- This summer all you need for a great lawn is want, If you want it then you can have it. you just have to want it enough to do the little things that make a big difference, in todays video we catch up on progress from the work we did 2 weeks ago when we scarified the lawn quite harshly, I think you will be impressed with the results. Will Britney be singing again, watch and find out.

Fantastic job again Dan, Could not ask for better
🙃
Well i will try
Love watching an expert at work. Superb results 👌🏻
Daniel, I've implemented a dinner fork as well to pull up undesirables. Just don't tell my wife. Lawn is looking mint.
Absolutely outstanding Daniel san!
Thanks nick
Now that does look fantastic ! Do you have any pictures of this lawn before you first started looking after it?
Easy question. Does the client water it and if so how often?
I been doing it this year but they used to but been lucky with the rain this year so not been on it at all with a sprinkler since i did the last video here with the galactic green
hope this isn't a stupid or annoying question , but what happened to the field trial you started earlier in the year ?
Great question hoping to crack on next week, its been a drought and then non stop rain since we did it but can tell you its had another dose of roundup as it started coming back and needs another one as its still coming back so so far my predictions what the video are about are correct
Hi daniel.its looking hotttttttt ali walsall west midlands england junction 10 m6 Walsall churckery 😊
I’ve been to Wembley a few times dan and the grass at Wimbledon is in another stratosphere best grass ever some parts 8 mm in height New Zealand seed remade every year starting September 🎉🎉
fantastic looking lawn!! Top notch!
Your granular fertiliser is amazing, used mine for the first time a week ago and it’s unbelievable
I only sell the best stuff
Nice work hibbert
Beautiful job
Nice bit of "Lawn Porn", tried your Dan's magic/Galactic and boom! My lawn actually popped man, great stuff that! Gonna get some Orbit soon
Nice one
😂 the Britney Spears of the garden world, great results 👍
Lawn looks like a green tartan carpet. Perfection Daniel.
A kilt lol
Incredible stuff. I guess next holiday Bolton. Going for some DHLE groundhopping. 😂 Just joking, but would be fun 😅 greets from Germany
Guten tag!!
Looks amazing, top job 😊👍
Hi Dan, could I ask a couple of questions please?
Thinking of getting a verti cutter, you said the only difference between verti and scarifier were lifting horizontal growth/penetrating soil. Could I use my scarifier on a slightly higher setting for similar results?
2nd is, most people harp on about scarifing mid-late atumn before winter. Would you do anything else on this lawn for the winter?
Many thanks, Graham.
Yes you can do that i do that with ye olde faithful if dont have the allett with me but it can be aggresive when turning,
If it continues on this weather i may do another scarify but not sure yet but happy to cut for next few week
What a awesome job you have done!
Any great looking verticut lawns posted and you've got your thief ;-)
Haha
Dirty Rascal 😂 He did it again.
Beauty of a lawn
Absolutely stunning, but must admit I personally prefer the parallel stripes to the chessboard pattern here. But know it is not good practice to constantly mow in the same direction. These worm casts are an absolute nuisance at the moment, and so early due to all the wet weather, they spoil the look of a nice lawn. Any updates on that experiment you did a while ago in the field, using weedkiller to kill off that section? Hope it is coming soon, would like to see the results, as I am considering trying it, and going the lazy, less work route on my back garden, to totally kill it off, and then reseed, rather than go through the back breaking work of digging it all up, at the moment my back lawn is probably 90% weeds like daisies, dandelions etc, and 10% grass,so the option of just digging the weeds by hand using a daisy grubber would take days🤦
Yes doing an update soon weathers been useless for it, drought then daily rain,
But its come back twice!! So needs a 3rd spray off
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert thanks mate, if I take that route, sounds like I better get a lot of glyphosate then, and be prepared to wait a while and spray at least three times, but I suppose it will still work out loads cheaper, and no back breaking work of having to dig🤣
Thanks for all the tips, what do you recommend as a cost effective edging to a lawn, I need 45m of edging. Many thanks

Hi Daniel. Can you please send me the link so I can purchase your lawn products on eBay. Thanks.
