Arrangement, Recording, & Mixing by Jonny May
Thanks for watching!
A single thing people in 2020 can agree on is: every cover by Jonny needs an extended version!
I agree
I DISAGREE!!!
@@oliverknagg5109 **Angry noises**
you all probably dont give a shit but does anyone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot my password. I would love any tricks you can offer me
@Juan Tobias instablaster ;)
Who now wants to hear these wedding songs in ragtime always?😂
Yaas
I would pay a fairly substantial amount of money to have him do Canon in D in ragtime at my wedding.
@@Hydraclone sameeee
@Jane Doe LOL!!
Pachabel would absolutely be dancing to ragtime if he heard Jonny playing his Canon in D!
I would be okay if the piano player at my wedding played this in Ragtime
me too😍
You'd be bouncing and jigging down the aisle, not walking 🤣
Same! Especially if he did a fake out and then suddenly burst into ragtime just like Johnny did in this video!
That’s my kind of wedding!!
@@gregfam6250 that was my thought, too. Just happily bopping down the aisle.
Slowly changeing from "here comes the bride" into "chopins funeral march" is the hit at every wedding
and brings the " 'til death does us apart" more profoundly into mind before it's too late..
:-)
I totally want that Canon in D as a full recording!
Second that was amazing
5th me too
Bring on a string quartet version! Get the cello player grooving!
As do I
Please make it a thing!
Legend is back
Having played these hundreds of times on piano and organ I can tell you anyone would enjoy these at their wedding. Especially the "Wedding March".
Good to hear you again. There is no one that plays anywhere as good as you. Anyone can play the notes. It takes a unique talent to play like you.
I'm not getting married to any of these songs unless they're played in ragtime lol 😂😂
I’d love to see a period wedding with ragtime music.
Is it just me or is this so amusing to listen to? His hands move so fast and hit the right notes it's amazing ❤️
Jonny: MAYbe it sonds better if I play it in Ragtime, even if I say it shouldn't be done.
nice pun
Lol, that is so true
The definition of quality over quantity is this channel
I would absolutely love to have my whole wedding instrumented like that. I would be absolutely amazing!
Hey Jonny!! How about doing a ragtime of Mister Roger's songs "It's Such a Good Feeling", "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood", and "It's You I Like" That would be AWESOME!
Good to have you back.
For a full cover, I don't see (though I could have missed) either the Star Wars or Star Trek The Next Generation Main Titles in you list. Either of them would be good in ragtime.
Or maybe just a "Top X Sci-fi themes You Should (Never) Play in Ragtime"
I fear for the safety of that golden potted plant
Hello, Jonny! I have an idea. You should repeat some of the topics you've already made and make part 2. For example, make another 3 classical themes. Great video as always!
I purchased the album. It's wonderful! I can NOT wipe the smile off of my face when you break into ragtime!
I've literally been humming a ragtime canon in d for years and am ecstatic to see it now done for real
Please tell me I’m not the only one that wonders if he would play at my wedding?🥰
Every time Jonny busts out the rag version, a big smile appears on my face.
Jonny, It blows my mind the great many talents that are in this world of which you are one of. Thanks for the beautiful music!🙂👍
I'm starting to think every song ever needs to be played in ragtime.
...starting...?😉
The Imperial March!
What song should I play in ragtime next? Give me a good one!
The Bob Ross Theme
Pomp and Circumstance. I despise that song with all my heart, so naturally I'm curious to see if you can do the miracle of making it palatable. Jonny I believe in you
@@novlsys I like that song, but would still love an episode with Pomp and circumstance, Rule Britannia and one more song in the same vein. Maybe Jerusalem?
Scarborough Fair :)
@@novlsys which pomp and circumstance? the pomp and circumstance by Vocaloid or pomp and circumstance by Edward Elgar? cause it would be REALLY friggan interesting and somewhat awkward to hear the vocaloid version played in ragtime if you've ever listened to it and know the meaning its conveying xD.
Glad you are still around and visibly enjoying your music. :-)
I'm now tempted to have a silent movie themed wedding 😂
2:31 hahahaha nice dude, very nice
wellcome back
ragtime album AAAAAH
You can see his skill equals his enjoyment. That's beautiful.
So that's all three wedding songs people generally know. :p
I don't generally think of Canon in D as a wedding song, even if it is used a lot for them.
I would have also suggested "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring"
LOVE IT !!!... Actually, I think it could be AWESOME.... It would take a couple with a very special sense of humor.... but.... I could just picture the bride shuckin' and jivin' down the aisle at her entrance, and the bride and groom shuckin' and jivin' back up the aisle at the end. It would be AMAZINGLY MEMORABLE !
Looks so happy when playing
Every event is better with ragtime!!
Hey Johnny! I wanted to tell you that I love your piano playing and after 11 years of piano I can finally start learning your crazy advanced arrangements😂 I’m working on sway right now!
All these songs get so much more interesting in rag
Don't you mean wedding songs that should be played in Ragtime?
The one thing I learned watching all these videos about songs you should not play in rag time... Is that it is the opposite of what was started... 🙂
Rags to riches, Jonny? That was brilliant. Was feeling blue and desperately needed the mood lift. And laugh.
Steve Martin famously said that you can't play an unhappy song on a banjo. Seems to me this is also true of something played in ragtime. So here's a challenge - the saddest piece ever written - Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C# minor.
(One of Jonny's many online students here!) This was very well done! It would make a good cartoon soundtrack.
Canon in D …This song is amazing!
Wonderful!!
You put a smile on my face. Tnx Jonny 🙂
"Arrival of the Queen of Sheba" in ragtime would be quite something!
*Excellent ! 1000 congrats !*
That would be a wedding for the history books!
Wow!!! Awesomely amazing! 🥳🥳🥳
We all know that this really means "...You should ALWAYS play in Ragtime"
genius - superb stuff!
Dude. You're amazing!
All these songs would be awesome!!!
You play so well wow
I rememberd seeing and upload from you on my subscription page a few days ago... since I didn't watch it back then I searched for it and watched it now. And just a few seconds in my average mood had turned way up and I was sitting hier smiling and listening to your interpretations. Many thanks once again for lighting up my mood! :-)
(Should this old guy ever get married, I wouldn't actually mind using your versions - it sure would make the whole thing even more special!)
Bridal march rag? Yes please!
grande...bravissimo
And flourish!
All of those were great, but that version of Canon in D needs a full version! Please!!!!!
Oh my god, Canon sound so good in ragtime !
Canon in d sounds so good
Wedding march (no.3) sounds fine in ragtime.
Just perfect 😂
Whelp. I was just watching some UA-cam to wind down for bed and here I am all wound up again! Loved this one! Going to go find your album now ❤️
My legend
I love you so much
You're from the greatest pianist that I ever heard
🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️♥️
With all love ammar ❤️🌹
I'd love to have this at my wedding!
Dang, if I ever got married I *would* want ragtime bridal chorus played!
POV: You invite Jonny May to play at your wedding 0:23
Amazing!! 🤣👌👍
Hi Jonny, congratulations on the presentation and arrangements, it was happy and fun, cool Hugs, I'm from São Paulo - Brazil.
I love the fact that the "Canon in D" actually was in C 😄😄😄
Hello buddy ✌️ good to see you again my friend jonny 👍👌 excellent job you are super awesome pianist.
Makes me wanna, nah I’m good😂. Well played Jonny, nice to hear you again👍🏻.
I’m trying to decide if that baseline would be better or worse than the actual Canon in D baseline/cello part... so many jumps... but then again, literally anything is better than the cello part for Canon in D 😂 -A cellist
The last part got me after dun dun Dan dun
amaaaazing
Actually, I'd have it!
But then again, I'm weird like that.....
Very good 🤩
I liked the Canon in d one
That canon d gave me massive Thomas the tank engine vibes. Also sounds like memories was derived from a ragtime variant
Unbelievable. But, believable for anyone who knows your videos. Good to see a new post, it's been a little while.
Heck with your video title! This is giving me ideas...
Finally, a rendition of Pachabel's canon that I can support!
(former string player--at least I wasnt the cellist, who plays the same 8 notes over and over and over...)
You poor bugger, always felt sorry for cellists in that one!
Jonny's back!
I love Ragtime Music on Piano - Beautiful 👍😁🤩🍀
Welcome backkkk
I love this series
Thank you.
If Pachelbel had ever heard of ragtime, he would have liked your version!
Loved it! Jonny, if you're channeling Joann Castle, you need to bounce more and smile at the camera now and then!!
Ragtime Canon in D❤❤❤❤❤
You're amazing
Dude played canon in d... IN C
Gotta admit, I quite like them! Very well played :)
Ayy he's back!
Return of the king
hes bacc
You've just ruined weddings everywhere...my wife just said "I would go down the aisle to that", and she HATES that first wedding march..so, good job, I guess. She used the "Trumpet Tune" in ours.
Was the "Trumpet Tune" the fanfare by Clarke?
I to hate the bridal march. I went down the aisle to Ode to Joy.
I can see in my warped mind the bride flap dancing down the aisle!
He’s back :))
Can you play "all around me are familiar faces" in ragtime?
All thee would make a great wedding
He is so good
I wouldn't just be okay with them played in ragtime, but very happy.
