Like others have said...great technique and video! Thank you. I changed to an 8ft which is bigger than I’m used to. My 8 year-old son now throws objects in the pool and he has made a scoring system for the number and difficulty of the objects I land in the net. I’m scoring much higher now thanks to you😊

I have never thrown a cast net. I used this technique on my new net and threw 4 perfect throws straight away. Great effort George.

This is the best method i have seen. I was able to make a beautiful round cast after watching this video for the first time 5 mins ago. Thank you very much I may have a chance at the mullet schools now :). Practice makes perfect but even messing this style up opens the net nice and wide.

Probably one of the best "How to" videos on youtube. What I like about this method....you don't put lead in your mouth, stay fairly dry and easy to learn. Perfect cast on 2nd try.

I've watched dozens of videos on throwing cast nets and never seen this way of loading the net. Looks really good. Looks like school was let out before your second throw!

Been throwing Cast Nets for years and came across this video by accident it was different from my own style, but it so easier to do and I don't get wet works on 10 foot nets also if you haven't tried it, you should you'd be surprised even an old dog like me
can learn new tricks.

He’s an expert. looks easy but its hard everyone just have to keep practicing and find their own way. People with these techniques can never have someone in the video that has never thrown a cast net and have them consistently throwing the same

I noticed that on the first cast on your right hand the thumb was pointed up and on the second cast you grab the net with the thumb on your right hand pointed down does this make a difference in how you release the net?

I just found your site. and I subbed. I do have a question. How big of cast net should a person start out with and also how good of a net should I buy? Where is a good place to buy one?
That appears to be the most logical way to throw a cast net. I am going to try it this afternoon. I have tried a half dozen others and I do know that everyone seems to do it differently. I have had limited success with the others. I just don't seem to spin it out right with them. I'll post my results.

I’m a 14 year old and for some reason *maybe I’m not tall or strong enough* it does not open maybe there is something wrong with how I throw it. Can someone please tell me what am I doing wrong?
Make sure you always wrap pinky to thumb, that's handline as well as net. You also need to pay attention to how big you make your coils, if your line is super long you don't have to put it all in your hand just make sure you don't tangle it in your throw.

This won’t work on heavier nets, your net looks very light. I use this method for my cheap light net but it’s impossible to do this with heavy professional nets. You have to use the triple load.
