EDIT: Hi, y'all! 👋
I live close by and watch these to see how crazy prices have dropped in NYC, but I watch other videos about rentals from all over the world. I like to imagine what it would be like to live in those areas :)
Me too ....this is me raising my hand.☝️
Yeah, I would love visit NYC one day but as a tourist. Way too big for me, my country's capital city of about two million people is perfect for me, has everything(almost probably)NYC has and is cheaper.
Yesss! In Cali
NYC born and raised. Moved away 30 yrs ago. Some of these apartments gives me urges to return. Video fantasies.
By far my most favorite apartment I've seen on this channel.
Exactly!
No noise from upstairs neighbors!!
Those bathrooms are fab.
@@herrweiss2580 Exactly. That's a huge plus.
@@BantingBest1 I kind of like the Old style charm of those bathrooms. I agree.
Me too! Plenty of storage space and room for a home gym!
Having a bathroom on the lower floor is an absolute gem and makes using that area as a bedroom even better. Not having to stumble up the stairs at whatever ungodly hour to pee is worth legit money. It's a charming place, if older.
Can't wait to take a claustrophobic shit in that fluorescently lit crawl space of a bathroom.
@@johningigneri My bathroom is so small I cant sit straight on the toilet, im off on an angle. At least I got a full shower and bath tub.
Its illegal
With a roommate or significant other, this place's only 900 per person. That's honestly really good.
I feel like whoever gets the loft though should pay less lolol. Maybe a couple. Especially if a guy likes to play video game. The loft can his mancave
@Dan Trebune that's because we've got more than just dirt within a 2 acre radius.
It's pretty well known other places have better housing situations but when you need to drive 10 miles just for groceries the benefits quickly start to disappear.
@Dan Trebune I have a friend in Oregon looking for somewhere nice but he doesn't drive. I'll recommend him the area on the office chance he doesn't mind walking.
Also, that doesn't negate my point. I have everything I need within a 3 min walking distance from my place at most in NYC. Additionally I have a variety of options to buy from, not just one big store shared by an entire small community. The money lost in rent is made up in other ways. It's all about people's priorities. I'd prefer to pay a bit more in rent to save time and costs in driving or car maintance at this point of my life, lol.
@Dan Trebune But how long have you been living there? Rents go up faster for vacant apartments than for occupied ones. You really have to compare the rent of this to what the asking rent of a vacant apartment in Bend, OR is.
only 900 lmaoo what, thats a house mortgage per person
The Upper West Side is one of New York's best neighborhoods with two parks and a lot of stores and restaurants. This apartment is really a one bedroom, two bath apartment on a quiet street. It's very definitely worth it!
Totally not planning to move to the city but I absolutely love this apartment. I thought it was just that 1 floor + the loft, when you showed us the downstairs AND IT HAS A BATHROOM, that's such a cool place to live. My mind is going with potential furniture layouts. Definitely a cool place for whoever ends up buying it.
as a book lover, i absolutely love the built in book shelf!! and the spiral staircase and bathroom colors are so unique and different! definitely could have someone sleep on the loft ($800) and downstairs ($1000)
awesome location UWS 86th street! That neighborhood used to be very affordable. One bedroom used to be 350 to 400k. Now they all want 700 to 800K... But pre-war with wood burning fire place + original bathroom hamper. $1700 is a steal!
Those 1960s bathrooms could be considered vintage. Flashback to my childhood.
@@Leslie-wb8cb So did we..the full bath..and my parents had a blue one with just a shower..downstairs off the den was a yellow powder room..we lived in a split level..3 bedrooms..3 floors with a basement..my Dad paid around $16,000 in 1960 for our brand new house on a quarter acre in Syosset on Long Island in NY..those were the days!!
My apartment built in the 50's has a pink tub and sink with pink tiled walls with black tiled trim...but I'm ok with that.🤣
It has old school charm, intrigue and character. The plus is bottle water in neighborhood store for a buck.
That feels like a real neighborhood with the kinds of stores that real people in a real neighborhood really need.
