When I started growing up and saw my girl friends with all brand clothes my father sayed:
''Don't worry too much about the clothes, worry about the body, if you take good care of your body anything will be ok.''
And I think he was right.
Taking care of your body Inside and outside and make sure you are clean and polish is more important than the price tag of your dress.
Bárbara Costa wow!! That is so right......Never really thought about it like that. Was buying expensive clothes and still looked messy - have spent 6 months getting fit and suddenly everything I put on looks fine!
that's right, I've been always muscular and had good fat distribution, but I've got belly fat, I remember borrowing my dress to a friend and I would think It looked better on her.. I've used to put myself down instead of doing something, now I do hiit at home and more 5 or 10 pounds I'll be satisfied with myself, body DOES make a huge difference!
Your father is so wise, it's so true. A good body gives the right support to make any outfit look good, no matter how much it cost.

I love thrifting and my in laws arent so happy about it but EVERY time I visit them or attend a get together they compliment how I look, ironically more than 75% of my outfit is thrifted. Its all about purchasing good fabrics and how you put them together! Love your videos, I am a house wife and I love it!

I think the clown/hobo phase is pretty normal for that age. It's part of the growing process. What might help is having regular daddy/daughter time where you do fashion shows and critique her outfits she puts together. That way you could teach her what looks good and what doesn't with it being fun for her as well. Just make sure to give her outfits praise as well as constructive criticism.
I got into jewelry making because of you 😊 I followed your advice on doing something creative instead of just watching tv all evening and now I’ve found a hobby that I really really enjoy. I’m even selling them now. Thank you so much for your amazing content and for inspiring people like myself!

I’m a girl in high school and I identify as a feminist/egalitarian but it’s so nice to watch your channel! Feminism is all about accepting all kinds of women, and I love the community of stay-home moms and dads that you’ve connected! It’s really empowering to see your warmth and it inspires me to carry on to be as accepting! There is no societal norm for anyone, as long as they are happy, kind, and doing what they do best, it’s all good! Feminism is about inclusivity and I’m proud to see how much your channel has grown! Find women who work from home who provide beauty treatments at a fraction of the cost, that way were all helping each other.
Great tips Caitlin! ^_^ Some other frugal beauty tips I personally use are:
1 to use cornstarch as a face powder and dry shampoo at times. ( I eat a carnivore diet, so my skin look really good, no need for foundation. + sleep is a great concealer;) ).
2 get more colours out of one lipstick but varying the intensity of it.
3. sleep with 2-3 "rollers" in the hair to get nice waves.
4. do your nail over a couple of days so each layer can dry completely, then the manicure will look great for a week or more.
5. warm up your eyelash curler with your blowdryer, so it warm (check it's not too hot!), bend your lashes as close to the eye as possible and hold the curler for about 10-15 sek, maybe do it two times on each eye, and your lashes will look AMAZING the rest or the day!
Your natural hair colour is absolutely gorgeous and so natural and rare! It’s this golden toned blond that you don’t see often. My best friend is half Italian and half Dutch like you and her hair is the same beautiful colour. She never dyed her hair and it’s always suited her. Great advice
I have a friend the same way. She's Irish though. I always say the same thing about her. I remember watching a simply nailogical reaction/re-creation video to a video in which a girl who said "my golden hair" and I was thinking your hair color (which was slightly pale blond) is flattering on you but golden hair where??👀 My mind went to my friend with golden looking hair. She has cooler, pale skin but I find that gold jewelry looks great on her due to her hair color

The one thing I make room for in my budget is waxing my facial hair. I have a lot of it and it makes a *huge* difference for me to have a professional esthetician do my facial waxing.
Nails though - I got that! And my natural hair is pretty great 😊.

