I have a 550 wheel duramax, and a little shooting from the hip, our difference in wheel to weight should put us pretty freaking close, just looking at your speedometer. Lol! I'm not even a bona-fide builder expert to see that, I am just tired of looking at my speedo move at that speed wishing it was more 😭🤣🤣

It honestly depends on what you are wanting to spend. You can piece together your own stuff and make it pretty budget friendly or you can go off the deep end and spend a train car load of money. Figure out your goal and shop around.
I rebuilt my motor in preparation for the turbo. I have seen a lot of stuff on forums where guys throw a turbo on one and don’t have an issue for a long time. Know the limitations of your internals. There is a lot of info on like about general limits. Just because someone ran 600hp on one for years doesn’t mean yours will too. Don’t skimp on a good tuner! That’s the one thing that will make a huge difference.
80lb injectors, walbro 450 fuel pump, vsr 78/76 turbo, 4l80e, circle D 3200 and a tsp stage 3 cam. I should have gone with a better cam. It was running on 93 octane.
I would sway the 4l60 for a 4l80. Yea you can pretty well just put a turbo, injectors and fuel pump on it and go. I ran a TSP sage 3 cam and put all new bearings in the engine and did the trunion upgrade. That’s not a must unless you have some component failure or worn out. If I was to rebuild that truck again starting from stock, I would have skipped the cam I put in and not spent the time porting and polishing the heads. I probably would have skipped the melling oil pump as well and just replaced the bearings (cam bearings were pretty bad) and just slapped the turbo on and swapped transmissions and redone the fuel system. I ran a walbro 450 and deatchwerks 72# injectors.
@@Cochraneracing I ported and polished heads, trunnion upgrade, push rods, arp head bolts, 72lb injectors, pac 1219 springs, ls2 timing chain, melting oil pump, tsp cam, circle d 3200 converter, 4l80e, 3.73 gears with Detroit tru track diff, walbro 450 fuel pump. I ordered a alkycontrol meth kit but haven't installed it yet. Added a mod 2 step since this video and traction bars. Im currently running 14 psi boost.

Turbo, injectors, differential, transmission, fuel pump, all new bearings in the engine, new oil pump, rocker trunion upgrade, ported and polished heads, cam, valve springs, gears, e fans, transcooler. If I had swapped to e85 I could have turned it up a lot more. I was getting detonation on 93 octane at 15 psi. I bought a meth kit but never installed it and then sold the truck. The turbo was good for 1000ph or more.
@@codystevens6533 if it has different sizes tires it's makes it either slower or faster than it actually is in this case I'm say it's a mix of spinning and a off speedometer but I haven't rid in it so I don't know

That boost set up is perfect not to much but not to little. Just perfect
Kinda wish I had went a little smaller on the turbo or a little more gear. I wish it spooled a little faster. Max boost came in around 3500

They were gapped by the 180k miles on the engine lol. I rebuild and replaced everything but the pistons, rings rockers and crank.

It was calibrated correctly. I used hptuners and it was correct with my draggy and at the track.
