TUTORIAL - EPHEMERA STORAGE - EASY!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лют 2025
- I really needed some ephemera storage and found a video with this idea and LOVED the concept! So I made it my way and this is the result. It's so simple and easy!
All you need are a few hanging file folders, some packing tape and left over scrapbook paper. The cover can be an old book or even recycled cardboard. I show several of both options in this video.
If you are going to make this...use your stash! I didn't have to buy anything to make all four of these ephemera storage books. (If you need supplies though - I provided links below that show you what I used to create these cool storage books.)

I used a big about 8x12 book originally intended for photos , I think. I had 8 very thin but strong 'bands of some vellum type tape acrosst the pages, very close together about 10 rows per page. I use it for my fussy cut stuff for journals ...items the size of postage stamps to about 4x5 inches..it does overlap the stuff somewhat , but its much easier to view and find than stuff stored in piles in small boxes or other such ways.! Love it
Argh, I had a flashback seeing those record books. Used them all the time when I was in the service. They are used by the military & US Government. I still have some of those! What a great idea to repurpose them. They are so well made I could never throw them away.
Hi Melanie! 💜 Yes, my dad was in the military and that's how I got them. We use what we have. 😉

Thank you Rita! 🥰 It is amazing for storing ephemera. Thanks for watching! ✌
Great video! I know this was a couple of years ago. And I saw that several people asked how you attached it to the book cover. So I understand what you do with the front cover but how do you attach to the back of cover and still be able to flip flop the pages?
Hi! Thank you so much. 💜
I attached the back cover the same as the front. Easy peasy! Thanks for watching - I really appreciate it. ✌
~ Debbi
I love this idea! Thank you for the tutorial!

I used vellum and added trim to the top so it was easy to see.
Awesome! I bet it looks great.
Thanks for watching. ~Debbi ✌
This is such a wonderful idea however the taped edge does not stayed glued. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Natalie! I'm glad you liked this. ☺️ I glued my washi tape before attaching and it worked like a charm. Thanks for watching! ✌

Love this storage idea! Are those Tim Holts ephemera or where did you get all of the people?
Hi Brenda! Thank you so much. 🥰 I fussy cut them all from a book I found at a thrift store. Sorry but I don't know who the photographer is. Thanks for watching! ✌
@@PlanDoRepeat thanks so much for letting me know. Love this idea!

Again, my OCD can’t handle all of these organizational videos....I can’t keep up!!! Lol!!!
Hi Sandi! This one blew my mind. 🤯 For real. I was so excited when I saw the original version. 🤩 I just had to share. Thanks for watching! ✌
How did you attach the front/back covers? Glue or tape?
Looks like an easy way to make this storage book. How did you attach the cover to the "pages"?
Hi Jenn! It is easy!🥰 I attached the covers with Fabritac glue. I left a link to it in the description box below this video. Thanks so much for watching! ✌
@@PlanDoRepeat thank you! I mean, did you leave the front file folder empty and that is what is glued to the inside cover? :)
Yes, the first file folder was left empty (no scrapbook paper) so the book cover (or cardboard) could be attached. I really appreciate you asking questions! ✌
How did you attach the front cover and back cover
Hi Jeanie! 😊 I used Fabritac glue for both front and back. It works great on book covers.
Thanks for watching! ✌
Don't use double sided tape - I made that mistake a few years ago. It will come undone and the ephemera will stick to the edges where the tape is. Glue is better bec it actually dries. I think it is better to sew the edges and just make one with that - but they have to be the same on both sides - and it takes more time. However - glue does work - just not tape - at least in the long run.
