I hid the bodies behind a McDonald’s in France
JAY HARLOWWWW WHATSUPP
I tried it, but it gave me matty balls
I actually pre-ordered Party Rock Mansion on iTunes, and got it when it released. I’m probably one of the lowest amount of people that did
Ya lost me at ‘Flipping houses on TV’ …. Being a “Normal Job” 😂😂😂
haha most of these aren't "normal" per se, just seemed a tad more conventional than being a famous musician
Hahaha lol true.
Its called clickbait
@@mattyballzI literally came here when i saw him on the thumbnail to question how what he does is normal, he’s still in movies and shit.
If he can swing a hammer that’s a job
I'm surprised Kirst Novoselik wasn't on here, he was the bassist for Nirvana and became a lawyer.
I thought he was a governor some where
"Well the music scene is dangerous"
"Im now a lawyer, present your cases!"
😐 That's because Nirvana didn't make music. They made depressing noises which were both unpleasant AND painful to the ears.
I heard that he became a lawyer. Good for him.
I heard he joined the military
Honestly I respect this as much as YTbers who actually leave the platform and do something more meaningful. You got the bag, now use it to actually fulfill what you couldn’t before.
Review tech USA
I think these type of careers are probably the most fullfilling
WAIT HE QUIT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO@@Boggiejonesent
You can't do UA-cam forever. You can get rich as you can before it dries up
And what is meaningful in this world?
Honorary mention: You forgot Kelis. Now a personal chef. Still sings from time to time but she mostly cooks and specializes in sauce creation. Something to think about for a possible Sequel?
That's actually really cool to know!
cool fact love ur name
Is she the lady who sang milkshake?
@bluejem1315 yes, Milkshake was one of her biggest hits, and now she makes milkshakes!*
*forgive me, I can't resist a dad joke. It's an illness 😭
She has a farm too and she grows her own crops
The Jonas Brothers are back together.
I respect Kevin… a level headed guy.
Seeing Bruce Dickinson as a normal pilot was so strange to me since I was raised on Iron Maiden, and I was used to seeing him as this super charismatic showman. It's great that he could focus on some personal pursuits away from music though
Imagine being a stranded soldier a bruce dickinson of iron maiden comes to your rescue
...in a helicopter blasting THE TROOPER
He didn't, he's still in Maiden and has just released a solo record.
I got two tickets to Iron Maiden baby come with me Friday don’t say maybe
@@aquabotdumbass, he didn't say he stopped doing music
Switching to real estate in 2009 and succeeding is wild
LMFAO were on top of the world in 2012. Even showed up at the Super Bowl. Yes it was nepotism, but they had two huge records that people still know today. No one can ever take that away.
GOATS
@@SlothShower the fact they're nepo babies who are related to each other makes the end of the group a bit sadder to me. Family should come first before money or business, imo.
They made an underground dance style originated in Australia commercial and popular around the world! 👌
@@timsunderland5153 oh word, hell yes they did
And they had that Kia ad?
LMFAO was so huge in the early 2010s. You couldn't go _anywhere_ without hearing them and I've had many a'fuzzy nights accompanied by their music haha
Crazy idea for a vid. I’m really liking this new generation of UA-camrs. Dudes like you Patrick cc Patrick Gavia 2lazy2try etc…. Well done matty, this was a really good one my man. 🏆🍻
LMFAO really could have stayed together if they didn't let their egos get in the way on tour.
Snowstorm aint stopping my 🐐. Im from Illinois and we just had a hell of a time w/ one. Keep up the awesome vids matty!
Wisconsin so i feel ur pain haha, thank you
Kevin Jonas is literally touring the new album with his brothers as we speak
SOOOOOOOOOO👀
I saw the thumbnail and was like ridiculous😭😭😭😭😭
Bruce Dickinson has talked about how he once piloted himself to a concert and had to fly over africa to get there. The designs on the plane freaked out a bunch of tribes who thought an evil spirit was coming for them.
How low was he flying that the "tribes" could see the livery? How did they relay this info to him? Seems like a bullshit story, and I'm not sure whenever this was (80s?) that there were tribes in africa who didn't know what a plane was.
I'll add another one - Alex James from the Britpop band Blur.
While Blurs lead singer Damon Albarn went off to create the highly successful group 'Gorillaz', bass player Alex James bought a farm and became a cheese farmer! He's also hosed a Classical music radio show on BBC radio 4 and he is also a food writer with a weekly column for a newspaper, and writes a monthly article about cheese for Esquire Magazine.
Sir Mix-a-Lot should be on this list he bought a bunch of apartments and townhomes in the Seattle area in the 90s and to this day they are his main source of income, he still tours around the Northwest doing county fair and small events and everyone in the NW loves him always sells out, I've seen him several times at the Portland Rose Festival and Oregon State fair he puts on a great show and is just a really good dude over all. I'm legitimately happy for him so many one hit wonders burn out and have nothing to show for it.