I live in Texas and I pay $1800 for a 3 bed 2.5 bath condo with garage and backyard. It’s astonishing the difference versus the south and the big cities. Especially during this inflation period.
The price is definitely manageable for one person. I work at home (or at decent neighborhood coffee spots not named Dunkin or Starbucks) so would probably turn that downstairs into a library for my too-many books and my home office. Then I'd find a way to make that loft work for sleeping. That seems possible. Good storage with all those closets. Probably not real comfortable in summer, but the price and location make it worth it. What a unique spot! Thanks!
It’s not a “Like” video unless Cash magically emerges from a closet and says something snarky. LOLOL…always my favorite.
Lol
Also he has to point out that the windows let in sunlight. 😄
I truly want to cry because I can’t get to that place soon enough! What a steal!
Calling it a "roach coach" isn't making me want to go get food from it
Street meat? 🤷🏾♀️
That’s what I said. That was a food cart, cash. No one wants to Eat anywhere with the word roach in it. Gag!
I enjoyed the video up until that point. So derogatory. Sure he didn’t mean it that way but nah.
That js an awesome apartment!
I would call it a 1 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. The lower level faces the interior, so quiet. It would be cooler for sleeping in the summer.
I love older buildings with character and charm.
Very cool!
1 bedroom with a bath and a half (or 1 full bath and 1 half bath/aka powder room). Not 2 bathrooms ...... unless you are into bathing in/from the sink.
It's really cool that it's technically a 2 bath studio!
Did you see a shower down stairs? If not, then it does not have full bath status.
1 1/2 bath
If it's cheap depends on if it's haunted and how many ghosts there are. If you share the place with 3 ghosts and you still pay 1.790$ then it starts to be rather expensive.
uf you're sharing it with ghosts atleast you wont have to worry about dirty washrooms
I had a ghost in my condo when I bought it, it started to get somewhat annoying, I said ...fine, if you're going to live here, you will have to pay rent...no problems ever since
Ghosts add value! Double the fun!
@@MubashirAR Unless they are poltergeists.
But if you and ghosts sign a contract to refinance the living space they could be paying you higher interest rates.
What I've learned from this channel is that too many 1 bedroom apartments are nothing more than studios chopped up into smaller spaces.
Yeah, really is a crime. When your city is full but dont have the will or rationality to put the No Vacancy sign up. Lets just chop up all these awesome houses and apartments and call this 250 Sq footer a 3bedroom!!!! When an average bedroom is 8x8 and kitchens are built in living rooms to astoundingly void both rooms proper uses.
That bagel place was the most amazing chicken place for like 70 years or more. It was WILLIAM’S BBQ. Smelled wonderful. This is the neighborhood I grew up in from around 1955 to 1978. It became gentrified and our 150 dollar a month rental 7 room pre war eventually became condos on 88th st & Broadway and is selling in the millions.
☹️
They tore down the wonderful Loew’s 83rd to build the Loew’s 84th street monstrosity.
Gentrification is a horrible thing.
Yep
May I ask you one question. . . . . . .Why would someone live in NYC?? Do you ever get to breathe fresh air?? Do you take weekend trips out to the country to see animals and get away from the city noise? Just curious. retired old ron.
@@frozenbits48 because my family came from Chicago due to Stan Lee hiring my dad to work for MARVEL. NYC had the jobs back then.
I had Central Park and Riverside Park to play in, NYC was good back then.
I live in New Jersey now where I see lots of deer, chipmunks and rabbits, etc. the air is fresh here.
I grew up in Chicago, and I LOVE this layout!! It's pretty cool! It'd be perfect for someone who was looking for a roommate as well. But, I think the best part is, that you can just kick back and relax with that fireplace! Awesome video! I find these very entertaining! Thanks!
Feeling first with 10 others😂
I think it's best to use this as a 1 bedroom rather than 2. It won't be comfortable up there in the loft; sleeping there would feel like a prison.
