#starwars #swtor #sith Cheeky Rivix, he can't keep getting away with it. Guess , this is why he is on the Dark Council. Star Wars The Old Republic Discord - discord.gg/Jjf...
I like Rivix. His obvious lack of trustworthiness is balanced by his undeniable wit and versatility. He’s certainly more useful WITH us than AGAINST us.
@@sekira4516Baras was the one to negotiate the terms after the Sacking of Coruscant which gave the Empire a lot of systems and power be an equal opponent to the Republic. Not exactly little.
I honestly like Rivix as a character, he’s not an average Sith Lord who is overly agressive in a fight. He’s more calculated in his strikes and in his movements. He seems like a user of soresu and Shii cho, while tau idair uses a djem so or juuyo. It’s a nice reverse while Jedi are more defensive fighters and sith are more aggressive fighters.
Tau using Juyo is unlikely (not impossible, but unlikely), as that's a lightsaber form prone to making the user more susceptible to the influence of the Dark Side, as it feeds off of aggression (I believe Maul used Juyo against Obi-Wan on Naboo). Tau using Ataru instead of Juyo is more likely, as while it's still an aggressive lightsaber form, it doesn't have that same "drawback" as Juyo. Juyo was almost exclusively used by Sith & fallen Jedi. A Jedi using Juyo would likely have been very concerning for the Jedi Council unless the user was well-known for being able to resist the lure of the Dark Side, so it was likely a lightsaber form that a would-be practitioner would need the express permission of the Jedi Council as a whole just to learn, let alone use.
Rivix: I am the Hand of the Empire for a reason. It doesn't always need to be a fist. Sometimes all that is required is a finger, even a small one, to outdo what an arm cannot.
The hands of the emperor were always like that, even to the ones you met during Sith Warrior Main Story they never got into a fight, they were more cautious on who, when and how to approach or present themselves...
this is one of the few cutscenes where it is mostly 1 to 1 with both Republic and Empire version of the storyline. The only difference between the two versions is perspective of events and who gets the lightsaber. There is also something going on with Tau Idair on the Republic version of this event because the moment she obtains the lightsaber, she shows to be getting strange headaches but brush it off despite it being constant during the final moment of the cutscene in the Republic version. Rivix does not appear to be getting headaches when he gets the lightsaber in this Empire version of events which does make me question how different will things be playing out later.
Tau gets zapped by Nul’s defense systems in both versions of the cutscene... The only difference in the Pub Side one is that she was able to deflect 2 of the four bolts, hehe, nullifying some of the effects of the trap. She was shaking off the effects of that shocking trap, the headache you described her getting in the Pub version of the cutscene.
Rivix has rapidly become my favorite Sith in the Empire. He's very charismatic & good w/ twisting words to whatever his goals may be for himself or as the Emperors/Empress's Hand. Darth Krovos is another new Dark Councilor I really like. She's also a schemer not quite as good as Rivix, but she's a brilliant tactician, & she cares about her soldiers & subordinates.
Honestly the 5 seats of the Dark Council is at least better in someway . They still think for the Empire in long run rather than individual ambitions. Except for Darth Norok that is. How a brute like him sit on the seat of logistics is definitely in question.
Two things; First, while the Sith were destroyed by the Jedi bc of their infighting Rivik proves that some were able to out play the Jedi and their own order. Second you planning on doing the pub side?
I'm being really admired the weapons that'd being used in the Gear Of Wars where'd being looked liked the heavy machine-gun 5x bigger from the ordinary and equipped with mortar bomb at the lower front with the bomb pumped-launcher also being combined with the sharpen chained-saw for the intermediated faced -off combat fighting.
I just realized that Tau has cybernetics for her right arm and right torso. She barely survived the space station collapse in another planet after battling Xithari, and Malgus at the same time.
Haven't been playing SWTOR after the released Eternal Empire bits, but to me this looks like plot "armor" is the only thing keeping this Jedi alive from a final lightsaber thrust to the back by this Rivix fellow here. Shame that, kills the flow (& the hyping up) of this cutscene for me at least. 😔
The original main story will forever be my favorite swtor content, but I like the game of thrones-esque direction they’re taking a lot of the new characters in. This guy totally will not be a major problem later down the line 🙂
Interesting trap. Yoy basically have to grab it with the force from as far away as possible. Doing too close (aka just geabbing it normally) gets you fried. Only a wise force user can retrieve safely.
They keep giving these NPCs cool armor and removing the lame bits and making them awesome. Darth Norok also had the Fieldtech armor with the backpack antenna bit removed....

he's the Jordi Chin of Star Wars
I won’t lie, that was really smart. Props to the writers where props are due
Rivix personifies the phrase: Fight smarter not harder.
Beware the Sith who appears to be useless. They didn't become Sith by doing nothing.
Unless you are Darth Ravage....
huh.. so he *is* competent. Duly noted.
Well you don’t gain the Darth tittle for being incompetent 😂
@@jamesburrell7382 his name is Darth Baras and yes you can actually XD

@@gamester512I also said Djem so, she favors power hits similar to Anakin.
@@jedimasterren5520 Well, Anakin favored Ataru himself. So that still fits. Anakin actually didn't use Juyo either, he used Ataru.

I knew this fellow was smart but... damn that was simply outstanding.
Most impressive, Darth Rivix.
I love how everyone knows Rivix is untrustworthy but we love Uncle Vowrawn even though Rivix is basically just Uncle Vowrawn at Home.

Tau: "Put it down"
Rivix: "....Of course..." 🙄
Another reason why the Jedi is doomed to fail, she’s one of those reasons mind you
It's even funnier the second time!
3:30 a foolish statement, when dealing with sith. Many vengeful ghosts out there in the tombs of the sith
He’s cautious with the dead... Not fearful.

You can accuse the team of many things, but not of being lazy. They are very resourceful and recycle assets into new designs where they can.
@@Mediados Yes, that is true. I shall still be mildly bitter that I think the npc has a slightly cooler piece of gear than I do.

Poor Lord Sovu :/
Okay, I was kind of indifferent to Rivix, but damn does this cutscene make him look cool! He's so clever here
Where did the Jedi Knight and Sith Inquisitor walkthroughs go?

What mission is this? I’m assuming after the showdown on ruhnuk? Cause I thought I killed that Jedi on correlia

I hate Tau Idair so much, she is supposed to be badass, but all she really is being just bad. And cringe.
