Not only his voice is awesome but also his unbreakable spirit while being interogated... Ok ok maybe I little made up about unbreakable spirit and all but still... Darth Malgus is AWESOME!
Darth Malgus has slowly become something like a predecessor to Darth Bane.At first,I only thought that he wanted to establish an empire of his own, free of any weaknesses and outdated traditions of xenophobia and an empire capable of reaching its full potential that could seriously threaten the Republic. But now it seems like he is just hell bent on tearing everything down.He isn't even concerned with conquering the galaxy anymore now. This time around,Malgus intends to go out with a bang just to prove a statement.
"It's better to burn out, than to fade away." he plans to make his flame burn bright in a final burst of defiance. and once his fire burns out, the shadow will creep back in. Malgus will accomplish nothing.
He's definitely becoming a prelude to the New Sith. He's basically already predicting the fracturing of the Sith Empire, the Republic Dark Age and the era of rampaging Sith Dynasties & Warlords that will follow. An era of war and competition where there isn't a single Sith Empire, but several. No more hypocritical bureaucracy and traditionalism holding the Sith back and keeping them locked in a falsehood of unity while backstabbing each other in the shadows. I'm sure that for Malgus, someone who lived his entire life under the thumb of the Sith Emperor and the Darth Council, such a chaotic state of affairs qualifies as both "freedom" and a method to reforge the galaxy and the Sith. He keeps talking about fire, which I take to mean he wants to put the galaxy through hell to winnow out the weakest and unworthy see who will emerge the strongest. A metaphorical and literal trial by fire that only Darth Bane and Zannah would pass, forming the Rule of Two.
"Eyebrow" Bro hasnt even brows 😭😭😭😭 But granted how he raised his eye was the developer telling us " Hey you wanna join Malgus we will let it happen." I reaaaaallly pray they will do that.
You can actually see his mounth behind that mask when you encounter him on Elom. Quit dialog before battle, walk up to him and move your camera so his face in on your screen, mess aroung a bit with zoom options and there you have it. They gave him a pretty decent face, his mouth is not as damaged as I though it would be.
I chose that final dialogue option as well because really, my Twi'lek Sith Inquisitor would've almost always sided with Malgus *if she had been given the CHANCE* but the game never allowed it. She embraces the idea of a change in the Empire, that it is made stronger by welcoming more non-humans and purebloods into the fold and to reward the military leadership rather than them being disposable fodder for Sith. All of this while being VERY dark side leaning.
As somebody who's coming back to the game after having last played it when Isotope 5 and the Dread Masters were the big deal, I started a couple of new characters to refresh myself on the story before playing anything Revan related and beyond, and as much as I also agree with Malgus and you on these points, I've been surprised to see that some of those changes were already happening, even as far back as your days on Korriban. Darth Baras straight up criticizes the overseers on Korriban for their racism and opposition to allowing more races to become Sith, calling them outdated and a hindrance to the new paradigm in the Empire. He states it as one of the reasons he orders you to kill the overseer. Zash criticizes the overseer as well for his interference and how that directly results in your pure-blooded rival's death, but she has her own reasons for specifically looking for you as an apprentice. Between the Sith Warrior and Inquisitor stories though, the overseers' interference and attempts to oppose the rise of non pure-blood Sith results in the deaths of two promising Sith apprentices and one of the overseers.
Malgus: *How did it feel, knowing your best efforts were for naught? I am the future, Wrath, and you know it.* Wrath: A future doomed to repeat itself. I pity you, Malgus. You could have helped save the galaxy; in the end you only helped ensure its peril. Malgus: *Only time will tell.*
Just because Malgus wants to remove the predominant governments and force-philosophies does not mean he's an anarchist. What is his plan for after he's burned away the past? What will keep reclaimers and *avengers* at bay from the collapse he brings?

I thought this scene was fantastic. Malgus and the Sith Warrior VA's nailed it! Just a shame the following gameplay on Voss didn't live up to the same quality...
Malgus: i don’t need friends. They make you weak. Also Malgus: So uhhh how cool would it be if we were friends eh? The outlander: Yeeaaaah… let’s put a pin on that for next time *leaves*
There's a difference between being someone's friend and being an _ally._ Malgus was scoffing at attachments, believing that they lead to weakness, but having an ally on side who understands his vision and can be useful, but ultimately cast aside should they become inconvenient or no longer useful is something else entirely.