Its all in the video description
Absolutely beautiful.
how often would you sharpen the blade on the cylinder mower and whats the best way, ta
Every few years but regular backlapping is good, but best way is on a proper grinding bench
Looks amazing. 👏👏👏
Farmer Britain's Best lawn? Whos's he Lol
Good one that
Daniel
What’s the best thing for lawn weeds, I’ve got clover / daisy’s & plenty of POA, the lawn weed killer that says ‘ not for commercial use’ is pretty useless.
I’ve done all the scarify/ verticut- top dressing / over seeding & mow every week atleast ?
I also get lots of Mushrooms!- I put that down to adding compost to sand & topsoil as a top dressing
Friggin hell how uniform are those stripes. Amazing 👏👏👏
that's pretty freaking special
Thanks
very very beautiful lawn
Looks really nice!
thats prettier than my wife
And mine
🔥🔥🔥
that's fantastic!!!
Now caste off banned are there any effective worm cast treatment’s recommended please
Looks insane
How's the test field going.
Slow lol bad weather/great weather meant not been able to do it and its come back twice so needs its 3rd round up treatment
Just wondering about stripes in the lawn. Former Leicester city groundsman famously did intricate stripe design. Could you show or explain how it's done.
Fabuous❤
Looks superb
Amazing result Dan, perfection for sure
No such thing
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert damn close though
Hi Dan, Just subbed to your channel. I let my ‘lawn’ grow over the whole summer to let bees feed on all the clover. I have now mown it down to about 1/2 inch. It looks really terrible! 30th Aug today. Is it too late to start scarifying and all your other treatment?
Watch my latest video was only filmed monday
Thank’s Dan,will do.
As usual brilliant
looking rearly nice that lawn today well done dan . Keith will be likeing that x
He will if looking down!
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert 💕
My scarifer has loose blades type. Can I use it as a scarifier and a verticutter if I raise the height for the blades not to penetrate the soil?
I only have a scarifer and a mower. No reel mower with different cassettes yet unfortunately
Yeah i do its just not as close as a groomer distance wise
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert cool then, I'll do it.
I should scarify twice a year if I understand and verticut at least once a month?
By the way thank you for your answers, you always reply to my comments I appreciate that a lot. Thank you for your time, energy and passion!
Hi Daniel soorry to hear about your thief ali walsall west midlands england junction 10 m6 Walsall churckery
My own fault, danny junc 3 m61
Hi Dan, beautiful work. Can I ask when it is ok to start scarifying grass (3 months old grass, loads of yellow stuff)? Thanks
Yeah thats fine
Annoying thing is, whoever nicked that attachment won’t have a clue what it is and I doubt there’s much of a black market for Allett Stirling parts 😂
Forgot to add it was on top of an old alloy wheel so think scrappers took it
Inspirational video
I live on the west coast of Ireland 47 inches of rain per annum. It rain for 187 days during the year
What are your thoughts to achieve a half decent lawn.
Is there hope.
Bet it rains that much here too and look at this
Hi Dan do you use the Harrier 48 or 56?
48 , 56 very heavy and wont fit in my van alongside the allett
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert thank you! I was thinking the same
Is this lawn going to be entered into the competition for Britain's best lawn again?
Theres no such comp anymore
Looks as good as St James' Park did at the weekend. Howay the lads.
Yes it looked great on saturday im looking out for newcastle this season
My lawn is so up and down and bumpy I can't cut as low any tips that would help with the lawn I have 2 make it better? Ps wat a great gob u did there first class
My lawns aint flat just find a height and direction that follow the humps the best
Another belter Dan. It was a sobering thought when you mentioned the end of the lawn season though.
Soon passes doesnt it!
How do you deal with ant hills? My lawn seems to have several coming up at the moment
Dunno mate dont think there is anything
hi cut my lawn short the next day mushrooms or toad stalls had grown in a couple of patches. but the lawn isn't that wet in that area. what's the best way to stop this from happening.
Nothing you can do just live alongside them
Great result Dan. Does it matter if you applied your Galactic & Orb-It after you cut it or the day before as you did here? Many thanks
I cut it the day before the application but you could cut and apply straight after
Absolutley gorgeous!
i hope you barred from entering the green jacket comp . aint no one gona compete danny boy
I think ive won it
Cracking job , I think it’s the best it’s either looked.
Scarified my back lawn last Sunday , will definitely try galactic green Orb it in a couple of weeks.