Sir Slum-a-Lord
Speaking of Bruce, his solo stuff is wild. He did Acdc style record and it features early Maiden related appearance of Janick Gers and then he went 180 with balls to picasso which is basically his Faith no more Ween record and it is fucking great. He even kinda raps on one song and pulls it off. It also features Tears of the Dragon whichbis probably his best song ever. And then his next album was post grunge alt rock with corny lyrics and it is a trainwreck but then Bruce bounced back massively with Accident of Birth which is better than any Maiden record since at least 88 or even 86. It also features Adrian Smith with his mojo intact and then he followed it up with Chemical Wedding which is basically nerd metal album based on William Blake's works and it sounds cool as fuck sludgy almost doomy at times
king in crimson is a killer track
It goes without saying Bruce's solo output in the 90s was about a million times better than the pair of Maiden albums lacking his vocals.
Bruce is back with Iron Maiden since 2000. Last year they opened their new worldwide tour in my hometown in Ljubljana in May 28.
Omg! My little nephews watch the Vanilla Ice part in the Ninja Turtles movie over and over again. I played Ice Ice Baby for them and they loved it!
How is vanilla ice getting his own tv show a “normal” job?
I think he was doing renovations before he got the show. But also Bruce Dickinson rejoined Iron Maiden, being a pilot was a hobby and job... I don't think he *needed* to do it, unlike Vanilla Ice. Same with Kevin Jonas. I don't think he needed to get a day job, and Jonas Brothers are back together again.
On Bruce Dickinson he ALSO was an international ranked fencer and owns a fencing supply company. 😊😊😊
And big love to Ms. Badu. 😊❤😊
Ms Badu is also a song writer, she has mentions for Drake’s song HOTLINE BLING
Not mega famous but Fenriz and Nocturno Culto have worked as a postal worker and school teacher respectively for decades.
Excellent vid. A good one to look into is Dan Spitz: from lead guitarist for Anthrax to Watchmaker.
You know it’s a great day when mattyballz uploads 🔥
The glasses are really working for you in this video! I hope you're feeling more comfortable in them :)
Good video as always Ballz
Great video bröther
Awesome Video! Apart from Vanilla Ice the only artist I knew having a normal job was Steve Jocz, the former drummer of Sum 41. He's been working in real estate since he left the band.
Yo Matty stay safe
Vanilla Ice preformed in my small home town in Canada recently, (I didnt go but my parents did) I they said he was still a great preformer and do to him having limit hit songs of his own, he did a lot of covers. They said he was super down to earth.
Steve Jocz the former drummer from sum 41 left a while ago after his son was born, on the sum 41 subreddit there’s a post of a guy standing next to him at a house viewing with a caption like “Today Steve Jocz was my bloody realtor!”
As a German, I greatly appreciate the fact you put a Jeremy Fragrance Clip in your video.
V.Ice seems like a chill dude fr, and loved him as the security guard in the music store in the mall on the movie The New Guy!!
The industry is a jungle, and what ever these guys d see do, I’m always wishing these guys the best!!
A guitarist for The Acacia Strain worked at a local video game store I visit a lot. They ain’t gigantic but they still famous. He still is in the band tho as far as I remember. Not sure if he still works at the game store
This is pretty wholesome.
Like anyone else we all want change so I don’t blame artist for wanting to do something else. I think in the music industry it’s best to half an exit strategy…fans are fickle and one can’t always be on top forever… I’m happy everyone took another route and have been happy in what they are doing.
Hard to Swallow is a great time capsule of an album and I saw V-ICE live during the tour for that album and it remains amongst the top shows of my life.
Haven't seen many concerts I guess
@@johnfoskey7855 I've seen tons of concerts.
Small open floor venue with high energy. Tons of fun.
Also, you're spending your time on the internet trying to bring down others for something thru enjoyed 20+ years ago.
You're a sad pathetic person and I hope you learned to experience joy in life instead of trying to dull the shine of others. Best of luck.
Matty ballz drops another banger video
Krist novoselic who was the bassist of nirvana is a teacher now(I think)
I actually saw Vanilla Ice as Captain Hook. It was a theatre near me one Christmas. Of course, he performed the song too
ballz🥶
People seem to equate fame with wealth, with almost no understanding what a losing proposition it is to be in the music industry.
06:45 this would've been an insane transition for an ad
Great vid! Don’t think it was mentioned but redfoos solo career in particular wasn’t all that bad in the following years after LMFAO. Let’s get ridiculous, New thang, and juicy wiggle are 3 solo hits he released in the span of a few years that got a fairly good amount of attention and positive feedback. With that being said, none of those hits can compare to the huge numbers songs like get crazy, sexy and I know it, and party rock anthem got.
Vanilla Ice owns the publishing rights to the queen song now as well as his own ice ice baby song. Smart move. He did it after he learned about Michael Jackson buying the Beatles catalog.
That's kinda scummy if you ask me
Erykah Badu also has a brand deal with Berner's business Cookies.
1:53 imo hard to swallow is kinda nu metalish and also the fact that he kinda looks like Fred durst is kinda funny lol
Brooooooo we love lmfao!!!!😂😂😂
being a famous musician and then having a tv show after music fails is not a ordinary job.