@@Gaelek13 It's why I find the sith so close yet so far to the answer. Like the Jedi, they fear attachment, when that very attachment is what makes you strongest. Having a true connection to another, an understanding beyond allies or tactics, makes you the strongest you could be.
"Can you not see it? the past looms over us all.... a shadow of unchanging history" Malgus reads to me like one of the writers of swtor expressing his genuine anger at the world building of the games, and of sw in general. its always a republic versus empire, always sith versus jedi, to the point where its maddening. i like how he wants to do away with it all, to allow for something new to rise for a change. i like how he's not outright "space puppy kicker" like most other sith in the game. and i like how he's not portrayed as insane because of that but i dont have high hopes on him succeeding, it is Star Wars after all, cant have a story without everything returning to the status quo of jedi vs sith.
Yeah that's the big problem when they did away with class stories like yeah it was still about jedi vs Sith even then but it felt more personal and less grand storyline were actually allowed to conclude and have impact instead of this permanent unchanging story where nothing happens cause your choices don't really matter

@@ricardomarquez7730She fucked us over last time when we tried to persuade Sa'har to help us, she was a liability to the Darth Nul investigation from the beginning, if anything her rage is gonna get us killed along with her
That line, "Nothing lasts forever". Of course the Outlander would know that. Each path had something big set up for them, they even fought to save it... and almost lost it all thanks to the Eternal Empire. Then THEY were the reason the Empire fell, it didn't last, but the Empire itself lead to great change in both sides. And now, Malgus wants to do it all over again. If I still played, I had plans for a Torgruta Sith Warrior, who would've very much agreed. They focus intensely on the hunt and the carnivorous path of the Togruta.
This is why I love taking this path with Malgus in dialogue. Two peerless foes who recognize each other's strength and respect each other despite the fact that objectively speaking Malgus should hate our character more than anybody else.
I think they need to stop making the player a mouthpiece for their characters and make this game an rp game again. As a Sith inq all I'm interested in is helping Malgus, or using him, idk. Acina & Vowrawn aren't interesting, Acina least of all
The Malgus-simping is out of control. By this point a player Sith is far more accomplished and all but guaranteed to be more powerful, with Dark Councillors potentially being oneshotted not just by the player but by companions, and Malgus is still supposed to be a deadly threat?
Malgus was always a treat. He has always been one of the fan favourite characters in SWTOR - he was there in the beginning its only fitting he is here at the end (as it seems to be). A lot of fans wanted him back as he was one of the few strong characters left/could be still alive. Imo he was stronger or on the same level as the strongest dark council member but unlike them he managed to break his chains completely and go against The Emperor as did the Sith Warrior character. As we see now mandalorians managed to be on par with the Sith Warrior , nothing surprises me anymore. Feel like Malgus wil get a massive boost in power from Darth Nul's artifact and we will end up fighting him or maybe forming a third faction if we are lucky
My SW, Darth Onur, Eternal Wrath is pretty much frustrated with all of this story about Darth Nul. Again, and again stupid power-hungry individuals tries to claim ancient power yo use its for pointless destruction. For pointless deaths. Eternal Wrath is now disgusted by the Empire. He sees weak Dark Concuil and it's sickens him to be depending on their support, so his Alliance, little place of peace and harmony could exist. Eternal Wrath may be still using dark side and treasure sith teachings... But he is no longer a Sith. He understands how stupid are both jedi and sith. So Eternal Wrath embraced both, to became balanced in the Force. And only Darth Malgus, among all of the sith in history, shares not the same, but quite close ideas, about the Empire and the Sith. My Eternal Wrath still respects Darth Malgus and he wished what they weren't enemys. They both warriors of honor what understands how much galaxy is corrupt, both the Republic and the Empire. They fells... Like two sides of the same coin. Both came from the Empire, both were greatest of the Sith. One nearly broke the Republic and another destroyed the Emperor. Difference between them not only in understanding and using the Force... But also in their methods. Eternal Wrath have a dream to keep his Alliance safe from corruption. He wants to create, to see how his people prosper. How simple people just have happiness. Malgus meanwhile wishes to destroy corruption. One creates and enspire. Abother destroyes and obliterate.
This further reinforces why Malgus is one of my favourite Sith from this era. The voice acting is absolute quality.
