I would love to equip one of my guitars with an EMG pickup. But I have no idea how to do that. So in decades of owning guitars I never bought a single EMG pickup. Maybe I'll do some research in the future to find out how to install them into a guitar.

Im a lefty , ive thirsted over the jackson warrior for the last 15 years. I just cant pull the trigger on the 5 grand canadian it will cost me to build and buy it.
In the one with the 3 single coils in HS configutartion, how are the "bridge and middle" pickups wired? I mean if you wanted to get a more humbucker sound, at least with passives, you'd wire them in series, but I don't think that is possible with EMG's, so are wired in parallel and used as a humbucker of sorts or some other wiring thing going on in there?
@emgtv, could you do a video on how to eq EMG pickups??
It's no different than EQing any other pickups. You simply cut all the "bad" frequencies. Dumping out everything below 100hz is a good start (makes room for the Bass), and there are some higher frequencies which will give you trouble. You just have to figure out what they are by boosting them one by one, and cutting the ones that poke out.
You're probably gonna want to cut some of those low-mids as well, but I'd leave the rest of them as-is, personally. Boosting frequencies gives you reduced returns, since it creates noise. Boosting the overall signal isn't bad (to a point), but boosting tiny parts of it too much certainly is. When it comes to boosting frequencies, light adjustments will make *all* the difference. It's much easier to quack-up a guitar signal than it is to make it sound good.
Love the “HET SET” I happen to have the James Hetfield set in my Gibson Les Paul Special Tribute edition humbucker guitar and I absolutely love this guitar. I love the fact that these pickups make a traditional style “old man” style guitar into a heavy metal monster guitar and I am running 52 to 11 set on my guitar and I can play as low as drop C tuning and I absolutely love this guitar with these pickups, my Guitar stays in tune there is no problem there there is no bow in the neck with the thicker strings, I absolutely love this thing, I highly recommend getting these pickups because they are absolutely amazing, I love the bite and the clarity in the punch that these pickups bring to my rig, I’m playing it through a boss ds-1 distortion pedal and a crate practice amp and it sounds fairly decent, but I’m looking to upgrade to a better amplifier soon to match the quality upgrades that were recently installed in my guitar. I can’t help to wave about how great EMG is. I’ve had the privilege of talking to Rob Turner and asking him questions personally over the phone and he’s an incredible human being who is truly understanding. I highly recommend going through them if you want the best quality Guitar electronics. they are my go to and I have no plans of ever switching to a different Guitar pickup company, especially because James Hetfield is my favorite guitarist. I know that he plays an ESP Iron Cross signature guitar but I have seen him on stage point Gibson Les Pauls with the “HET-SET” installed in them and they sounded absolutely amazing with his guitar rig, personally, I recommend them. No further if you want the best, heavy metal tone and sound. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.
