Once when 2B finally gave up to her burden due to her love for him and refused to kill 9s, Yorha was planning on decommissioning her as a failed type E android but 9S chose to kill himself for 2B to live and made her swear to a cruel oath, to keep killing so they can be together forever even if he won’t remember her. That’s why 9S weapon is literally called Cruel Oath

But she was never broken entirely, her character arc showed that she was close to being human then any other android given the experience and character arc she got throughout her journey. Prime examples like sparing Pascal despite hating machines with extreme prejudices and even saving him and helping him at times, showed she can change and move on.

I just realized something, Accord could most likely alter the timeline of the pearl harbor descent and save A2 and the rest. We know she can, because she did it multiple times in drakengard 3, so potentially there can be a timeline where they survived. That's just my thinking though.
It's so cool to see stuff about A2's backstory! The YoRHa stage play is actually what made me interested in Nier: Automata in the first place, with all it's cool imagery, compelling characters, and interesting themes.

For anyone wondering, the story of the play is more or less the same thing explained in this video and in the games intel logs given to you when you first visit Anemone as A2. There are some differences though, such as the Red Girls/Terminal making an appearance.

When I heard A2 say "Command betrayed you" in the Forest Kingdom, I got excited for finally seeing her perspective. But then Route C&D where sequels to everything, not different sides to the same story as I had expected, and I got no answers to what she meant. This is one of the few things that makes Automata less than perfect. It doesn't ruin anything for me, it just makes it confusing(Note that I really like confusing games such as Kingdom Hearts, but I don't like it when stuff is teased and then not... fullfilled, I guess). I mean, the game already does a great job of not leaning to much on NieR or any outside material, but that makes it a bit of a bitch to understand fully. Kingdom Hearts at least had the audacity of having all information packed neatly in games that are all available to us, not in different media that are out of our reach. Unless you want to pay huge shipping prices and can understand japanese
After the end of Automata I still didn't understand who was running everything from the YoRHa side. There had to be an entity that was aware of humanity's extinction, who decided to create YoRHa for the sake of the original androids, create the moon server and spread the lie that humanity was still alive. Up to ending C I thought the YoRHa commander might have something to do with it, but in the last playthrough it seems she's also a pawn. After the bunker is destroyed there isn't any authority left on the android side. The last ones with the ability to make any decisions are the Pods, so do they work for someone or could they have designed the system from the start?
You're basically asking who is the mastermind or group that orchestrated the entire moon fake and YoHra conspiracy... I don't know, the game only tells us it was androids trying to give other androids a purpose to exist.
@@carlotta4th very late comment, but isn't the moon server real though, because the machines were originally were targeting the moon server, but changed their mind and wanted to go to a different world instead. And iirc the moon server has the human DNA, however I don't know if it's replicate DNA, but since their talking about literal humans, it would mostly be pure human DNA samples.

I mean, the game already does a great job of not leaning to much on NieR or any outside material, but that makes it a bit of a bitch to understand fully. Kingdom Hearts at least had the audacity of having all information packed neatly in games that are all available to us, not in different media that are out of our reach. Unless you want to pay huge shipping prices and can understand japanese

After the end of Automata I still didn't understand who was running everything from the YoRHa side. There had to be an entity that was aware of humanity's extinction, who decided to create YoRHa for the sake of the original androids, create the moon server and spread the lie that humanity was still alive.
Up to ending C I thought the YoRHa commander might have something to do with it, but in the last playthrough it seems she's also a pawn. After the bunker is destroyed there isn't any authority left on the android side.
The last ones with the ability to make any decisions are the Pods, so do they work for someone or could they have designed the system from the start?
That's the fault of the devola and popola units from the game I believe.
You're basically asking who is the mastermind or group that orchestrated the entire moon fake and YoHra conspiracy... I don't know, the game only tells us it was androids trying to give other androids a purpose to exist.
@@carlotta4th very late comment, but isn't the moon server real though, because the machines were originally were targeting the moon server, but changed their mind and wanted to go to a different world instead. And iirc the moon server has the human DNA, however I don't know if it's replicate DNA, but since their talking about literal humans, it would mostly be pure human DNA samples.
It would be interesting for automata to have a prequel in the time of A2 and YoRHa back when she was with the force.

I know Nier Automata lore is the most relevant now, but later can you do a video about how Drakengard 2 does not fit Dakengard ending A or why only Ending E or 3 can lead to the original Drakengard? It was explained in the Lore summary vid briefly, but frankly the only simple one is Drakengard ending E leading to Nier.