I prefer doing my own “salon” stuff at home. You can make it very relaxing and enjoyable (glass of wine or whatever your favorite drink is, music, listening to pod casts etc). I do nails (regular and gel), eyebrow and eyelash tinting, masking etc. I don’t self tan much anymore for health reasons. I find for hair that a subtle balayage is great at keeping my hair looking very polished but keeps the hair appointments down to a minimum (2-3 times a year) vs every 4-6 weeks for a dye job.
I do feel sorry though for ladies that are keeping the grey hairs at bay as it’s very expensive having to keep up the root maintenance / lashes/brows frequently.
When I was 18 I went through a phase of hair coloring. Nothing like pinks and purples, but I had brows, deep red, burgundy, dirty blonde etc colours all in a year. I learnt the techniques that the hair stylist did, and now I do my mom's root color every 3 weeks for no cost and it makes her feel so good.!!!
for SKIN damage prevention: in the night use Tretinoin cream and in the morning Vitamin C Serum, and yes you mentioned it, USE sunscreen all year long!
@HAYAO LEONE I know they say it causes skin cancer, but please do not use any sunscreen from the drug store, go to the pharmacy and use high-end sunscreen, I pay 40 $ for a little tube of sunscreen but it is worth it. Please also if you use sunscreen, check your Vitamin D status, as it is only absorbed through sun, and if low you can use vitamin D supplements!

I am responsible for dressing my 5 year old girl
I have a very limited understanding of feminine style
She has lots of girly things, but also has a lot of just “meh” jeans and leggings etc.
Her understanding of style is just coming through.
Should I pare down her wardrobe for her?
Or should I try to teaching her to discern for herself?
Again, she’s five
She’s very feminine already
And I want her to have her own style
But every once in a while I have to stop her from going out of the house looking like a circus clown or a hobo

When I was in middle school, I used to wear a bright red skirt from my dress up box and a shirt with Eeyore printed it to school. Plus pink converse! My mom only kept me accountable for style at nice events.
As she grows up, you can facilitate shopping trips or times where she can learn more about style.
You’re doing a good job! I think kids should just be kids. She’s not a woman yet, and she should just wear whatever she feels happy in :) BLESSINGS!
Try shopping vintage dresses for nice days out! Or casual vintage ones for school check out Etsy “vintage girl dresses” they have the cutest dresses 👗 I have gotten my daughter some! Little girls should look put together it reflects how much the parents care about them and their hygiene!

I completely understand, and I don’t want to be an overbearing parent.
I suppose the context is lost in that I commented on a previous video with my circumstances.
I believe that our culture is degrading around us, and because of my unique circumstances, I am in charge of taking care of my little girl, rather than her mom.
While I recognize her autonomy, I also feel it is my responsibility to provide a cultural framework for her to grow into.

