The worst thing about CHA is always waiting for these new and awesome products to be available. Then trying not to spend your entire paycheck when they do come out. These are on the top of my list, I will probably get all 12.

Hi ScrapTime videos. I'm a little late to the party, but I recently got my Tim Holtz glass media mat and my first batch of oxides, inks, sprays, and mica stains. I'm having a blast with these revolutionary products. I love them all. Tim has been a true art messiah! ;) and I have become a true believer! :)

I'm in Australia and as soon as I heard about these I was checking different online stores to get them. Luckily an Aussie store had just got them in. I went ahead and bought the 12, but when they arrived they had sent the Distress Ink Wilted Violet. I was refunded the ink cost, but they had run out of Oxide stock already, but as Wilted Violet is my fave colour in Distress Ink, it's OK. I ended up buying the Oxide Wilted Violet from a US online store as the Australian store wasn't sure when they would get more stock in. Have played around with them and it's amazing what they'll do, LOVE THEM!!!!!😁
Really excited about this - cant wait to try it! Simon Says has it on Reserve I see - hope its available to International fans as well!

TheInkinGardenSpot So true. I read a “professional organizer” tip list the other day and one of them was to toss out (or donate) any craft supplies you have not used in a year or two. That would be half my supplies! I collect and keep the stuff I know will still be usable when I get round to them, I’m not tossing them out just because I haven’t had opportunity to use them. Non makers just don’t understand

I ORDERED ALL 12 FROM AMAZON. THEY WERE A LITTLE LESS EXPENSIVE THAN ANYWHERE PLUS THEY ARE GETTING THEM A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE OTHERS.
I just went to Amazon, they still don't come in until March, about the same .

Hi Tim! Great class here. My question to you is can I use the on fabrics? Some of my fabrics won't be washed and some will.

Distress Oxide is water based. If you wash it good chance it will wash out. If you aren't going to wash it then try it out.

hi. i want to make unique easy decoration for a baby shower. no pink & blue. the colors will be kiwi & cantalope!!! i want to make signage & something for each table thats not too expensive. i saw this vid & got excited. i have a sixxix machine regular markers. what you suggest? thx.

Are you using the heat setting on the hair dryer, or just cool air? Not sure if heat is important or not.
He was using the Ranger Heat Tool. It is hotter than a hair dryer.

I bought the full set on Saturday at StampFest. Ted Cutts, from Stampers Anonymous, had the product shipped to him at the venue so that he'd have it available to sell. Love this product! BTW, Tedd also showed us the Stamping Platform which will be coming out later this year. He told us his is one of 5 in the country. It pays to be friends with Tim!
I am totally addicted to these! I don't make cards or ornaments or other crafty things with the ink. I use them in creating artwork with acrylic paints and other media.
The problem I'm having and hoping someone can help with, is that the ink bleeds the second it comes into contact with my paint and/or my gel medium. This makes sense, of course, because of how they work. It has ruined a few pieces of art. I'm considering a spray varnish to seal the artwork and keep the ink from running, but I think it may still make a mess.
Has anyone had problems with this? If so how did you resolve it?
I just recently started using distress ink. Can I refill the ink pad with this? I can't find the same ink to refill the pad. Thanks so much for your help.
no - they are 2 different types of ink. The refills are available from Simon Says Stamp, Scrapbook.com and Amazon. Or directly from Ranger.
@@ScrapTimeVideos - Amazon is out of Vintage Photo and says they don't know when or if they will have it back in stock. However, I did find it in a shop on Etsy. Thanks for the other recommendations. I'll keep those in mind as well. Thanks so much for your help and for explaining it!
I am new into distress. So the difference between normal distress or oxide distress is? The color changes more deeply with oxide?
Distress Inks are dye based - so translucent. Distress Oxides are a Dye/Pigment combo - so more opaque. This Saturday Tim Holtz is doing a Facebook live video all about Oxides and answering questions. It starts at 10am PST. Last week was about Distress Ink - the video is still available to watch on his Facebook Page.

Wondering if someone knows if there will be mini oxide pads
They are still releasing the colours in the full pads. As of last January the minis weren't in the works. My guess - and only a guess - is once the full pads are released they will probably make minis but it could still be a couple years away. But I do not have any inside knowledge.
ScrapTimeVideos thank you for answering my question. I read somewhere that they will not be in minis because the ink/dye formula of the oxides doesn't work in the smaller pads because of the way they react and work. We'll see and wait huh? Looks like I have finally to get a few oxides in the big pad... can't wait so long 😁
Can you use Gamsol with either alcohol ink or distress oxide ink ?
Not sure of the effect. Test it out and see what happens.
