I really like a good Ork related story. Always some good action. As usual, Imperium Intelligence underestimating Ork numbers! Is it any wonder the Astra Militarum always get into a slug fest with Orks! Excellent story.

Who is to blame? The Raven Guard - they were in charge of recon and it was sorely lacking.

Superb reading, love hearing about those space punk and goth crazy orks and their rust-bucket rokkit-strapped bat-shit crazy armies! Just a heads-up; mangy is pronounced mane-jee not man-gee. As for the cordite; it's possible, seeing that Orks would use anything for a propellant.
