One of the things I love about this channel is that there are no awkward jumpy cuts in the edit. Other presenters elsewhere seem unable to string a coherent sentence together. Meanwhile Jack just riffs away and then plays any old instrument like the true pro that he is....More please.
He's cool, but only really seemed to be playing with the cutoff with 1 patch cable modultaing.. the cutoff.. lol. Nice, but this thing can do a lot more than that!
Oh Maaaan, thanks for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment Lashtal. Nothing will ever beat Whitney’s rendition at the Super Bowl for me. Take Six’s rendition is mind blowing too if you haven’t checked it out. Anyways, thanks again man X
I think I’m in love. Had one in the 90s. Murder to keep in tune. But Korg are killing it at the moment. I can see this sitting next to my modwave, Wavestate and Opsix. Running my Gretsch through it. Mental. Thank you so much
I'm glad Korg have done this again and at a better price than the previous FS. Nice colours too- the green looks like military surplus. Great demo Jack.
It’s when the Red Bull kicks in!! 🤣 Seriously though guys, thanks so much for taking the time to not only watch but leave a comment too. I wish I had one on the way to me!! All the best to ya X
Oh maaaan, thanks Adamski, you’re being too kind! Thanks for the encouragement mate, it means a lot coming from a a real synth Don who can even build his own synth!! Unreal 😍
Lol, i brit? Who plays the american anthem with more gusto, aplomb and spirit than most of us here can muster... first time i actually enjoyed hearing it since i used to listen to Jimi play it years ago... thanks for keeping the love alive ;)
Channeling Jimmi? I can imagine him going for the frequency tracking too. Good video. It's amazing that analogue monosynths are back in demand. 30 years ago we wouldn't have the time of day for anything that wasn't 1U 19” 32-voice multitimbral (except maybe 2U 19" 32-voice multitimbral). How wrong we were! These days I barely even worry about polyphony 😀
I'm watching this in the morning and all of a sudden I feel like I'm at Woodstock with Jimi Hendrix waking everyone up by playing Star Spangled Banner.
I love the LFO on this synthesizer... I paired it with a Yamaha CS-5 .... it became an LFO session with both synthesizers (KORG ms20 and YAMAHA CS-5) pulsing all through the session...awesome ....you should try out that Jack..
Supper fun version of thE SSB! Well done, I dug it. Also, first, I have seen anyone plug a guitar into one. I loved the way it sounded. That was pretty neet.
Thanks to you Bill for watching long enough to hear it and for the kind comment. Really appreciate it, sending all my best wishes over the pond to you Sir X
Yes, you're right... I also had the mini but always felt that something wasn't quite good as it should. A couple of months ago I went for the FS and there are three notably improved aspects: quality of the knobs (not wobbly), size of the keys of course, and the possibility of starting the unit using the newer filter (which doesn't produce any hiss and it's warmer than the original). It's a great synth, if you really like it, going for the FS version is justified, and I bought it on sale $400 cheaper, which makes it an even better purchase.
A few years back I bought the limited edition full sized kit from Korg. It also had the original filter setting and the newer revision. I don’t seem to see any difference with these new reissues. The only difference is how you switch the filter versions and the auto-off circuit.
Everyone knows what this synth sounds like, the small amount of fx used aren’t an issue. Most are going to do the same thing anyways. The people who would complain have probably heard these 1,000 times already and have quite possibly owned one themselves. Furthermore if they’re the kind of person that’s tracking the filter resonance spikes spectrally or whatever then it doesn’t matter what you do you’ll never please them anyway (doesn’t play gigs but can’t settle for less than a perfect 10 octave range that’ll stay in tune for hours on end). The demo is great, better than basically all the demo’s I see now, which are more like artist promotional material. Thank you for taking the time to put these together!
Great demo Jack - would have loved a fuzz pedal in that effects chain for star spangled banner. MS-20 is surely one of the best mono synths ever made - and a very good choice for beginners wanting to learn synthesis.

@@jackduxbury1632 Jack mate, I watch all of your demos and really enjoy them. I know Andertons are a retailer so can't risk hurting sales, but it would be great if you talked about the quality of the keybeds on these. On that note, how were the keys on this? Better than the Odyssey? (And if you can't say, I understand.)
@@eddyray666 my Man! Thanks for watching mate and for the comment. I’m guilty of not really noticing the action unless it’s either weirdly good or bad. So if I don’t say anything it’s because it’s just fine. So many of the keyboards I try have the same “Fatar” or OEM Keynes that they’re all pretty similar on the Synth side of things. I can’t remember the exact feeling of the Odyssey but I’d hazard a guess it’s exactly the same as the MS-20. Hey I love the mini, never had FS! I’m sure it’s a great experience having it larger and full size keys and quarter inch patch cables if that works for your setup.

Somewhere in the universe, the spirit of Jimi Hendrix said "yep, exactly" to that intro!
I'm blown away by the sound this thing makes.
Aside from Hendrix's version, that is the best version of "The Star Spangled Banner" I ever heard, truly. Beautiful!

favorite ms-20 demo ever. Love when a musician demos a synth. And now I need that blue one...
I've had my MS-20 since 1981 and still play that magic machine. And, I loved running a guitar through the filters.
Watching 3 years later according ytube date and Me Likey! Need this now!
Hrm, I'm not sure. Do the video all over again, but with the green one.

Does the green have flakes? I think its not cool on the blue, those sparkles in the paint
