Painting 60 Elysian D99 Drop troops - The Anphelion Project
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лип 2024
- Greetings Warhammer 40k, Anphelion project and Elysian drop troops fans! In this video we return to our Anphelion project series, today we tackle one of the biggest tasks we needed to face, repainting 60 infantry in the scheme of the D99. The Elysians were originally painted in a standard Elysian scheme and thus needed repainting to fit in with our anphelion project.
We had a great time painting these guys and are very happy with how they have turned out.

Sorting Hat stuff:
In Warhammer 40k, the task of painting Elysian drop troops from the renowned D99 Elysians regiment is both a labor of devotion and an artistic endeavor. These elite soldiers, revered for their prowess in airborne assaults and lightning-fast maneuvers, epitomize the grit and determination of humanity amidst the grim darkness of the far future. Whether meticulously detailing the camouflaged patterns of their carapace armor or capturing the fierce determination in their eyes as they descend upon the battlefield, painting Elysian drop troops allows hobbyists to immerse themselves in the rich lore and thrilling battles of Warhammer 40k. From recreating the iconic scenes of the Anphelion Project, where the D99 Elysians valiantly fought against the insidious forces of the Tyranids, to envisioning new narratives and conflicts on the tabletop, every brushstroke brings these valiant warriors to life. As hobbyists embark on this creative journey, they delve into the intricate lore of the Warhammer 40k universe, exploring the history and traditions of the D99 Elysians while honing their skills in miniature painting. Through their craft, they pay homage to the heroic sacrifices made by these brave soldiers and contribute to the ever-expanding tapestry of narratives woven within the Warhammer 40k universe. So, whether it's recreating the harrowing drops of the Elysian drop troops or delving into the mysteries of the Anphelion Project, painting Warhammer 40k miniatures provides a gateway to endless adventures and creative expression. - Розваги

Duncan's paints are excellent. Probably the best on the market.
Brilliant rework! I dig them. Hello Mrs Snakeworks, nice video! 👍 🙂❤️
Thank you very much! Yes we are pleased they are now in the "correct" scheme. What would you like you see painted next?
Took my 10yo to watch Frozen Empire and it did enough fan service to keep ke as a 40something yo happy and my son loved it.
Loved the video btw, it was very fun with the alternate narration.
My compliments sir, as always. Cadia stands, Elysia leads the way
Are you an Elysian fan?
I have 2500pts, managed to grab a load before the great purge.
They look like the GI Joe Sci-fi Awesome❤
Are you a GI Joe fan ?
@@SnakeWorksStudio YoJoe!!!
@@SnakeWorksStudio Lil bit
Great vid as always! I'm liking those green fatigues way more than I thought I would.
I do agree that those proAcryl bottles, specifically the nozzles are pretty horrific, although I do understand that since I purchased them ages ago, they have released a separate type of nozzle to buy as an extra. I think they are more like "regular" nozzles.
I'm hoping to be able to print a close replica of the Anphelion base scenery sometime, as it's one of the things I regret missing out on the most!
Did you hear about the cheese factory that exploded in France?
There was nothing left but de Brie.
Such a cheesy joke..
🖤
They look good to me! :D I’ve just got some and trying to figure out how I’m gonna paint them, so this is helping a lot :) thanks!
That’s excellent! Most people go with the “normal” scheme but I think other ones do look nice! What have you got in mind?
@@SnakeWorksStudio honestly I’m not 100% certain. I’ve got both wheeled vehicles, a sniper squad and a launcher squad. That’s it currently. Then I’m looking at getting more, and 3D printed.
I like the “normal” scheme, but I’m also down for trying something new. I like the colour orange…? 🤷♂️😂 any suggestions? 😂
@@PaintsOnA4Uprange jump suits with light grey armour would look cool I reckon
Orange!
@@SnakeWorksStudio I’ll see what I can do with that…
Awesome colour scheme! Reminds me of the Zeon pilots from Gundam!
I’ve never seen Gundam. Is it worth a watch?
@@SnakeWorksStudio I think so! I prefer the more ‘realistic/gritty’ One Year War stuff so The Origin, MS IGLOO, War in the Pocket, The 08th MS Team are all highly recommended!
I think they look better before
Sorry to disappoint!
@@SnakeWorksStudio but they are allright thoug
Don’t know what a Elysian is but my pile of orcs is above infinite.
That’s a lot of painting to do! Which clan will they be?
@@SnakeWorksStudio No one… not use to follow the GW lore… but will seem some like Snakebites…
D99, more like D69!
Noice! Webbing is the harness type thing you wear with a bunch of pouches attached to it. Separate from anything else, but you can change out the pouches for whatever on the harness itself. The plate carrier (bullet proof vest bit) is *not* part of the webbing.
Webbing is very good for putting mars bars in.
So were the strapping bits webbing?
@@SnakeWorksStudio Essentially, if its on the torso. Imagine all in one suspenders with pouches worn like a waistcoat...Can also get webbing belts worn... Well, around the waist.
Those Tamiya sponges open from the bottom.
I read the body armor as more sage than green-blue.
Ive noticed in digital versions the colours are different dependent on source. its hard to replicate the official artwork
Madonna's best song is Borderline from the 1983 album Madonna. It's the sound track to transient moments of passionate mad perfunctory love.
I will give it another listen
Pink is on tour in 2024
Will you be watching her?
I will not

Please don't get any better at proof reading the scripts - the laughter over mispronunciations between you two is by far the most entertaining part of these videos 😂😂😂😂😂
Ha I will try to pay less attention to them
@@SnakeWorksStudio Mrs Snakeworks will be thrilled!! 😂
Don’t know why, but I have gotten the urge to play Streets of rage 1…
Hmm I can’t think why! Haha are you a fan of the series?
@@SnakeWorksStudio I play 1 and 2. I think I stopped there. The cangaroo was too much for me. But was surprised it was continued to our days with new games for new generation. Remember fondly my old Megadrive…
Type your scripts, I'm sure Mrs. Snakeworks would appreciate it. :P
1:50 - Oh Lord what heresy is this? That poor Celestine..
2:46 - “Sanding sponges in her drawers for years” … now THAT’s grim dark!
Damnit! You’re inspiring me to paint my Adepta Sororitas army pile-o-shame that I purchased in 2020 and was meant to assemble during that… Nurgle infested … year!
Glossy Blk base trims look horrible?…😢
I’m not a fan! I like them matte
@@SnakeWorksStudio so not satin then?..lol
It's pronounced ill she uns!!!
No way!!!
Love the Mrs. S'works' narration. Hate the pure heresy ya'll were spouting about Pro Acryl bottles! You should be ashamed of yourself. Shame. Shame.
Those tips are drippy! the paint is great though.
@@SnakeWorksStudio Your tip is drippy! Yeah, they do shove some paint out the tip when you close the nozzle. It's kind of a pain, but it stops paint from drying in the nozzle. I usually just dab mine on the palette after i close it. Solves most of the problem.
