I got one of the soft flames about a month ago. I really like it. I'm a cigar smoker. Torch lighters are great for toasting the cigar but I like the soft flames for the main light.
i recently picked up a vintage lighter that doesn’t have any branding on it and since it’s my first legit lighter i don’t want to start opening it up or trying to use it before i can find a guide on repairing it, are most lighters pretty universal when it comes to repair/flint type?
@@DependableFlame it’s pretty slim/thin, and black with a gold trim, as well as three small (fake) diamonds set near the top. I can tell it takes butane gas but that’s about it so far
Sorry, butane is a whole other animal, I only work on petrol lighters. There’s a link to my friend Donald’s site on this page of my site: dependableflame.com/helpful-lighter-related-links He might be able to help, he’s in Denmark but he works on many butane lighters.✌️

Refueled my Ronson Jet Lite while watching this.
My vintage look with the slashes is one of my favorite lighters too. Probably number two or three.
I need to pull out mine with the slashes.✌️

Yes, the principles are all typically the same. What does your lighter look like?✌️

@@DependableFlame awesome thank you so much!
Sadly with butane, you gotta bleed your lighter at regular intervals. Doesn't matter how pure the butane is, it still has air that travels downwards.
I bleed them every time I fill them. Do you think that is necessary or can it go a few fills in between? Thanks for your insight.✌️
@@DependableFlame I do it once or twice per month. Every single time you refill is overkill for sure :)
Mornin Joe!😁
Good morning Mark!✌️