I genuinely want to do the best buy my daughter
My daughter is four and is quite the fashionista already. Some of the outfits she puts together can be a little crazy though. At this point your daughter is just trying to figure out her style and it’s important that she be able to have fun with it. I really only have a few “rules” for my daughter when it comes to getting dressed and they’re more related to modesty than anything. (I think it’s important to start that young so they don’t get confused about it when they are older and it’s more important.) 1. If she’s wearing leggings or spandex shorts, she needs to wear a skirt or dress over it. 2. If she’s wearing a skirt or dress she needs to wear shorts or leggings under it. 3. Clothes need to be seasonally appropriate. 4. No pj’s out of the house. Other than that, her style is her own to develop as she pleases. As your daughter grows, her sense of style will grow too and she will learn what matches and what doesn’t. I’d recommend getting her some books about strong feminine girls too. My daughter LOVES Fancy Nancy books and fairy tails. Just be there to help her if she needs it and she will appreciate that. You’re have the opportunity to really have her value your opinion and input on what she wears and how she presents herself, and that’s not something a lot of little girls have. I was blessed enough to have a father whose opinion I value highly, and he definitely had an impact on my sense of style. Hope this helps, and best of luck to you and your daughter.
@@metoonunyabidness1391 I would say at this age you should focus most on building her character and morals. Read some parenting books on thay if you need further guidance. Let her develop confidence in her self and discover who she is for herself. While you have an image you want for your daughter you can not ensure she will be this way and the more you try to enforce it the more she might rebel. Forcing her to be a certain way might be harmful to her confidence and ability to relax in her self . You can try encourage nurturing sides to her with animals, baby dolls etc you can teach her to be polite, you can even encourage her to find joy in things like baking and housework, you can encourage her to be kind and have love for others, christian groups for kids would be a wonderful environment to bring out a gentle side to her or even dance or music groups like ballet or ball room. Environments like that will have more of an effect on her than only you could have. Provide a safe , calm environment at home , even play music with a soft , feminine vibe. My advice comes from me as a female who was raised by a single dad in a home with a male flatmate and adult brother and has a toddler daughter. The way i was raised made me quite masculine. My dad was strict and angry all the time which made me grow hard and angry myself, he always critisized me which made me unable to let my gaurd down and have those vulnerable feminine qualities. My confidence was destroyed and in that i was unable to be open and truly there for other people.angry masculine music was often played in the house and the decor was very masculine. I didnt feel relaxed at home and was discouraged from cleaning because i was alway harshly told off for doing it wrong and i wasnt allowed to cook because he didnt want me to make a mess even though i really wanted to. I had no parent to do my hair so it was often a mess . You can find tutorials on youtube how to do your little girls hair in nice styles and how to care for it so it grows healthy and shiny. You can feed her good nutrition so she looks healthy and has a better mood. Maybe buy some nice bows and clips for her hair. hope this helps

She made all great points! I started taking care of my skin very early and I learned to do my own lashes .😁 They look natural and are very inexpensive. For a long time I never did anything to my brows but pencil in. But, I like microshading because it saves time and it last for up to a year. It's awesome and the only thing I have to do is pluck hairs for maintenance.
I love thrift stores. I got a BEAUTIFUL dress for $2. It fits like a glove!!! Thrift stores are winners in my book

Hello. I'm not a Christian, nor am I interested in being a housewife (I would like to pursue a career in developmental psychology), but I do consider myself very feminine. It's really nice to see a channel for feminine girls, especially nowadays when femininity is seen as something rare or wrong

personally, I know that I will have a career outside of the home, but I absolutely love your videos all the same!! it’s such a refreshing point of view in today’s world, and especially as a woman in college, so many of my peers seem to have forgotten the natural beauty of the female sex! it’s not a bad thing that women and men are so different and are equipped for different things, that’s what makes humans so incredible! you’re doing such amazing work!!
Another good adjustment if you want to dye your hair is to go with a colour that’s not too far off from your natural one, making it easier to maintain, cheaper, and less damaging to the hair over time. For instance, I have light brown hair, and simply getting some blonde highlights instead of a full bleach is way cheaper, and when it grows out it doesn’t look bad and still looks natural, so I don’t have to constantly do the root upkeep!

I love being able to save money for my Husband and I with being crafty with taking care of my appearance. I have very dark hair so I buy hair color from the store that doesn’t cost very much and it always comes out well. I give myself my own pedicures with a electronic foot file and my own polish and for finger nails, I like the acrylic look so I buy press ons in bulk on Amazon, I use glue from the brand “Kiss” and I polish, file, trim and buff them myself making the longevity of them secured for two weeks! The package that they come in have lasted me months and I’m still not even close to being finished with them, costing about $12. I take care of all of my hair removal and know how to shape my eyebrows with a good pair of Tweezerman tweezers. I use a lot of drugstore makeup and I buy clothes from places like Fashion Nova, F21, Target and even Amazon! You could find all of the products that I buy for my hair, face and hygiene at any drugstore or Grocery joint! I trim and cut my own hair. I’ll take time for myself to pamper myself because I know how to do all of these feminine practices on my own and it’s quite fun and relaxing!
All of it takes practice, like you said, but it’s well worth it and I’m totally in the swing of things by now 💘 It’s important for me to stay feminine while remaining on a budget and I find that it’s been successful for me to do so all the while looking like I spent way more money and time into my appearance than I actually did 😉

