The big maps let us play jets how they were irl like for notching with modern missiles you basically just dive away and run it out of energy
they also suck if you are trying to grind the tech tree
These maps fucking suck saying its like how they were irl is fucking horseshit you never ever have had 12 v12 missile spam irl it still ends up being a cluster fuck in the middle and ending in 6 minuted

@@catter9lives300 stop grinding and just play the game for what it is, dogfight and BVR fight, enjoy intercepting enemies and outplaying their tactics, the SL and XP won’t stop coming if you just play the game for fun and the challenge.
@Thommy Gomez I don't want to spend 6 minutes to get to the enemy it isn't fun just sitting there doing nothing. I get that some people do find this fun, I just have a major problem about them basically forcing these massive maps on us with only giving us one small map. I play war thunder the arcadey feel if I wanted to play something more realistic I would just play DCS.
I think the big maps do justice to these jets and also introduces the fuel management and planning ahead, being able to climb and also bombing bases is much easier because you can sneak past due to map size.
Easier to grind for the 29 9.12 with the Tornado Marineflieger. Or would it be better to grind with the 23 MLA ?

@@jamaga7331 i wasnt sure cause on one side you get the 110% bonus, but with the Tornado I can get bases and ground targets which to my knowledge helps more when grinding ? I may be wrong.

God since ive got my mig29(ussr) ive gotten a 35km kill, and oh my its been soo fun, these video have helped me in doing bvr kills

I absolutly know what you mean. I play the F-14 like this with the Phoenix (I most of the time take a realistic loadout with 4 AIM-54 and 2 AIM-7). It is just statisfying to habe this long BVR-Shots hitting
they need to change back the map sizes for non-top tier matches, subsonic around 9-10br is pure pain
I was getting runway to runway kills with the r27er on its release it wasn't common but it was a mean missile same with the Phoenix I tend to fly sim more and my current loadout is 2 aim9h 4 aim54 Phoenix and 2 sparrows as the stand off capability of the Phoenix is amazing I rarely have to exit tws mode and most the time I have squad mates that are flying f16s etc I just can't wait for the aamrams the nightmare they will present to the game

Hello Mat, really like your videos. May i have 2 questions ? Like to know your opinion. 1) F- 16 so far I know about it. It was first fighter with fly-by-wire. But in game its working on hydraulic from cockpit. If you get hit to one part of it whole aircraft doesnt work. Should be different in game right ?. 2) As much as i love getting new fighters. Dont you think the game should give us more planes not just a new fighters? example like F-111, SU- 24, Mirage IV.. attackers and bomber. Just let me know what you think we can expect in futere. Hey whats your thoughhs aboout the changes to the SACLOS targeting making the missiles far less reponsive and therefore less potent by a big margin against top tier CAS?

I agree 100% they need to add more Ground Units hell they could even add Realistic Ground battles tank players only on the maps with Cap areas in one zone of the map any thing thou would be better then just Empty unused space.
also contrails are really helpfull at super long range now
yeah it’s nice but they appear way too low irl it’s like 8km minimum until they show up (wt is 5km)

The size of the map is actually increasing, which is actually a method of reducing revenue.
If the income increases according to the size of the map, I will not complain.
Of course, BVR players are happy, but if you drive the attack aircraft, I can now go to the toilet, drink a cup of cola, and watch a short video. When I come back, I find that I am still going to the battlefield.
I forgot when I drank cola last time :P especially since the US ordered its vassal slaves in 'our' governments/bureaucracies they put to start economic self-destruct sequence known as 'anti-Russia sanctions' otherwise known as 'make rich richer and poor poorer and tell the poor theyre guilty and agents of Russia' scheme. i did that excactly with my F-16 ADF as it came out. very easy kills, unless a MiG-29 from the enemy is also climbing lol. With the F-16A i'm also climbing, but then i'm just overloocking the field and wait for potential Aim9L kills lol

Man, I’m excited for this jet, but I’m equally disappointed that it’s a better a better BVR platform than the F.3 in every metric, even radar atm. I hope they fix it.

What we need next are MAWS for IR missiles. IR missiles being basically stealth once the motor burns out is way too powerful

@@LewisB3217 yeah seriously. I've had matches where I've shot 2 R24Ts and 4 R60Ms, which are two of the best IR missiles in the game, and NONE OF THEM HIT SHIT

So glad the made the maps bigger cause top tier just didn't work on ww2 maps
The majority of top tier jet players have wanted the big EC/Sim maps to be more common in Air RB for a long while now. The problem is that it isn't just top tier jets seeing these maps regularly - these maps are regularly popping up at super props and early jets (F-80s, Me-262s, etc) which is just not what people wanted at all. And then there are things about it all that makes no sense.
Last night I was consistently having multiple EC/sim maps in a row while in my 7.3 262, but for some odd reason I was consistently getting the "regular" sized maps while in my 8.7 jets (G.91 R3, MiG-15bis, etc.)
As usual, Gaijin takes one step forward only to stumble two steps back.
I have an issue where my enemies notch or turn away as soon as I launch my missile :D

Yes there is? Germany got the MiG-21 Bis “Lazur” with update Apex Predators. It was their $70 premium. The only country who didn’t have a jet like that was the US, but they got one this update
I don't get the radar, I've tried for over an hour non-stop to get a BVR kill! Every time it loses lock at 15-10km no matter what mode i use (HDN or not) I have more success with the Mig-23 radar and R-24s and flying the F-16 is a guaranteed 1-2 sparrow kills each match..
About time I find a wt UA-camrs that understands bvr at least somewhat. We are about to see the death of multiple channels that can't adapt to new aircraft mechanics. I learned bvr off of growling sidewinder, he's on dcs.

