I also have a 2021 RT. In this day and age I expect technology to instantly work, especially with such an expensive ‘toy’. I hate to mess around with the clean look of the cockpit, but if BMW don’t sort out these issues PDQ I’ll be fitting a TomTom above the screen. What a shame to have to make such a comment! Thanks for admitting something I have suspected applies to BMW's system, something I complain about regarding many computerized systems - the programmers' hands should be broken after 15 minutes of system design to keep it from becoming so complex that even they have no idea how to navigate through its menus.
Once the Connected App is ready with the route, there's a blue button on the phone map screen I sometimes need to touch to start map mode up on the bike. Also, new nav vid about to drop.
Thanks for a great intro. Really appreciate your patience and your logical approach to working through this. I use the NavVI so am keen to see the differences. Can I ask, can you set the map view to include the speed limit of the road on the Map? I find this so useful when I’m unsure of what the limit is. Also, do you know if it will sync to Cyclops or similar for speed camera warnings? Thanks
I've not seen a way to put the speed limit on the map itself, but with the map on the right side the limit shows up on the left-hand-side of the display.
That’s why I sold my nav 6 connecting 3 Things nav phone headset nightmare I only use iPhone 11 and sena headset 2 things to connect works perfectly every time connecting instantly and never drops out BMW have a real problem getting things to work together I sold my nav 6 because of issues your having great bikes crap Connectivity
BMW should have installed a Nav system to the bike just like the Honda Gold Wing. Such an amazing TFT and you cannot get the 100% performance out of it! Too bad and sad!
I buy 500mb (£5) per month and hardly touch it. It's an expensive per-GB way of buying data because it disappears after 30 days, but there's no lower option.

Downloading the maps onto your phone is the only data you will use and you can do that where ever you've got access to wi-fi.
