It saddens me seeing time flying by so fast. I would love to see the Rollins Band once more live and in full effect. Unforgettable and awe-inspiring experience
They opened their set with “step back”.... at Woodstock... the first words they heard from Rollins was him telling them how “fucking weak” they were.... Rollins Band is the shit... remember being 13 and watching that show on the jerrold box converter for free... cut lawns all summer to buy my first guitar after seeing that. Was truly blown away and changed the course of my life
And “Sugar” Sim Cain is an animal... Melvin Gibbs a boss... Chris Haskett is beast.Rollins is a legend... Theo Von Rock keeping it sounding perfect. Goddamn man
I could not agree more! This is EXACTLY what I think when I watch his live performances. This was not a heavy metal concert. Some people were there to see Sheryl Crow. It was a pretty eclectic mix of music that weekend. But look at that crowd and how into it they are. I doubt many people were trying to create enough space for their friend to film them while they shuffled. I doubt many people retreated to their cars to hit dabs, disgustedly saying to their friends “what the fuck is this?! It’s ruining the whole vibe!” Probably more like “who the fuck is this?! Let’s go nuts!” People seemed to appreciate music more back then, across all spectrums.
It’s hilarious that musicians like Steven Tyler plan their outfits when performing and Henry Rollins is like “I’m wearing my gun shorts and nothing else and don’t give a shit!” He lets his music do the taking for him.
Rollins was a warrior on stage!! There was no-one like him. He was living out his dream. All the people that told him he wouldnt amount to anything, he threw it back in their face. He could care less about the fame, he was in it for accomplishment and self respect.

I took some friends to see the Henry Rollins Band at the Silver Dollar in Toronto, they didnt know who he was just a "very heavy rock show" I told them. the audience was so lit and rowdy all my company of friends joined in to the mosh pit, shirts were ripped off, a nose broken and glasses and a shoe was lost. One of the best nights we ever had as young 20 somethings. Thanks Henry for the experience man, we still laugh at the fun insanity
I remember watching this in 94 with my dad on PPV and he recorded it on VHS. Fast forward to 99 when i started getting into playing music and dug out some old VHS tapes and ran across this again and really started diving into Rollins band primus Metallica. Music isn't the same now as it was in 94
Early 1990s: The last time rock was truly relevant, subversive, and dangerous to the mainstream. There are still great artists, and great albums, and great shows coming from the rock music genre, but hip-hop took its place as a cultural force during the mid-90s while Clear Channel Communications neutered originality, demanded conformity, and let rock strangle on its own advancing age.
In 2 years rock will be huge again, SS this. It'll have hip hop elements like a lot of new rock does now, and it'll be huge. It's the natural result of all these kids grabbing old band tees cause it looks cool
Rollings is so great here. Anyone know what has him so disillusioned with music after his solo stint? He said he has no interest in music or performing.
his vocals are so on point and he is still running around and shit. so many singers could not do the exact sound of the record and do all the jumping at the same time.
I have a playlist of great rock & roll performances and I can't leave this one off the list. Rollins is a force of nature, with "Search and Destroy" on his back. I'm sure he'll do other great things in his life, he is driven.
Not to rub it in your face. I saw him twice. The first time had Helmet opening. Amazing live! So much energy in their performance and music, Might be my favorite concert. I have never seen him do his spoken word. I had a CD of his spoken word back in the day.
THE SHIT...I had the CD with these songs. But I lost it,I saw a copy at Goodwill.I grabbed it like it was a gold coin, to my ears it is.I play it every day in my car.It is by far the most intense music I own.If I was on a long tour having to play the same thing every night, this would be the music that I would hope to play.I especially LOVE the Bass..This is the style of playing and music that gets me off like few others..
There are several things I admire about Hank, but one of the biggest was no matter how many fans came to see them perform (hundreds of thousand or tens of people) that band always brought the energy each and every time. I saw four Rollins Bands shows during the 90s, and every single one of them were savage.

Seeing this performance on PPV when I was 15 changed my life. I recorded it on VHS and watched it hundreds of times and I still have the tape.
You have the complete Rollings Band show? As you can see, this is not the entire performance.
better take care of who youre telling that. wouldnt want henry to show up to your house today and beat you the fuck up for copyright infringment.

Yes I’m probably no longer able to swing an axe 🎸 when anyone threatened our little family’s safety or fire 🔥 as we were burning it up as soon as we’d hit and ran in a space of an hour heading to a few more if not; just would never pull that with Henry +Co as we’ve been beaten; batters and bloody 🩸 before we ever floated out on the stages of 🇺🇸 Amerikkka, Fuck Yeah!! I treasured the moments when we’d taken the 🌎 by storm to see our name in lights just a line beneath another stellar band of gypsies; anyone from The Cramps to the Ramones..end of a century indeedy! Sincerely yours truly xoxo 😘 David J Goldbaum- Boston, Massachusetts 02134 🇺🇸 Ya’know da rest..

Is that music about peace and love maaan ??? Hmmm , Don't think sooo ....
I know who stopped the rain the day before and who brought the rain that morning during the Rollins Band concert , even though the announcer said right before they started playing ," we don't know who stop the rain from falling yesterday, but today there's not a single cloud in the entire state of New York ". Go back and listen the archives.
I was there too maaan (28 years old) and i was in '99 Woodstock.

Rollings is so great here. Anyone know what has him so disillusioned with music after his solo stint? He said he has no interest in music or performing.
I seen this live in 94 and was only 22 years old. Still rocks to to this day.
Same here. I was 24. Never been so muddy but had so much fun.
Thank you!
More than welcome mate.
'I think I'm gonna fuck with you.'
Wild man Henry !
Third greatest Woodstock performance after Jimi and limp bizkit
Are you putting Limp Bizkit in the same sentence as Hendrix and Rollins Band? Check your head mate.
You obviously never watched the 69 Woodstock concert. The Who, Janis Joplin, Santana, Joe Cocker, Richie Havens...
In 1994 it was:
NIN
Blind Melon
Primus
2021 Disconnect more relevant than ever!
