosh I have so many and my drawers are full and I don't know where anything is anymore. This will help so much. Thank you so much Ceri.

Marlene I’m not hurt in any way, the way my mind is wired is beyond anyone’s control and I’ve learnt to embrace it as my exactness is what make me who I am.

We have had this bench ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxNuLbiXpLQ-mKH5NlyjrNe88hiCk2N3Cg for five years now and it is still holding up strong with minimal signs of wear! So much so that I decided to get another one to store other stuff. The first one is still beautiful, strong and is easy to clean. It’s been in our living room and we store toys and blankets in it and it really holds quite a bit of stuff. I purchased a similar one two years ago from Aldi and let me tell you that one fell apart in less than six months of use. Get this one if you’re looking. Seriously worth it. Five years already and I can’t believe it looks this good and has held up for the price! Awesome bench, the new one I just got is identical.

Oh man, I just started this video and it's time for a cup of tea to sit and enjoy, take notes and learn how you do these. A few months ago I was offered a big storage cabinet and I thought it would end my woes of not having enough storage for my paper crafting stuff. Wrong! I do have plenty of storage, but I'm not organized, at all, I don't keep things tidy. So I know what my next projects will be! No more willy-nilly stuffing the shelves.
Thank you very much and again, I'm so glad youtube recommended you!

Europe is into recycle things so it does not go to landfills and make beautiful things to keep, Unfortunately America is a instant gratification and wasteful. I love this, go to the thrift stores or if people are getting rid of damaged books this is perfect. Thank you for keeping this technique alive. I have been doing ornaments with foam clay and rice paper or napkins and they need a pretty box to store in. The only thing I need a lid lol. Happy building I will check out part 2. You’re absolutely wonderful! I truly have no intention of making this particular box anytime soon, but your instructional methods and explanations are so precise and everything you do is so comprehensive and clear, that once I started watching, I was simply mesmerized. I’m positive that the information I’ve obtained in this video will come in handy somewhere down the line and I fully intend on watching the next video(s) on this box to completion. Your teaching style is incredibly enjoyable and easy to follow, even if the project at hand may be a long way off; for me anyway. There’s something so captivating, practical and useful about your systematic methods, that I believe they can be applied to a multitude of projects across the board. I have found everything I’ve seen you teach thus far to be absolutely top notch! I wish all the school teachers could take courses from you, as you make learning completely addictive; even soothing to the brain.

He's 90 now and has dementia so being around tools is no longer a good thing for him. I would sit and watch him work as I was always interested in how it was all done!! I like the refurbishing of furniture and house reno shows on HGTV and could watch them all day!! Drove my Mom crazy ( she and I shared a place before she passed). Anyways, onto part 2!! TFS!! Appreciate the detail you went into, especially about decoupaging the corners etc. It's those little things that takes something frome homemade to looking more professional and nicer. Look forward to watching the second vid

I love this!! You did a great job of explaining!! I started out making mini-albums and I made a few boxes from scratch, but this is so much better.....now just to go out and find a box!! Thanks for sharing!!

OMG, where have you been all my journaling life? Haha. I have gone through and saved videos to my playlists and LoL and behold you have one on the envelope punch! I have tried to use mine countless times and had all but given up. I have a feeling you’re going to change that. 🥰

Ceri, Merry Christmas from the southern California desert!! This is a wonderful thing you're doing here! I love constructing stuff - I've built lots - AND I totally appreciate your thorough explanation of your process steps!! I must say, I've never seen inside or outside corners covered that way - BRILLIANT!! Looking forward to the follow up videos! This is going directly into my "Craft Room Organization" file, TYFS! Hugs, MK 🤗❤️🌵❤️🤗

I think cutting the rim off the top and using it for stabilization was brilliant! I have a plethora of those photo boxes and that's my biggest beef saggy sides...Now i know what to do! I guess it's not really their fault I over fill them then lose the lids.🤔 THX

I have done many of these covering boxes with old book page, but you have got this down to a science with the corners inside and out. Ha, I just willie nillie with my collaging. I will defiantly try your way of doing it. It looks so much easier your way. Thanks for doing this video.

Less than 5 mins into the video and I've subscribed. Talk about coincidence, my Husband was putting out a new shoe box this afternoon and asked me if I wanted it for my craft room before he put it in the recycling. Of course I said Yes, even though I wasn't entirely sure what I planned to do with it. Well now I know. Can't wait to watch the rest of the video, or to have a look at some of your other videos, I'm sure I will be crafting along with you very soon.