I cut my hair couple weeks ago about 30cm because it was too high maintenance, i feel like it looks so much better and cleaner and because i donated the hair some kid is gonna be happy to get a new wig

You can also buy Silk and cashemere tops on vinted. I shop 100euros top for 10euros there. I had so much compliments for that 😊
My tip: sometimes you safe more by spending more. E.g.: I have very difficult hair (curly, thinning, scalp problems). I used to use a lot of products to keep it looking okay and to keep my scalp and hair loss under control. I went through bottles of conditioner, masks, scalp oils like crazy. Then my hair dresser recommended me some salon products that were 40€ per liter. But boy do they work! You only need a small amount and not as many types of product to get results (e.g. I only need a hair oil now instead of a leave in, detangler, styler and oil). :D

Your videos are really a huge help ! I've struggled with mental health issues and low self esteeme for the past 2 and a half year because of school and some people. I think that I neglected myself cuz i was diving deep into my worries ,I started to wear anything to school stayed at home 90% of the time didn't go to family gatherings or weddings just stayed home and worried about my future I only lasted through all of it because of my favourite Boy Band BTS their music and messages were and still are the reason why I'm still surviving life but I got sick of all of it I want to change it want to be happy and socialize for the sake of my happiness cuz I'm not happy , I want to take care of myself inside out I want to look forward and not back and stress about my past mistakes and what I have done wrong back then . Your videos and advices are helping me take a few steps and I wanted to say thank you 💜

I feel out of place at my college. I dress with only skirts below the knee, modest blouses, trench coats and ballerina flats (I try not to look frumpy but I like looking classy for my age). Although at my university all the women wear either trousers, either mini-skirts with a more casual or even edgy or grungy style. And because I look maybe classier (while I shop on a budget ! I simply buy plenty of neutral and basic but polished pieces), everyone believes I am wealthy and arrogant because I would want to display my money (which I do not even have lol !).
I’ve had similar experiences when I was younger. I continued to dress the way I wanted to and don’t regret it! Don’t let people badger you in that! :)

Do not for even one second feel out of place. Your style sets you apart. And believe you me (I'm in my mid forties - so I'm speaking from experience) your college mates will remember you even after 30yrs as that classy girl from college. Do not conform for anyone or out of pressure. As they say, DO YOU.
One day in the future you will meet someone from your college days who will tell you how they admired your style or how put together you were. Or even some who were afraid to approach you because they thought your were out of their league. (Which is not a bad thing in itself - keeps the silly ones at bay).

I definitely agree with your low maintenance hairstyle. I love how inexpensive my hair color is and I think it looks so pretty. All these tips are so good and I completely agree!
A regular manicure costs around $10-15. The way I learned how to shape my nails and upkeep is getting a salon regular manicure and then just up keeping that. Take a picture of it when they’re done so you can reference!
Last time I looked you had 16k! Exciting seeing you get to nearly 20k!

My favorite tip to anyone who is looking to start giving yourself manicures is to buy some nail glue! Nothing can wreck your day more than growing out, shaping, filing, etc. your nails for weeks and then one of them breaks on the side and you feel like you have to start over.

Over half my wardrobe is thrifted. A lot of my old clothes I used to wear before my glow up can be made feminine and classy with a skirt. I don’t dye my hair or get fancy cuts or styles. My hair is short, so I don’t need very many products for it. I don’t buy any new makeup until I completely use up the previous product. Foundation tip: when your foundation bottle is getting low, cut it open and scrape out your last remaining drops of foundation. When i do this, I get another week’s worth of foundation and I don’t waste any product. Product is money. Don’t waste anything. Get your money’s worth.
