They even threw in the Pope playing guitar. I understand that view was to be longer, but the editors were afraid of the outrage if it was felt the band was ridiculing the Pope. LOL
One of my favorites. Great song. I was at the farewell tour of Genesis in Amsterdam. They did this song. Loved it . Thank you, sweet Sarah. Enjoyed this one. 👍😁💪❤️
as far as I can remember... there was a story about the graffiti on the wall "Bill call Mandy" (must have been about Mandy Smith and Bill Wyman, right? )
without knowing who is who and the political situation in the 80s the video maybe makes no sense or looks a bit of weird... but all in all, it is one of the best music videos of the 80s (behind Sledgehammer and take on me for sure :D )
Disturbed did a great cover and video of this tune. If you don't know Disturbed you won't appreciate the departure from their typical heavy metal music.
Genesis had amazing lyrics in most of their music. They could be very sarcastic and ironic, but here they putting down a Conservative icon, President Ronald Reagan. It seems we are now headed down a similar path as in 1988, but with a potentially much darker dead end. Still the band gives us some hope if we use our hands (vote?) to build a better future. Nice review, as usual. (you might consider Disturber's cover for another video. They add more weight to the song)
@@rk41gatorso you are telling me that I have to like the video because it got a Grammy. No I don't. I've been a genius fan since long before Phil Collins became the voice. I am aloud to not like something you know
@@mariehopkinson5581 No need to be defensive. I did not tell you to like or dislike the video. I only said you might reconsider. I don't need an award to tell me something is good or not. And I might even agree that the video is distracting, but not say it ruined the song.
The puppets were very good caricatures of Phil Collins, Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, Michael Jackson and others. Nice reaction, Sarah.

Love your beautiful smile. You are so right.
You need to remember the 80's to recognize the caricatures.

If you're interested, Disturbed did a cover of this song. It's worth a reaction. Great reaction as always, Sarah!

Yup things have been messed up for a long time
Puppets from the TV series "Spitting Image".
A great old band.
Wake up Ronnie! Great song!
Great song!! 😅

Great song, great video. The puppets so creepy ;)

It's funny that Reagan's policies HELPED put an end to the Cold WAR and the fall of the Berlin wall.
Yep their sarcasm great in …..Jesus he knows me
Unfortunately the video ruined the song, better off listening rather than watching. Brilliant song though x
You might reconsider, since Genesis got a Grammy Award for best concept video in March 1988.
One of the best videos visually explains the lyrics ..puppets done by the guys that did spitting image

That video is just a little...distracting.
