    I cannot thank you enough for making this video! You have given me so much confidence to be able to tackle a bead board project that I have been wanting to do but was afraid of power tools and didn’t want to ruin the Sheetrock in case one day I would want to change out the bead board.
    The way you explain in great detail every step and hacks of how to work around issues is exactly what I need, so grateful for your guidance!!! Would love to see more projects to learn even more :)

    I learnt to put the drill bit in front of the screw and if it covers the shank and not the thread, it’s the right size drill bit. Be careful holding the edges of the drill though as they may slice your fingers.

    I love you videos & emphasis on grace!💕 My husband & I are about to redecorate our house: new floors, paint, countertops, backsplash, etc. I’m petrified. No idea what looks good together. AND we have honey oak. Trying to start there since we’re not painting trim…at least not yet.😁

    We were gifted beadboard tounge and groove, wife wanted to paint it. Ugh, came out great but what a pain. Buy the cheap stuff if you are going to paint it.
    Remember to check and mark your studs and construction glue around your electrical runs.

      Yes! I have one for peel and stick and one for regular pasted. It’s in my DIY category 😊

    What holds me back from DIY's is I'm afraid I am going to mess up!

      If you do, 99% of the time it’s fixable! But you miss 100% of the chances to succeed if you never try. 😘❤️❤️

    Does the top trim overlap the beadboard or go above it?

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  2 місяці тому +1

      Traditionally, It goes above it. Otherwise, you will have a gap to fill.

    "This video is all about doing it when you don't have the tools or the workshop or carpentry skills, and I forgot my jigsaw..."
    "Excellent! Exactly what I need."
    "...so we're going to plunge cut instead. I have this little five and a half inch circular saw..."
    "We're going to what? You have a what?"

    I think my biggest hesitation is having a plan and everything picked out so I know what it will look like . I guess not sure about my style as well. Hot mess here! lol

    We are in military housing and can’t make anything permanent which is why I don’t really change and make it my own. Wish I could though.

    My fear in DIYing is starting a big new project and running into an unknown complication and having to settle for a less than professional finish because the solve isn’t within my ability.

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  2 роки тому

      Totally valid! I’d say start small. Grab a $10 table from a thrift store and practice refinishing it. Add a wall treatment to a tiny room. When you work on smaller projects first you build up your knowledge until you’re ready to tackle the big ones. And, if all else fails, build in a buffer in budget in case you need to hire help 😉 You’ve got this!