Also, love your sarcastic comments in the first half Cash! You are getting soo good at it🙂
I don’t think anyone could sleep in that loft if they put a mattress in it. Mattresses are fairly thick.
Thanks!
Hey Cash. Grew up in (Inwood, Uptown Manhattan). Beautiful neighborhood. 207st, west of Broadway. Gorgeous Inwood Park. I’d love for you to showcase the penthouse apartments available around 212st. Thanks.
No problem!
Would totally use the lower floor room for a bed room instead of the loft.
But I think the door way to the haunted basement would keep me up at night.
I agree, I would definitely ask If I could enclose it somehow. No matter how many locks I couldn’t sleep with it.
@@Pinkkermit17 if you enclose it, it would be very difficult to get a bed down there. Good luck trying to get a bed down some spiral stairs.
Agree... bit scary down there... but great apartment otherwise...
There is a really easy and non permanent fix for the basement door. Take off the inner doorknob, and place a good quality wooden or metal bookshelf In front of the door. L bracket it to the wall. Since the door opens into your apartment, that would buy peace of mind.
I love how positive you show NYC I just love that your not showing the really bad sides u make everything seem okay..☺️☺️☺️
Amazing studio! I’d reserve the loft for guests so they don’t outstay their welcome and put the big bed downstairs. It has a bathroom for those important all night trips. Definitely beats a lot of one bedroom apartments. Cash found the dream studio!
That is a powder room ...... not a bathroom since there are no bathing facilities in it. Powder room ....... or half bath if you must use the word bath.
Thinking about it, the basement access door could solve the problem of how do you get something down a spiral stair case when moving in (trying to get a queen sized mattress down a spiral stair case does not work most of the time.)
I would love to see you find affordable apartments for wheelchair users (i.e. stepless entrance, elevator, no stairs in unit) and individual with disabilities in general. This would illustrate the housing inequality for individuals with disabilities in the city.
As a person in a wheelchair too, I've only seen high end apartments that are accessible on here. :( Guess I'll stay in the Midwest.
Is that even legal?
You know, I see the city spending millions to make streets, stores, work spaces, bathrooms, parking lots, taxis and train stations accessible for wheelchairs but not a whole lot for people with brain injuries, seizure activity and memory problems. You're not the only ones with a disability.
@@kilobyte8321 by no means was I implying that physical disabilities should take priority. As someone who lives in NYC I was just noting that a majority of the city is off limits to us (i.e. only 135/475 metro stations are ada complient (both physical, sensory, brain injuries, etc). Brain injuries and related disabilities should most certainly be highlighted too--disability advocacy work doesn't exist in silos.
I'm glad you are seeing it because I'm not lol...can't even visit friends in Brooklyn w/out calling an accessible cab (which may or may not show up within a 2 hour window) 🙃.
Hopefully things change for us all in the near future.
@@nikolai3620 Great question---most of the apartments in NYC are built before the passage of the ADA (1990) & The Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988 , many of which are even "pre-war"---meaning that landlords are not legally obligated to retrofit their building for individuals with disabilities (grandfather clause). All new buildings must be ADA complient, however, these new units go for outrageous rent prices that a vast majority of us can't afford.
We see more and more individuals with disabilities being integrated into society/ doctors, lawyers, bankers, entrepreneurs, artists, etc., yet we face a persistent housing crisis.
I live on the Delmarva Peninsula ( Delaware, Maryland and Virginia ) about 40 minutes from Ocean City, in the country. You can find 2 & 3 bedroom homes in the country here for $750, $850. I am in Pocomoke, MD.
I bet you guys have great Smith Island cake down there!
I giggle every time he finds a medicine cabinet
Me 2...or a sink sprayer
Or a sink sprayer tehehe
Mine is new world order comments or sprayer
Or when he gets excited about the sprayer 🤣🤣 always makes me laugh
And when he points out the perfect place to make a shrine to your God.
wow your consistency on posting at this hour makes your video feel like a telenovela😆🌹

@@CashJordan No he's right!! The first thing I look for while I have my coffee every morning is the daily Cash video :) and on Saturday's I get sad that there's no video but I'm happy for Cash's family that get to have him at least one day of the week.
