Just when I thought sales may not be for me, you reminded me of a principle that made me enjoyed sales: loving what the product does for your customer. Also, the point about 8/9 of the people in America engaging in sales 40% of the time when they aren't professional salespeople was impressive. You got me VA, thank you. Sales is the most unsecured and hardest career for the following reasons.
1- Sales is a number game, if you don't achieve your monthly sales Quotas or simply Targets you will be out in 2-3 months time, job hunting
2- How hard you work, efforts you make, how friendly or honest to your prospective clients are no use and in vain if you don't archive your sales targets.
3- Your Manager is your best buddy as long as you archive or exceed the monthly sales targets, if you under perform or don't archive sales targets, you will be treated like dirt by your manager.
4- Your Qualifications or Degree certificates are just a piece of paper in a sales careers, cos if you want to progress in your company (promotion) or secure your job, Sales performance is the main factor for consideration.

    Hello.
Your many podcasts have helped me in the past in job hunting which is a form of selling; in my case myself.
There were certain processes, which were okay but many needed tweaking chopping and changing, for my job hunting as a honest hard-working sales man would've done.
I will get to the "Close" I applied for a job in the Health and Care sector, through learning from your Podcasts, I gave the employer the confidence that what I lack in experience, I have double confidence and double incentive to improve and learn.
Thank you for the Podcast, which has made a big difference in taking on challenges.

Victor thank you for sharing this valuable info. When you say we need a “sales process” what specifically do you mean? Are you referring to a “sales script, talk path, or call flow”? Are these all the same? Is planting seeds of value, asking questions and preventing objections then asking for the sale a part of the sales process you’re talking about? Can you give an example of your sales process? I currently sell property & casualty insurance via cold calling leads in a call center. Thank you!

I did sales for one day, it was credit card,
It was much difficult for me, as I am kind of introvert.
And I gave up in a 3 dayS.
But then I learned one thing, before selling your product, know your product, how its better then others.
After quoting selling job, I studied about credit card. 😅

What I am lacking is self control of my mind, possitive reinforced thoughts and stop believing the lies in which I claim to be stupid and stop listening to supposed business partners that reference me to a bad used prostitute, get rid of the voices in my head and the idiots around me that speak like the devil.

To answer what other job can you control income, waiting tables. At the proper restaurant with proper knowledge you can earn WAY more than many of your coworkers, given you aren’t pooling tips. At one of my restaurants I made upwards of 60k a year and I was working next to people who had my same job title making 25k a year. This was mostly due to my work ethic and devotion to learning about food and alcohol. It can be a truly fascinating, and extremely rewarding job.
A successful waiter can sell. After being in the restaurant industry for almost 8 years I would love an opportunity to try out a sales job based on commission. Currently searching.

  • @MainstreamNewsGuy
    @MainstreamNewsGuy 2 роки тому +1

I have a sales job, and the company comes across very friendly. We say we're a family company, and that we have the best quality in town for competitive prices.
Our quality is a tad bit higher than the average, but not the BEST, and our estimates come in at $10K-$15K higher than other companies almost every time.
I know that's why this company hires sales people, and it's my job to build value and make the customer excited about spending more money for similar products but I'm really having a hard time with it. I'm told to not leave a house unless I get kicked out essentially.
Is this pretty common in sales? Do I struggle with this because my company is overcharging or because I am a bad salesperson?

The worst part about sales is all the bs about unlimited income and how you can be financially free blah blah. Money can be had in anything for which you have passion. And that is what is important. It is as if sales is trying to sell itself. In the end most sales people aren't that wicked smart or aren't great visionaries and have no choice but to sell. It is false to say that you need to like people to be effective in sales. You need to convince the buyer that you are likeable which means that he won't get screwed over in a deal.