Could have also mentioned muhammed suicmez, dude dropped two of the most influential tech death albums, toured for a bit then dropped off the face of the Earth seemingly and has been working as an engineer at BMW for a while now.
Pressure 4-5 (a band made famous by the song "Melt me Down" that was featured in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3's soundtrack)'s lead vocalist Adam Rich went on to become a high school chemistry teacher following the dissolvement of the band.
Bro, interesting idea and decent research on the video.....if I could add some constructive feedback I'd check your videos again the day after it's finished with the whole production and edits. See if you spot anything, then get a friend who is probably on a spectrum where you will get honesty to make sure that you have a great finished product. It's a gr8 video m8, just some bits seem a bit rushed...cheers
Erykah still tours and does shows and does DJ sets so doula thing is just a passion project. She didn't give up music for it.
yea majority of ppl didnt give up music rlly just thought it was interesting
@@mattyballzbro she has her own weed strain collab with cookies
Rtrded as way of spelling that name
yea she’s def still doing her music thing. wish she actually toured more 😢
Bruce Dickinson's BEST known by Christopher Walken's portrayal of him in the cowbell sketch.
Don’t know what career it would be considered but Erykah put that curse on Blueface and so far it’s been working!
Professional spellcasting
@@mattyballz I need to apprentice under her!😄👍
All musicians should work day jobs and set their egos aside, it keeps you connected to the real world
how did u forget abt green in the rem discog? one of my personal favs of theirs :(
Respect💪💯👍
According to Billboard Magazine, the FIRST Number 1 hip hop/rap song ever was Blondie’s “Rapture”. Really surprised you didn’t know that…
John “Jay” Geils’ career change is really fascinating to me and he never gets mentioned in these things.
Man I haaaated LMFAO
how could you
give matty his flowers
2:40 I *need* to see images of Vanilla Ice as Captain Hook, that sounds goofy as hell
I love what all of them have begun doing after their music careers. But, my favorite are becoming a pilot, construction, and being a literal birth doula! I am often around women that perform doula work, so it's cool to see a famous and legendary artist like Erykah do it herself.
“Didn’t work so well” son, that nü metal tour was sold out!
I would not mind a version of this video but for famous UA-camrs or retired big content creators. I think we should normalize and even propagate creators purse their degree or work a normal 9-5. I am a small youtuber and college student that also works a regular job and I find the balancing act to be rewarding.
Miss Badu being a doula is very cool
NOT THE LIGHTS NO MATTY!
Try Escada Hot Summer Nights 😊
are the ear piercings new or did you get them earlier ? it's a good look imo
new, trying em out, thanks!
This is nice because you see failure and success and ways to get back on your feet
Matty balls is the best
yo i thought the power goin out was gonna be a sponsor transition, i was thinkin "what is bro tryna sell me"
Keep up the good shit bro
I thought the hard to swallow album was pretty good. I didn't like it at first, but after listening to it a few times it grew on me
At least they were famous one time. Here a normal office job in the day and bassist of local non famous group in the night.
Bro, no mention of Vanilla Ice goes Amish?! It has 2 seasons which is wild
ig i was more focused on "normal job" type things he was doing
@@mattyballz😐 The Amish literally build their own houses and raise horses to pull their buggies. Do you even know how much work it takes to raise a horse? Horses will lift their tail, fart in your face and then kick with no warning. They're extremely moody.
Sterling Morrison was another, I believe he became a tugboat captain after his days with the Velvet Underground
Bro getting that bag
Did balls just make a Jeremy fragrance reference?
muhammed suiçmez from necrophagist left to work as an engineer for BMW, a smaller band perspectively he's known as one of the most technically proficient guitar players and have a massive cult following
How Can you say that Redfoo’s Party Rock Mansion was a commercial failure? He had like two absolute bangers in that album
My boy, Jeremy haha
6:46 😂😂
Yeah I wouldn’t call having a successful TV show named after you a “normal job”
Berry looking like a farmer from the village with them brows
Potion to bring back to the internet the vanilla ice “back stabber” video
If someone has video of Vanilla Ice actually working construction, please put it up.
Vanilla ice is richer than 97% of rappers. He isn’t working a “regular job” he literally renovates his OWN homes and sells them.
I know a couple musicians that work regular jobs
Redfoos album didn't even sell 180 the first week? Did they even promote the album? 😮
The fact that you implied LMFAO created the Melbourne Shuffle is fucking nuts.
Vanilla ice came to my city in Ohio (obetz) and performed last fall
Bruce Dickinson shouldn't really be on this list because it's more of something he does on the side rather than something he does to pay the bills because the music doesn't sell, but Iron Maiden ABSOLUTELY sells. I would kill for HALF of Bruce Dickinson's yearly Maiden income.
tbf most ppl on this list probably didnt need regular jobs to pay bills, and like bruce most went back to music in one way or another
Didn’t the vanilla ice home show get caught stealing the materials they flipped houses with
And comment for the snow storm lol
only 2 minutes in and my day has been made by learning the fact Vanilla Ice made a nu-metal album lmao
Power, you say 🤔🤔🤔
that's gotta be Vergil's brand.