This is an interesting apartment. I'd use the top loft for storage/shrine. Downstairs to sleep. When the landlord updates the kitchen and fridge the price will skyrocket. I love French roast!
i'd use the top loft as a dungeon since head room is not needed or a shrine would work also
The tile is hip. I just love the old houses with tile 🚻 bathrooms. The older the better. This is a nice apartment, Mr. Cash 💸 Jordan 🇯🇴 👌 😀. Have a Happy Fall day!
You could do two separate bedrooms that way, one upstairs with the sleep loft and one downstairs. Split the rent, or use it as a guest area. Or office in the bottom and use the sleep loft.
I wouldn't put a bed in the loft solely because I don't trust myself coming down the ladder half asleep
I'd probably use it as storage or for a shrine/altar
Pull out couch for guests, keep the upper floor for you and rent the lower floor to a roommate in a 40/60 split because they get the bigger room.
idk if you could split rent easily with 2 people. cause look, if you split it into 2 bedrooms 1 person is paying 900 for a bedroom and the other is paying 900 for a crawlspace behind the stairs.
Carry on Chase. The movers came today and took my stuff away. I'll get in in Arizona a couple of days after I get there. Hopefully me and the 4 catz will have recovered from the 5 day drive by then. And the house I bought is 2 bedroom 2 bath 1414 feet of living space and an enclosed zen garden back yard. Woohoo!
Good morning Cash happy to see you and I hope that you have an amazing day I know I will because it's not as hot as it was yesterday lol NYC and Jersey crazy weather 😜 😅 💘💙
Wow Cash this was a nice apartment because the set up was really unique. If you had a old kid you could probably make that top area a play area or even a child's bedroom. There really are a few options for this place. 👌👌😁😁
If you put a circus safety net there so the kid wouldn't fall off and kill himself!
It’s nice for a single young person. I’m too old for all those steps. You forgot to mention your close to Zabars. I lived on 83rd st 25 years ago
Early again!!!! Thanks for showing us this beautiful place!!!😊
I really love this apartment. And you're right! That bookshelf does add character. Even when it's empty.
I used to live in NYC on the upper West Side and later on the Upper East Side. I loved walking in this area. It's nice to see the neighborhood again. Thank you. I'll never be able to move or go back there again, but oh, the memories! I love your channel.
Okay, this is like the NYC apartment you dream about when you are a teenager and want to escape. I am positive I could write a novel starring this apartment and it’s past, my ghosts would be the friendly kind that will not make you freak out. I love the spiral staircase, but that overhead loft would be for storage. This is a classic, not totally renovated set of spaces that you could make look so amazing and cozy. We had a basement bedroom in our second place and it was dark, quiet and cool in summer. I would make the basement the bedroom and cover one wall in removable wallpaper in a classic design, add floor length curtains, a antique headboard, dresser and a cozy chair, all on an area rug. The kitchen might be an afterthought, but add a microwave on top of the fridge and a rolling island for a workspace and it will do nicely. I would love to have a folding screen to hide the kitchen from guests. I would choose a leaf table from IKEA as the space for it would be limited. If you are a design student or you are working in design, making over this apartment, without major renovations, would be an amazing project to showcase your skills.
This is such a cool apt! Only thing is moving furniture down to that lower area must be a NIGHTMARE.
Solution: Move it in through that second door.
1st - the price/size in the corner of screen, freaking cool & helpful!
2nd - that's a 1/2 bath
3rd - that loft area is where you store your fake xmas tree and last season's clothes and your puffy coat. If you're not a drinker the stairs down to bedroom private reading area are great. The place is quirky and some of those fresh flowers would make it homey quirky. Sign the papers!
LMAO! check with the supt on how to operate fireplace. If you burn down bldg won't get your deposit back!!!! Cash, you are hilarious!!!
