For all the Rollins haters, this guy has humility and intelligence, sings and writes with passion and is very observant of people and society, one of the true punk rockers of my generation, so fucking what if you don't agree with his attitudes and opinions, they're his and he doesn't pretend otherwise, if you don't like it get out there and voice your own opinions, keep free speech alive!
Lmao he wasn't on steroids you fucking idiot. Are you an expert on testosterone or anabolic steroids? If you were you would know that his physique isn't abnormally large and is quite possible without chemical help and if you knew anything about him you would know working out is his release.
Lmao he looks his age dude and also that is completely untrue, the way steroids work is they give you a massive testosterone boost, that boost causes your body to stop producing its own testosterone because there is such an abundance, then when you stop taking them and "crash" as you put it, your body takes about 3-4 months to start producing testosterone again, after which you are back to normal and some studies indicate even hightened levels in comparison to pre-steroid usage levels, never have I ever read or seen anything about looking 20 years older. Also if he had been taking them his whole life like you are most likely suggesting, he would experience many health issues, but why, with all of his money would he stop? The downsides are drastic and testosterone replacement therapy (or TRT) literally slows down the aging process massively. It's clear to me that he doesn't take them not only from his lack of size but also his personality and work ethic, and the fact that if he ever was taking them, he would now be on a doctors recommended dosage of TRT which would have him looking younger. I don't know why you are so desperate to try to take something away from Rollins lol Envy? Low self opinion?
Looking back I forgot just how good the entire band is. They often are looked at as a vehicle for Henry's vocals and nothing else, but this was truly a BAND in the classic sense.
I missed the whole Black Flag thing in rural Australia . I couldn't name one Black Flag song quite frankly. This is the band and the Henry Rollins I was introduced to and admire to this day.
I saw Rollins with Tool back in 94 and 95 !!! Fantastic days . Add to this Monster Magnet , Kyuss , Rage Against the Machine , Porno For pyros , Faith No More , >>>> and U fly
man, look at the distance between the stage and the audience !! been a huge huge fan of Henry since 1982, and I still find him to be a huge inspiration to me, this must have been one crazy gig to be at !!
Wanted to go to this but couldn't get a group of friends together. Funny thing is that now I live about 25 mi away from the site where they held it! And I'm about 60 mi away from the orig Woodstock site.
I have to say I became a fan of Rollins. I have heard of "Black Flag" (some punk band he was with in the 70's) when I was younger, living in a rural area (not a lot of music choices--but I heard of the name Black Flag at least). But the "Weight" Rollins CD helped me a bit. When this song "Liar" hit the radio (in the city I recently moved to at the time), I picked up that CD. like every kid, we had to struggle some with self esteem issues, finding your self, (many never do,--too many). For some reason when younger, I thought my slight self esteem problems were more than most, but I think I was wrong now. Rollins had a song on that "Weight" CD called "Shine", that has a great positive message to have (earn) confidence and do something with your life. A YELLING voice like that, (he is no Opera), BOOMS a good message into you---like a train. If you have "given up" on your future,---listen to that song a few times. "IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE 100 YEARS TO MESS AROUND,--YOUR WRONG!!! YOUR TIME IS HERE, YOUR TIME IS NOW, THIS TIME IS YOURS, IT'S TIME TO SHINE, --------SHINE SHINE SHINE SHINE!!! Like a train I tell ya. :)
Jeeech, I don't even remember posting that. Not bad I guess, reading it now. Everybody in western culture has had a good life compared to the thousands of years before it. We learned how to build things when liberty started being cool, cool enough to form the USA with people free to do cool things, like find a way to use electricity, cool things like that, (you have to be free to think the best). I have had a pretty cool life, and it is because I have lived in what is left of our liberty. I started with nothing, flipped burgers through my first college degree to be a machinist, moved to a city, worked more and got 2 more degrees in manufacturing and quality engineering, self paid, (paying while I worked full time, 2 or 3 classes a semester), eventually got enough skill to start a business. Found a good guy to sell my stuff, and I am not getting rich, but for a few year there I made more money than any union worker in the world, and was free as a bird after I was able to quit my last machine shop job (of which I had many, and gained a lot of skill). Dirt bikes, motorcycles, were a affordable rage for a kid in the 70's, and I bought brand new bikes every 2 years making $1.00/hr as a young teenager. My business today is modifying similar engines for racing and fun in RC cars and scooters. Now you may be able to see why I love the philosophies of individual liberty (Aristotle and Ayn Rand), and love a citizen owned free enterprise system. We are losing both, our liberty, and our right to use our minds to achieve in production/business. I don't want to be the last one, who came from nothing, and had a good life. I am glad I learned how to make things, because it was the factory that got mankind out of poverty.
Rex M Rollins goes bearfoot (and shirtless with gym shorts) because he sweats like a hog's anus during performances. He doesn't want to ruin his regular clothes.
The sound was pretty good for the 94 Woodstock. You can hear the Green Day section and hear how they sounded clean and loud. Good Sound guys on the Mixers back then with good ears. Today lol good luck.
If you dont like it, dont listen to it. This song is like a jam almost, so smooth and beautiful, i would gladly pay to see this live and im glado that you wont be there with me :)
The first interpretation for the song is that Henry talks about someone ELSE lying to you. A deeper meaning of the song, that works equally as well if not better... is that Henry is talking about your OWN mind. It is a song about your self / ego. How your own mind keeps you locked into a bubble, where your thoughts say "everything you've ever wanted to hear". Therefore, preventing you from seeing outside of your beliefs and self image. The ego is like.." an endless love ballet". "Don't you get it yet?" ... Listen to the song again. It's an invitation to see that you will always hear in your mind everything you've heard before. That your own mind puts you down and can drive you insane unless you see it for what it is.
But you can't be trapped by this infinite replay of cow turds. Gotta occupy the mind with something in the present, so slowly old bad stuff starts being replaced, or at least lose priority in the brain's task list. Music, videogames, art, one-night-stands on Tinder, just live the now.
Geezer tataa : The philosophy of this message is straight from Frank Zappa... there is more bad than good in the world; there are more bad people than good people in the world. If you live your life knowing this, you'll have fewer disappointments. Simple truth. No expectations leads to fewer disappointments. Trust no one. No such word as friend. However, if by chance, something good does happen to you or you meet a good person, well, all the better. I've always liked Henry. He's genuine. No poser here!
Totally love this. Raw, angry, subversive with a strong message. Brilliant. Don't do many acts like this these anymore. However a few contemporary acts who seem to have some substance and go against the shitty mainstream are acts like Rage Against the Machine, Immortal technique, NIN, Sage Francis, B Dolan, Tricky, Death Grips, AllFlaws
Just shared a link to my this from my blog in honour of the UK General Election tomorrow. Dedicated to David Cameron, Ed Milliband and Nicola Sturgeon.
The start of this song sounds a bit like porno music, seductive and inviting like when "you meet me", then it builds to the refrain to reveal the ugly hidden reality.
*Its funny that woodstocks slogan was "2 more days of peace", even though they brought Henry on stage, that is the consept of dropping a Match into a pit of gasoline...*
Jason Clarke he also pumped himself up with roids.
Lmao he wasn't on steroids you fucking idiot. Are you an expert on testosterone or anabolic steroids? If you were you would know that his physique isn't abnormally large and is quite possible without chemical help and if you knew anything about him you would know working out is his release.
Murray Borman when people crash on steroids they look like he does now. 20 yrs older than his age.