Picked up a 2nd hand - Kensington 14s , with a verticutter as part of the attachments 😁 , so will look forward to using the verticutter too 😅
Great find! Espesh with the verticutter
Amazing lawn as usual. Something pinched in Farnworth, I don't believe it.
Haha whats more worrying you know i live there
At least you got the Britannia, Freemasons and Royal Balti though
Mine will never match your work but I am trying, I have scarified, over seeded etc about 10 days ago, my question how long should I wait before mowing so I do not destroy the new seed growth ? and how long should I wait until I add Equilibrium and your other products ? thanks
As soon as it needs cutting cut but if worried just push and pull the mower, cutting is far more important than not cutting worrying about damage
Equilibrium after a few week
Do you have any links for galactic green?
Hi yes my website www.danielhibbertlawnexpert.co.uk
What setting do you like to use on the Kensington for the verticutter?
God knows as the dials broke, its end of life for this machine i just played till it was right
Wow just wow
Fantastic.
Some people would steal anything annoying for you I imagine. I was going to ask do you still do the lawn on the front of the house it was in your videos a lot last year. 🧐
Yeah it was in the last video here, why thumbnail
No I meant the lawn you did about a year ago called STOP your lawn dying
When scarifying is it best to be going with, going against, or going across your usual mower stripe direction?
I do one with then go at 45 degrees usually
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert cheers Dan
Hi Dan have looked back through your blogs and can’t find anything on aeration do you not hollow tine your lawns
No i certainly dont in the way your prob meaning
Why is that? Are golf course green keepers wasting their time then?
@@neilbelcher3577 no they need to do it so they dont get spongy surface for the golf balls otherwise the ball would just stop dead, but mine are lawns, do you look at this and think my god that well needs aerating?
No I certainly don’t your lawns look amazing but am just confused as other lawn care experts advocate hollowcoring to prevent compaction and allowing air to roots etc to prevent moss. You must remember I and your viewers aren’t all experts like you. I personally don’t want to aerate as it requires expensive machinery or hard work.
Ironically green thumb do it but they charge accordingly obviously.
@@neilbelcher3577 level with me now over all the youtube lawncare channels you have watched from all over the world, who has the best looking lawns in different conditions? Sun shade etc
Phenomenal job. Absolutely incredible. Sorry about the attachment getting nicked.
- have you ever used a product called Tenacity to deal with the Poa at all ??
My own fault!! Nope its illegal over here and highly carcinogenic so wont be using it, even if it becomes legal,
If you in uk and but it and get caught or pollute something your talking prison food so think twice before buying, amazon should be arrested
O wow really I didn’t know that - yea I stumbled across UA-cam (yup in North West in UK) pushing it as a fix for Poa so thought it might be worth a punt
Appreciate and value your advice 👍
Daniel. With the liquid products are there any that you need to be particularly careful with when applying near brick or stone? I understand Galactic because of the iron content but any other that can stain?
Yes just galactic and orb-it will stain but if rinsed off its fine its if its left on to dry you have the problem, a trick i do is to pre wet the flags etc to start the dilution process straight away if anything hits then rinse off again after
Thank you. Really appreciate the reply. Really enjoy the videos and knowledge you share. I will be happy if I can achieve something even half as good!
@@dazamondo you can
I know its each to their own but you having lived with "barenbrug" is 25mm your sweet spot? In addition what's the lowest you tried and said never again?
Well this is prem pitch and wouldnt want to go lower but barenbrug ive had at 15mm but needs cutting everyday to keep at that which i cant do
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert Good to know, i think on my restart i got a little carried away and went (with rotary) sub 20 or at least sub 25 and it wasn't happy. Positive being a self inflicted 2 weeks pain of sorts but its getting greener...just
@@Stormin_Mike you will get there
Next year will be your year any lawn done this year will be for next year, expecting big things from you
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert Cheers Dan, it most likely be next year as I foresee some challenges whilst germination evens itself out. The weather is so roller coaster it does my head in.
Great job .
I can't get my stripes looking good could it be that its not perfectly flat like all your lawns seem to be ?
My lawn here is far from flat just looks it
Hey Dan, I recently moved into a turfed new build which had massively overgrown.
