Pretty lighter. What was the L& M brand date 1960 to 1970?

I have a number of Vulcan lighters in my collection, along with Penguin. In my experience so far, both of those branded lighters are Japan made and are virtual copies of Zippo lighters in all dimensions and have had no problems swapping inserts back and forth between them. I'd be hard pressed to tell them apart by feel if I couldn't see them. A lot of clones, especially the no-name Korean clones, have this slight bulge to them that make their inserts ever so slightly off. Basically if I stare at the canning on the bottom, a standard Zippo, Vulcan, or Penguin have very straight "sides" to them, while some of the off brand clones you can start seeing that the sides are bowed outwards a touch. I'd probably just get him to try a standard Zippo insert, there's a very real chance it'll work correctly. I don't recall seeing any Vulcan or Penguin lighters that are Zippo clones that aren't close enough in case dimensions.

I’ve just started my own lighter collection recently. Started with a “vintage” zippo with slashes. Just ordered a 1935 zippo. Have two Ronson whirlwinds too. One I found at a yard sale & one at an estate sale. Any advice on a new collector?

That would be cool, especially with your experience and expertise with lighters! I'd be very happy to have my non-working Imcos serviced by you for a (professional) fee!

Oh im very confused right now looking at evans spitfires. Theres small ones and big ones and im so confused because there is the evans petite and I think people don't know what they have on ebay.

I bought one of these lighters in a garage sale. mine has a map of West Germany and the word Berlin by itself on one side and on the other side of the map is the words "West Germany" and below is a pic of the German eagle on a coat of arms. I paid 15 bucks for it and it's something I'll pass along when I find someone mature enough to take it is so easy to lose

Back when a company stood by its product. Anymore a company offering a lifetime warranty is just selling a chinese product for 10x more so of course when it breaks they can afford to replace it for you... thats not a lifetime warranty, thats a replacement plan.

hello friend! i have a similar lighter, a Kent Continental. I'm having an issue with the trigger flying out every time i try using it. It either flies out or gets stuck when i press it down. Have you ever encountered this? How can I get this guy to work? Thanks!

Hey Joe. First I would like to thank you for all the work that you do. Recently I bought a vintage lighter with Ronson mechanism, by watching your videos I managed to get it to nearly functional shape. However I also realized that my lighter is missing the clutch part, in effect it sparks very rarely and inconsistently. Is there a way to find such a piece or some kind of replacement to it? Adam.

As much as I would love to have an Imco, I can't due to the climate here in Southeast Asia. Imcos catch rust in tropical climates. I have a couple of Imcos, an Imco Safety and an Imco Silby, and both are jammed due to rust.

Check out the dissim small jet lighter. I have had good luck with them. Or jet light makes a good torch for the price.

I put a rubber gasket on top of the felt pad .Works just the same.

Thanks for this vid, I'm really considering getting one of these or maybe the zippo single torch butane insert. There's SOOOO many offbrand torch lighters littered all over online but I hear of them either outright dying soon after using them or not working after the first time you try to refill them. This Ronson Jet Lite or the butane Zippo inserts seem the most reliable that I've seen, I suppose unless we're talking about some high dollar cigar lighters. Just don't think I'll ever be able to justify a ton for a lighter, I'll be very bummed if it fails or drops and breaks or is lost.

You should include in your next video to remind people to air out the lighter completing before refilling.

Found this video by researching thos company. Just bought a Sharpo as I am getting into vintage lighters and I liked the looks of this one. Very nice quality lighters. My snuffer hing pin is a screw not a hidden pin and the roller on mine is not slotted. Maybe and earlier model. Nice videos you have.
