Double sinks, a neutral countertop and nice flooring are a great start. But, even if you don't have those elements I'm sharing how to makeover your bathroom on a budget. Loved the tips in this video. I am currently using your hack in my master bath to cover a gold trimmed walk in shower door I hate. The shower curtain helps so much! Question: any recommendations for what to do with a 20 year old fiberglass walk in shower surround? I don’t want to replace it with tile because I don’t want to deal with grout cleaning. I’ve gotten estimates from two companies that rip out the old shower down to studs and put in a new acrylic shower surround along with new plumbing and fixtures. Each one wants about $13000! 😬 My husband about lost it. Seems exorbitant. Was wondering about your thoughts on just using a licensed contractor to add an acrylic surface that can be cut to fit the current surround. It’s working fine, but the fiberglass has discolored somewhat. Shower pan is fine too. In a quandary…would rather put more of my money toward remnant quartz countertop. I should also mention we DO plan to replace the outdated sliding shower door whatever path we choose.
I’d have to defer to the experts on that one! I’d definitely contact a few contractors and get quotes on them ripping out and replacing with a store bought surround. It’s likely updating the plumbing that is skyrocketing the price so maybe they can guide you on other options. Best of luck!
