right it wasn't even dirty and he worried bout the viewers Lmao.. dude is insane and soo soo talented.. just rides everything and so well... i wish i started riding young man... started at 45 but still having time of my life...
I tense up while watching this trying my best not to fall out of my bed lol. The fish eye perspective and trails gives a very cool experience. I'm not even into this sport and enjoy this video.
I could never do this...I can barely ride a normal bike on a normal, flat road in ideal conditions...but I do love watching the people who can. I absolutely love seeing the skill and passion people have for their different interests. Also love that you kept pausing to chat with the kids who were also doing that run.
I never noticed that rock as a landing on Double Down... probably because I cant reach it haha - great riding with you, shoulda come back on Sunday, it was cold.. i mean fun!! ;)
@@SkillsWithPhil hey Phil, you’ve probably been asked this a million times so apologies. But how did you work your way up to large jumps? What’s the best way to start without breaking my body in half?
Hey All it's been about a year since I made this video but they've made a lot of changed to this bike park since. Here's what it looks like in the dry! ua-cam.com/video/m4p2A8foKn8/v-deo.html
@Skills With Phil - Great video today. I live about 25 minutes from Bolton so it is cool to see a video on local trails. You make these very difficult trails look easy. Love the vids so keep them coming and thanks for representing Vermont Mountain Biking is such a positive way!!
I just stumbled upon the video simply from the youtube algorithm, and I was transfixed the entire time just watching the technicality and precision of this artform that I have no knowledge of. Incredible
Place looks so gnarly for a mere mortal such as myself. Chuckled when you mentioned that you were not attacking the mountain as you bash through sketchy roots😁
I don't know how you guys ride that terrain especially downhill and so fast that's really crazy when the guys do it on those super narrow paths so high. I normally don't like you bikers being in street traffic but I give you guys much props for stuff like this.
Mountain bike parks have changed drastically in the past 15 years, but the terrain that bolton has is always super unique. Also the view from the top when it's not cloudy is amongst the best in the state.
I agree. They are putting in a lot of work and the owners are passionate riders themselves. The terrain they have to work with is actually quite challenging, but it also makes for some crazy unique terrain. I can't wait to see what it looks like in 5 years.
I remember that first trail from my first DH race 17 years ago. It hasn't changed much, a few new smooth corners that look fun. Great to see Bolton back in the mix of bike parks!
How are you able to not fall like 100 times, this video really impressed me. Even considering the weather conditions, you are an absolute mauntain bike legend my dude
Hi Phil, greetings from Australia 🇦🇺. Just wanted to say how much I (and the family) enjoy your content. It is informative, clean (no swearing etc so my kids can also enjoy it with me) and just so humble in your delivery. Keep up the fantastic work. Your sponsors should be proud to call you a representative. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Phil I am so jealous. You are so good at ridding it just makes me want to try the jumps but I'd land on my face and break my jaw or crack my skull. Not to mention those GT bikes are flipping awesome!
Can you make an edit and point with an arrow or anything we can evidence where you keep your eyes on the track? That would help us improve our ride a lot. Thanks mate. I´m a huge fan and so happy to see your channel is growing big.
Good video👍 Chairifts and gondolas hang on a "rope" though, not a cable. A cable is one strand, a rope many strands, which is how the chairlift rope is constructed.
Somebody mentioned that earlier, which was news to me and also a cool fun fact. I also went down a rabbit hole on how they fused the ends together to make a loop! Anyway I guess i should be referring to my bikes shifter cables as shifter ropes. Hehe, I'll probably keep calling them cables myself, but it's good to know if I'm ever talking to somebody who works around chairlifts and they call it a rope, I'll know what they are referring to!
Thease bikes are amazing their like dirt bikes without motors back in the day when I rode mt bikes I could of never hit the trail your on even if I had the skills and I had good expensive bikes treck and GT triple triangles and when I was13 /14 /15 I rode free style most of time but I hade a giant gravel bike it was half mountain bike and half road bike with 18 gears it was really fast and good for wheelie.
These are so satisfying to watch but I absolutely cannot watch with audio lol! I automatically try to match his breathing and end up hyperventilating lmao
my dearest child u have mastered ultra instinct I have seen your moves you don’t have to think u just do the way u move the brakes the way u swerve when your one inch away from a root it’s time for a triple black diamond
I had to pause the video and finish laughing at 16:54 Siri interrupting. I don't know why, but that really got to me. So darn funny. I think i spent 5 minutes laughing. "Thanks" Siri, for your input. :D Love your vids Phil. As of writing, i havent looked to see if you got any vids for beginners or not. If you don't have one, maybe make one? Maybe things you wish you knew when you started but you think is important. Maybe even a video, as a joke, explaining the utter must obvious silly things ("This here large circular thing is a wheel" *Canned applause*) Anyways, looking forward to more content. Wish i knew of your channel sooner.
Loving the vid so far Phill, gotta stop and ask how you run 26 psi and don’t burp your tires everywhere?? what tires you use, dh casing? or using cushcore?
@@SkillsWithPhil wow okay so you change your psi that significant for the type of riding. I usually change it like max 3 psi if its dry to muddy. I should give it a go with a lower pressure now that I got the ADR in the rear. appreciate the response, love watching the perspective of a rider who can attack any trail given to them. Ride on
Classic Phil. Casually one-handed cleaning GoPro mid-air on a jump.
At first, I thought it was an exaggregation from you, but then I watched the whole video! 🤯
Suicide one hand Lens-cleaner
The one mid-trail on wet roots was just as ridiculous lol
right it wasn't even dirty and he worried bout the viewers Lmao.. dude is insane and soo soo talented.. just rides everything and so well... i wish i started riding young man... started at 45 but still having time of my life...