Fully agree. What I cant understand are those people wanting their old Call of Duty airquake mode back with matches being over in 3 minutes. That was horrible.

@@traviscain3958 I just had a couple RB matches where people said otherwise - those wanted the "old" maps back where, quote "we dont have to fly for 5 minutes to get to combat". I responded something about the instant gratification needs of teenagers and forgot about it.
The other half was pleasantly surprised. And I myself had a couple dogfights. Yes, dogfights WITHOUT GETTING 3RD PARTIED.

@@SpicysaucedHD i played 6 matches in the f14 and they all ended in less then 10 minutes they really dont solve anything 6v6 would make top tier way better especially if there was multiple airfields to take off from because the 12v12 shit is not going to work when we get planes that can eventually carry more then 8 missiles just yeeting them across the map
@@traviscain3958 Play other nations and tiers then. I have now had multiple games that ended on tickets after the 25 minutes ran out. RB is basically EC now, just with the old time limit. You may have gotten unlucky.
Also keep in mind people need to adjust first, they still have the "lets all meet in the middle and die in 3 minutes" mindset.
I play sim normally, so the new RB meta is second nature to me. I have found back a bit of respect for the mouse mode actually, its fun now.
So many times it's been over before I even got a damn kill. Like, woohoo, we won, and I got ZERO silver lions or RPs to show for it

IF the Aim-7F actually performed like it should you would be able to kill a target up to 70km away, where as the game says its "lock range" is only 40. Also they hardly ever maintain proper lock... sigh.

Kinda wish we had mig29/f16 games with AIM9G’s only. There is no satisfaction in killing unsuspecting people or stock planes. I want my games to feel like the end battle in the original Top Gun.
And France gets shafted in the BVR department like it is in DCS. The 24nm range on the 530D is such a problematic issue and getting positioning to 40,000ft takes more time than the MIG-29 and the F-16. France is going to suffer until the 2000-5 and even that it is debatable.
I barely get good bvr maps always the small ones. How can I get more of the bigger maps
They really have to remove the missile cam now, you shouldn't be able to use BVR missiles as camera drones...
After all this updates, will the r73 ever be available or we are going to see su 27 flanker with r60ms?
It is going to be added probably next Update. They are still Stuck trying to implement something on the missile so, its still out of game

@@Excal500 current in-game RWR only gives lock warnings, not missile warnings.

its the same :)
RWRs can detect SARHs as long as they're CW guided. the ARHs also use CW guidance so most RWRs just give a missile warning when they detect CW illumination.
6:50 why complicate the matter? it all depends how good radar is, is not even hard...what is hard is understand the bad and the good radars and what they are campable to do...that the main point ppl need understand. Theres a reason people usely use "beyond visual targeting (10km)" and not "normal radar targeting".

You should also do an Updated Controls for the new aircraft. When you have time of course, but it would help a lot of new players as well. But love the MIG-29 Video

such longrange kills are just possible cause the RWRs and the radar angels in game are just BS.
If everyone is rocking R-27ERs the least gaijin can do is give us AIM-7P... wtf man
AIM-7M and P, even in very optimistic high altitude shots, would still get slightly outranged by the ER, and both would also lack the inertial guidance the ER has. The R-27ER will probably remain the best radar guided missile until we get active radar homing ones like the AMRAAM and such
@@jfv2312 and when AMRAAM comes R-27EA is an active variant that will still out range AIM-120A, though not as maneuverable IIRC.
@@jacobbaumgardner3406 the problem is, R-27EA never was adopted by Russia, only prototypes of it were fired from Mig-29 and Su-27, and information on it is relatively scarce. R-77 is what many people contemplate as the counter to AIM-120A/B, and despite the AMRAAM having better target tracking and the possibility to be fired completely "blind", the R-77 would still have notably superior range and maneouverability. The balance of Fox-3 missiles in game will be a nightmare...
@@jfv2312 the R-27ER is already causing a nightmare, but I totally agree. I have no idea how they’ll balance it. Methinks this updates medium big maps are a testing of the waters.
They’ve added entirely fictional aircraft this patch so who knows. R-77 is 80km range and Aim-120A is 50km, so they’ll have to figure out how to correct that. Did Su-27 even fire The first R-77 or only later variants?

big maps is good only for flying mig 29, f-16\14, but when you trying to grind, or playing jet without 30+km missiles big maps is piece of shit
Yeah there really isn't any point to the big maps when it's basically they just moved the airfields farther back and didn't touch anything else. Now Max tier matches just last like 7 mins instead of 5.
R27er1 in Germany is fake
It received them for balancing purposes I believe