I really like this apartment, but as a senior citizen coming back down that ladder scares me! LOL
So cool Cash...Two floors and 1 1/2 baths. Great if sleeping downstairs. Plenty of closet space and a working fireplace. The door to the basement is convenient if there is laundry down there. Love the retro tile and flooring in the bathrooms. 1790 price tag is a good deal. Almost sorry I'm in Tampa now....
This place has so much potential... 🤓
Was thinking the same. It’d be perfect for a couple, which would keep rent around 900 bucks. Not bad for the upper west side.
Potential roaches. Potential asbestos. Potential crippling depression. So much potential.
potential to commit suicide due to claustrophobia
Just wanted to say what’s up Cash. Greetings from Vancouver BC Canada.
Been digging your videos lately that I’m subscribed and now a fan.
Wow! That place is actually amazing.
This apartment was amazing! Not a studio by any means..nice size bedroom area downstairs..the spiral staircase..fireplace..several closets and blue tile bathrooms make thi one a winner! Not to mention that the neighbor boasts great amenities and is near a green space..ya cant beat the Upper West Side!💝💝🎈🎈
I found your channel by complete accident. I didn't realize how badly I wanted to move into a closet sized apartment in New York City until I started watching your videos daily.
what is the amount of money you think an individual should have saved up if they want to move to New York City without a job lined up?
With *no* job lined up? What's your industry? I can say that for as expensive as NYC is, there's a lot more opportunity to make money in a gig economy, so the most ambitious can make it happen. Not injecting my opinion on whether or not you should do this, but I'd say I wouldn't try this with less than $5,000 in my pocket.

@@immanuelsuleiman7550 You'll find steady work much easier than most. I'd imagine in most cases you can transfer remotely, so I'd plan to secure something before I relocated. On the lower end? You can enjoy NYC on $50K/yr. Struggle meals, but good times. To be truly comfortable, & want for nothing, not have to penny-pinch? I'd not take an offer under $95K/yr. Keep your rent under $2,000/mo regardless of income is my best advice.
To live in ny you should always have atleast 8months-year worrh of rent saved because you have to pay first month rent last month rent and security thats 3 months rent right there. Also the cost of living so high i would say have 10-15k saved
@@KokuTV 95,000 a year to be comfortable... I'm definitely not in Kansas anymore

i love this! it gives me a old vintage NYC apartment vibes
They were smart utilizing space adding shelves in useless spaces making them useful 🙌🏻 I liked this one. And could you imagine the shrine someone could make up in that lofty space?! 🤯
"When you read a book, a movie plays in your head." Perfect. So, how much do I love this apartment, Cashew? A lot. But you also know how much I love the Upper West Side, so the combo is intoxicating. I actually like those old school teal green tiles. The fact that it has that half-bath has me sold. I would rent this in a heartbeat. And just for myself with no roommates and use the downstairs as a bedroom/office.
"I've got an driving license and I'm still terrible at it!". I have my license but can't relate though 😂
This apartment is one of my favorites, in the common rent zone. A lot of character. Someone could advertise the cubby loft as a “tiny home” style bedroom. I think you could decorate those bathrooms to tone down the blue...
What a fun apartment! I love the fireplace! Woo whoo! The book shelf is perfect for all your dust collecting knick knacks! :)
I love Cash! Never miss a video even though I’m never moving to America. NYC is the coolest
I like this one! Even though the kitchen was meh. I hoped you would explore that downstairs basement. Might be a second entrance or access to in building laundry.
Probably your best video so far for this month! 👌
Good Morning Cash. I didn't care for the apartment until you went downstairs. 2nd living space & 2nd bathroom. Wonderful way to make another bedroom, home office, den, tv room, living room etc...
And I like the little loft space for storage. Great neighborhood also.
This one is a keeper.
Good morning
I like this one. It’s unique and the neighborhood has a park 👍🏻
There's a darkrooms basement in the bedroom. I'd really wanna know what's down there before moving in
There's definitely some dead bodies stacked back there
Love your videos! Another amazing look at New York. ❤️❤️ sending love & light from UK 🇬🇧
There are really nice fireplace candle holders that hold multiple candles and give a really nice real flame glow without the mess of logs and such.