Phil sounding so calm yet blasting through the trail... what a legend.
His speech is calm but his breathing sounds like he is fighting for his life
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ Amen
I love how he’s just doing jumps, insane corners, treacherous trails, and yet keeps a calm conversation going with the camera
I tense up while watching this trying my best not to fall out of my bed lol. The fish eye perspective and trails gives a very cool experience. I'm not even into this sport and enjoy this video.
Same, it looks so cool but it's also something you would have to pay me a huge amount of money to to :D
Home from school today because J missed my bus and Phil Kmetz blesses me for a video to watch. Thank you 🙏🏽

Phil’s channel is so sick. He makes it fell like you are riding with him. He is one of the people that gave me motivation to start my own channel.
I found myself holding my breath 😳 God Bless and thanks for the ride‼️🤙🏼
Man this park looks so different from other parks. So much rawness! I like it haha

You know what I love about you guys? You always sound so happy! It makes me happy and it’s a good start to the day.
the 19:51 midair gopro wipe was sick
In my area.....when the trails get that wet they are shut down. Good to see some inclement weather riding.
Bolton Valley is an awesome, old school, old time ski area.
This gave me anxiety. My riding goes to pieces in the muck. I would have slide on every single rock. Mind blowing riding. Gnarly looking crash too!
Love the casual cleaning of the lens mid jump 😂 19:51
I think Bolton in a few years can be a really good bike park for all levels
I agree. They are putting in a lot of work and the owners are passionate riders themselves. The terrain they have to work with is actually quite challenging, but it also makes for some crazy unique terrain. I can't wait to see what it looks like in 5 years.
That last bit was nutty, doesn't even look like a run

Dang dude! Imma be real. This actually made my night watching you! You’re freaking awesome!!!
Can't wait for some more bolton snowboard vids this year!
19:52 Did you wiped your GoPro midair? F*cking legend!
Great vid! just got into MTB this year. Your vids have been extremely helpful. Thanks for all your your work, and Hailey's too.
This is so cool! Props to you for doing these trails. I would have hit a tree by the first trail!
This guy is cool I like he pulls over and waits for traffic
your videos make me wanna drag my old bike out of the garage and start riding again, really tempted to go for a ride rn
I assume your brakes were not working... no sane rider would ride that fast voluntarily in the wet like you did... :-) Kudos!!!
i love that , i wont die but i still get to watch :-) ... the visual is great

You can do this, no injuries
This is nuts. Narrating, cleaning camera. And the fact that anyone calls these “trails”
Dang, just 500k subs... you should get pretty more in my opinion ;) continue your great videos Phil
Phil - I love the commentary as you ride. You keep it real.
OMFG!! Bolton Valley is my all time favorite mountain. I am sooo happy to see them running. Only lift more rickety than highland's..hehe

So bumpy! 😵 This was both scary and thrilling to watch, hope you stay safe lol
19:51 Too easy, wipe Gopro lens mid-air... You're a beast, Phil! 🤣
hey phil i love your content i live in Australia and we don't have many tracks like that i love biking and bmx
This looks like fun. I’ll have to try it out one day. Might fracture an arm or a leg, but it looks like a lot of fun
That looks gnarly on a GoPro, I cant imagine what it’s like in real life.
The moment my bike touches mud I end up leaving a body imprint on the ground 🗿. This guys amazing
Fun day out with mr and Mrs skills
This guy never fails to impress I swear.
I've been waiting for this video, thank you Phil! Can't wait to get ride Bolton next season! Cheers from Canada, eh! \m/
Sick! Had a race during the foggy rain and the bridges were deadly. Keep it up!
I love how this guy is just talking so casually while flying 40 mph down rocky, muddy, curvy terrain in thick fog.
gotta love the airhorn brakes

Hey Phil, our trails resemble your remark 😂, but not all the time!

I did this trail at night and it was wet saw 5 wrecks on my way down 2 where mine they hurt but i got better every run it a load of fun

Lovely Automn feels
You should come to New Zealand, Gisborne & ride Fox Street its got two grade 5's, lots of trails that are super fun & also some gaps.
I just randomly pressed on this video expecting bike jumps but wow impressive and looks TERRIFYING
thanks for stopping by! Big jumps look impressive but often times they’re actually easier. Technical slippery terrain is much more challenging.
