- Big Country - In A Big Country - Princes Trust Live - 1986. HD
Big Country is an internationally-renowned Scottish rock band formed in Dunfermline, Fife in 1981.
The height of the band's popularity was in the 1980s, although it retained a cult following for many years after, including the release of several further titles. The band's music was most recognisable for the sounds it infused with Scottish folk and martial music styles, as well as for playing and engineering their guitar driven sound to evoke the inspirational spirit of bagpipes, fiddles and other traditional folk instruments.
That bass tone. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Simply majestic. Whoa!
Man, that bassist's got grooves!
I've never seen you look like this without a reason

Love it, love it, love it. "Come off the floor screaming." THAT's rock n roll. Love the way their Scottish roots come through int he music.
Ain't He Just!!!
Brilliant live band 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🎶🎶
Your name will never die, Stuart Adamson
totally fuck'n awesome! no other musician can bring up sounds like this! God bless Big Country, Sempr Fi!
I smile at this because it just reinforces my knowledge that BC was the best band ever and Stuart, if you only knew how much you saved us. You, Bruce, Tony and Mark. You were not 'just a band'. I listen to a lot of music of different genres over decades and I dare to say, BC was as innovative as the Beatles, Black Sabbath, The Tragically Hip and Bach.
I don't miss Stuart as much as I miss the chance of meeting him. I travelled to Dunfermline in 2005 as part of a UK journey and I just sat there. I don't know what i expected to happen. I just know I thought a lot about Mark, Tony, Bruce and Stuart and wondered how the world could bring these 4 people together and give me the grace to hear them.
Bigcountry
Amen bro, Sempr Fi!
Beautiful sentiment. I think there is a lot of us that feel like you do about BC. So unique and talented.
Stuart was the same age as me. When I watch his videos from 1983-1986, I can see myself in a way that I do not any other time.
I feel also there is much not known about the band and would to know about them at their peak.
Are there any museums or gallery’s in the UK that have their story and or artifacts displayed?
SA...such a sad ending to his life. Perhaps his children will read this know how much he was admired.
Stuart Adamson love you, your style amazing! !!!!
Love the guitar that sounds like bagpipes...Priceless
Love that bag pipe sound good job of incorporating it into a rock song
It's a geeetar.
Authentic, Tremendous band Big Country !!
love how the Scottish sing 😊
That was the 1st time I ever heard those sounds from the Scottish Highlands.
I love this band and this song in particular!! ♡♡¤¤☆☆
Great band and song. R.I.P. to the lead singer.

wow the solo at the end
Una maravillosa banda ¡ saludos desde mexico
I had no idea this song was so old! I always assumed it was from the mid 90s.
Powerful performance.
Re. Stuart Adamsons vocals....The guy is suffering from a cold/ throat infection and is struggling through, probably because they were contracted to do the show....trust me, as a singer myself I have been in this situation and it's not a great place to be....They also did Look Away at this gig, cutting the double choruses drown to singles to cut Stuart some slack.....during which he commented "sair throat n'aw" meaning he was there, sore throat and all.....Tony's vocals would have been turned up to try and bolster the main melody line, but as he was used to his harmony line, faultered a wee bit at the start....all in all a great performance from a great band on an off night.....Still, it's still a million times better than the incarnation that's doing the rounds this weather...RIP Stuart...
Even with all that he was still awesome. Better than many or should I say most.

tony buttler style. Too good.
Fuckin Don Johnson style... a ja
Pete Townsend thought so too.
Tony Butler is simply THE SHIT.
Never forgotten the song!So great the country England…Sound's just like China!…
+田進椿 It's Scotland, son. Look at your map.
The day Stuart played whilst being sick with the flu.
Big Country was so far ahead of other "poppy" bands like U2 and Duran Duran. But in the end "poppy" wins over talent.
What is that, a tele he's playing? It looks cool as shit. Love Big Country
It's a Schecter
It’s actually a custom Jimmy Moon telecaster prototype. It has “Stuart” in pearl on the headstock. Check it out on Jimmy Moon guitars website. Beautiful guitar. :)
MTV!!!

Typically Scottish out front and brutally honest!

IN A BIG COUNTRY not IN THE BIG COUNTRY
He sounds like he's struggling
I was about to ask what the hell is going on with his voice...
The recording is fked it has been slowed down, the lip movements do not match the sound. have a proper look next time.
Watch this - IABC - the song that changed Mike Peter's life:
