Clair de Lune is my all-time favorite classical piece. I can’t tell you how many nights its calming influence has taken my mind off the cares of the day and allowed me to drift into a peaceful night’s sleep. I could never use these versions to do that, BUT they COULD get my day started. I absolutely love this! Thank you!!
Hahaha this was great! At first I couldn't remember when or why I subbed, but after watching less than a minute I remembered why: YOU ARE INSANELY TALENTED!!! Have a good weekend 😁❤👍
If I heard these out in the wild without context I think it would drive me nuts because I'd be like "🤨I know this song what is this song!!?!" because they're so different. I enjoyed the video 😊
What I love most about these videos is how you’re doing the original rendition - or the “intro” as I prefer to call it - I’m just waiting for that signature boom-boom-boom to kick in.
One mark of a great tune is the ability it has to be good in more styles than that for which it was written. Very good. Thanks. Too bad each “version” was so short.
It is easy to get confused because they are Essentially the same thing Ragtime came around the start of the 1900s pioneered by Scott Joplin and it was a link between Classical Music and Jazz and Scott noted that it shouldn't be played fast (it is mostly portrayed in old Saloons) Stride is a style that is common between Jazz Pianists around the 30s Pioneered by people like Fats waller and the main difference that it is more harmonically complexed and the usage of coloured chords and a lot of runs and ornaments (portrayed in Jazz bars and fancy hotels)
Débussy crying in the thumbnail LOL. Seriously though, Clair de Lune is one of my favourite piano pieces and you did it great justice by "butchering" it so thoroughly into other styles. Ol' Claude may not approve but I sure do! By the way, could someone tell me the substantive difference(s) between Stride and Ragtime? They sound so similar.
I wonder how many calories you burnt when playing the keyboard. It looks like a quite intense exercise. Nice fast paced piano-playing, something that I can only dream off.
I liked the stride and the ragtime versions ... the Latin version sounded rough to me, but that may well be because I don't associate the piano with the Latin sound ... Anyway, quite fun to listen to.
Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu!!! but this one is so incredible. currently learning your happy birthday in 7 styles and the ragtime section does not like me at all!
00:00 Traditional
00:16 Stride
00:56 Latin
01:36 Ragtime
You’re so close to 300k
Jonny please play something Armenian
Pleasee cover some of The Sound of Music Movie Soundtrack! Thankyou
What keyboard are you using?? Sounds great
Claude: **Composes timeless piece**
Jonny: It would be a shame if someone rag-timed all over this 😏
Clair isn’t the composers name, its the name of the piece lol
*Debussy*
@@dougy_dawg Wait I thought the guy who composed this was called Lune, as in Clair, de Lune! Mindblown.
@@fabriceclement6587 lune means Moon.

they sounded really good, but this is so cursed 😭 I love it
I remember when this guy was a teenage kid playing ragtime piano on the corner of Main Street at Disneyland.
Played this while a thunderstorm was raging outside, the best vibes
Gotta be honest, this is one of my favourite pieces of music and I don't think you can play it in the "wrong" style because these are all excellent.
So wrong that it's absolutely RIGHT! So brilliantly rendered! High marks for technical artistry and humor! Really great!
The little right-hand gestures on the really high keys at 1:43 and 1:47 are so delicious! Also that glissando at 0:20 is insane.
Excellent! Retains so much of the original emotion! Masterful!! And with a large helping of humor! Plus Great Playing! THANKS!

Starts of quietly and then when the ragtime hits the hole room shakes including his chair
Do a full version of Clair de Lune in stride piano please!!

your playing in any style so soooooo impressive! I'm blown away by true musicians like you! well done :)
YES! I’m so happy you made this its own video! Phenomenal work here!
I hate how much I love this
can someone please explain the difference between stride and ragtime?
I’m having difficulty with that too
I have noticed stride is a little slower than ragtime, I will say that.
It is easy to get confused because they are Essentially the same thing

@@m2j573 ah thanks!
@@m2j573 OK, so Stride is roughly speaking, "I wanna do two ragtime versions." No complaints here!

You know we wanted to hear that in Tango.
You're a genius man.
Curious what you'd do to Grieg's _In the Hall of the Mountain King._
Exactly the styles I was hoping for!
Beautiful

haha we love you jonny
Can you please do Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley next?
I'd like to hear Toccata and Fugue in D Minor in various styles.
Don't know how you do it, but under your hands it sounds like it was intended for every of these from the beginning.
your style fascinates me...I would like to learn how to play piano
No idea how I knew your videos, but I’m Glad I do
Absolute beautiful performance 🙌 jonny I loved it 👍 buddy 👌my favorite song
Amazing!!! Thanks, Jonny. Cheers !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though they were played wrong, they still sounded brilliant 👏
What about ragtime songs in other styles
I love it..!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼✨✨✨✨✨
Congrats on 300k subs!! 🥳
How 'bout a swing song, like In the Mood or Sing Sing Sing as a classical piece?
He is amazing
Why do people even click on the video if they wanna dislike. Why would you dislike such an epic video!
Stride got me bursting out laughing when I heard it
Ngl Latin sounds like an anime opening-
Lo máximo increible

Very good interpretation!
Ragtime makes everything better #changemymind
I can't do that, because you are correct.
Fun fact: Debussy actually was a contemporary of Scott Joplin and composed his own ragtime pieces. “Golliwog’s cakewalk” is one example.
@@samuelporter850 Impressionist Ragtime. Interesting. Thanks. Didn't know that Claude crossed over into Scott's territory.
This is insane...
The Stride just sounds like something i've already heard on this channel 😳
#2 Latin style:
Me, uppon hearing the first notes: "Yay, issa me, Mari....oh, wait..."
Can we buy these "arrangements" in sheet music form???? They're great!!
Scot Joplin would have loved loved that 😂👍👍👍Brilliant

also, what is the actual difference between stride and ragtime? They sound similar but I know they're different
The Moonlight Sanada. (next up)

Stride is definitely the best version!
How about the Moonlight Sonata or Gymnopedie No. 1? 😅

Cual es diferencia técnica entre el ragtime y el stride?
Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu!!! but this one is so incredible. currently learning your happy birthday in 7 styles and the ragtime section does not like me at all!
I came here for clair in ragtime and I got de lune in ragtime... I am not dissapointed
They all worked for me except the Latin version!
Love it❤️
I'll go there: Chopin's Funeral March
I made it early and I was NOT disappointed!!

Hearing Claire de lune this cheerefull is like a pain
The title should be: "Clair de Line in 3 piano styles, which are righter than the original"
"Believe" in 3 wrong style
Too weird, too cool.
I'm having a hard time hearing a (big enough) difference between Stride and Ragtime (to separate one from another).
Why does Latin Clair de lune sound like it would be in a Mario Galaxy game?! 😳
Which is the model of your piano??
Yamaha CP4 Stage, no estoy seguro si lo está usando con un VST
ragtime could be a mario song

Pleas play Glenn Miller
