Ahh, I understand it now! And so, the pH in the blood decreases in the presence of carbon dioxide as carbonic acid dissociates and forms H+ (and HCO3-) ions, and this in turn causes the Hb to unload more oxygen as Hb's affinity for oxgen decreases when the blood is more acidic? :D