Murray Borman you're right, he probably stopped taking in his vitamin c that makes him look like he is 80. You certainly proved me wrong.
I was there. Up front stage right. 17 years old. One of the best memories of my life.
Lucky bastard

Looking back I forgot just how good the entire band is. They often are looked at as a vehicle for Henry's vocals and nothing else, but this was truly a BAND in the classic sense.
Die Band ist einfach Mega. Das passt alles so super zusammen 🎉 und Riffs vom Gitarristen brutal Lyrisch❤❤❤
I missed the whole Black Flag thing in rural Australia . I couldn't name one Black Flag song quite frankly. This is the band and the Henry Rollins I was introduced to and admire to this day.
That bass is awsome i love the wah pedal on it
The one dislike was probably Henry.
I'd say it was from Robert Smith if Henry's The Cure story is correct.
Or ya mums bum😂
😅💖
I'm officially deceased of laughter good sir/ma'am.
There are no dislikes anymore, dude!😉😆 Just Henry Rollins, the Liar!😉😆😂🤣👌👌👏👏👏👏

Don't ever miss a chance to see him do a speaking appearance -- he'll have you laughing for hours! Met him at one, an intensely cool dude.

Great song, and the band never got the credit it deserved. Guitar, bass, and drums -- all very top notch.
We were so young ;-)...
Wanted to go to this but couldn't get a group of friends together. Funny thing is that now I live about 25 mi away from the site where they held it! And I'm about 60 mi away from the orig Woodstock site.
Rollins you are an absolute 100% pure LEGEND! His energy is incredible!

Check out his album hot animal machine. It is fantastic. Just search on youtube and you'll find the full album
In the Rollins band, footwear is optional.
Oh yeah - Rollins always looked like a Martial artist - those guys rarely wear shoes . Better stability on stage , grounded , powerful .
Better feel of the pedalboard switches :)
well spotted mate
Rex M Rollins goes bearfoot (and shirtless with gym shorts) because he sweats like a hog's anus during performances. He doesn't want to ruin his regular clothes.
what about electrical shock?
Ahhh he was the commencement speaker at my graduation! So random yet so BADASS!
What a story teller. Brilliant.

Tight band right here!
Rollins kicked ass man. Killed this performance.
In this whole industry Henry is THE MAN. He's like Ron Swonson of music
One of the best songs ever made the clip is perfect as well.

That’s deep bro!! True?

the dark side of human being and one of the few persons on this planet who are talking about it (in front of an audience)
Geezer tataa : The philosophy of this message is straight from Frank Zappa... there is more bad than good in the world; there are more bad people than good people in the world. powerful stuff
"in order to be grateful for light we have to go through some darkness" or some shit like that
Totally love this. Raw, angry, subversive with a strong message. Brilliant.

Love every band listed here, and agreed that they're all artists who fuck conventional songwriting and messaging. Hell yeah.
Great performance! And i like the change up in lyrics. Raw power as can be expected.
bin groß geworden mit dem mann Danke Henry
I saw Rollins Band play a club around this time that was smaller than the stage at this gig !!!!!

Then the skies opened up and we got dumped on for hours! Rollins just shouted, "HERE COMES THE RAIN MUTHER F**KERS!!!! And it sure did!
I was there!!! Awesome show!
It's so weird man, every time I look at Henry Rollins in this video I think of Jim Carey in The Cable Guy, but in a distorted way...

Oh Henry. Who hurt you? Lol. Love this guy.
The start of this song sounds a bit like porno music, seductive and inviting like when "you meet me", then it builds to the refrain to reveal the ugly hidden reality.
Jimi Jones This isn't a shitty Limp Bizkit concert.
That's the nuts bustin'.

I love Henry Rollins, Bon Scott, and Lou Reed.

*Its funny that woodstocks slogan was "2 more days of peace", even though they brought Henry on stage, that is the consept of dropping a Match into a pit of gasoline...*
This God of training and politics reminds me of my brother Bowie