Since there isn’t a good view from the window in the front of the apartment it would be great to put a lot of plants in the window since it is so deep! Maybe even have a kitchen herb garden. It would also camouflage the storage in the loft to put plants up there as well! It is such a cute apartment with so much storage! Thanks for the tour.❤️
This is a great apartment...for someone MUCH younger than me. 🤣🤦♀️
But I love the character of it.
You're right! If I want to see what's in the bookcase, I would have to back up so far that I would fall down the spiral stairs.
Love the UWS!! This is totally one of the coolest studios ever and at an unbelievable price!❤❤❤ Love it!
What is the determining factor in renovating a space like this? It seems like a good area so I'm surprised the landlord didn't renovate/update the bathrooms and kitchen and jack up the rent.
The kitchen definitely sucks, but the vintage bathrooms are charming IMO. I feel like the demographic of people who want to live in a prewar building would also appreciate the vintage tile.
@@MTSVW What date is prewar? Are we still talking WWII as "the war" after all these years? Would prewar be the Depression or the Roaring Twenties?
LOVE the blue bathrooms and some of the vintage features. And the price is right!!
Unique space, could really be creative there with decorating. The jokes were rolling today!
Of all of Cash's videos, this is my favorite! If the street noise doesn't come through, I'd live here until I die!
What a unique apartment suite! This is very cool! I love the loft and the bathroom on both floors. Talk about character!! I really love the loft and a great space could be created up there!! I wouldn't sleep up there, but a cozy hangout could be so wonderful!! That bookcase build in is such a terrific use of space! Older appliances in the kitchen but that's okay! The stove and fridge look like they work just fine. Character like this probably doesn't come along every day, and the rental price is amazing!! Lots of great places to go for a cool meal in the neighbourhood and a place to see a movie, which I love!! This place rocks!! Fabulous video Cash!! Happy Monday!! :-)
I am seeing this after 8 months (how did I miss this?) and screaming - this is my most favorite in this channel and can not believe the unreal deal!!!
I was going to say only a very fit and agile person could live here, but then I saw the second bathroom downstairs and was like okay, a person actually could sleep down there. I don't know why this isn't considered a one bedroom?
Isn't it weird? That downstairs unit at one time was it's own place!
I believe it’s because there’s no door to close off the downstairs.
Although we live in Canada. I love your videos. Another world is what New York is.

That apartment is so cool! I kind of like the blue/white bathrooms, sort of...
Thanks for sharing, you do the best videos!
We turned our old 1930's bathroom laundry hamper into a fantasy mirrored medicine cabinet.
Liked this one a lot. So much space to work with.
You know this place rents every time based on the fact that it has not been updated in such a long time!
My first thought was sleeping loft… Bring on the back pain. But then I was surprised by that beautiful lower level. This was probably one of the coolest apartments I’ve seen on the channel.
I am always wondering about these lofts- even to use as a storage area, how do you carry things up and down this steep ladder even if you are a mountain climber?
You have to get by with a little help from your friends!
Use the basement door.
Dudes!!! That might be the best place you have shown. That apartment is a total winner! Tons of storage, a toilet off the bedroom, a storage loft that you could totally turn into a guest loft. Has character, great location, cheap. No way that place lasted more than a few hours on the market.
There are so many ways to hurt myself in that apartment.
I love your commentary on the neighborhoods.
Funky layout, but I sorta dig it.
You were especially funny on this one, thanks for the lol's!!! 🤣😂🤣😂
This is a place I’d have no problem sharing with someone and split the rent. Both rooms are separated nicely
Super great place! A working fireplace, tons of space! I love it!
I am considering moving up to NYC.
If I do, I'm coming to YOU 😃
The Transitions out of the closet are CRISP.
Nothing amuses/pleases me more than your neighborhood coverage prior to the actual apartment tour. If realty work doesn't pan out....consider comedy.
