    Like people have said, beautiful Holden-esque tone. Thank you. I was leaning toward getting an MS-20 mini before, but now I know it's necessary.

      My beginner’s understanding:
      The keyboard gate/trigger is the sample & hold clock source. Each press of a key is a “tick” on the clock.
      The sample & hold module stores the value sent to its input, holding it for as long as each “tick”, sending it to the oscillator.
      This ends up providing a limited “copy” of the keyboard trigger signal to an oscillator independently of what is happening with the other oscillator.
      Anyone got a better explanation? I’m new to this modular stuff.

    Uno strumento veramente ottimo; l'ho provato tempo fa in un negozio a Ferenze; sembra di essere tornato indietro negli anni 70 quando c'era la sperimentazione dei primi synth:-)

    For better results with VCO2 (1m38s), try to use Envelope 1 REV OUT instead of Keyboard TRIG OUT 😉.
    Just remember to set Envelope 1 ATTACK to ~1 and RELEASE to zero.

    • @donartyone3258
      @donartyone3258 Рік тому

      I did this and it behaved audibly the same. Was this just an alternative to the Kb Trig out to get the same result?

    • @in.Synthesis
      @in.Synthesis Рік тому

      @@donartyone3258 In this way you avoid the problem described in the video at 1m38s - 1m50s. You don't have to retrig the keyboard a second time to have the correct pitch of VCO2.

    Neat! Never thought of that use for S&H- I've only used it as a random generator (with noise for the input) or as a means of making a stepped envelope.

    When I tune OSC 1 and 2 to say, middle C, OSC 2 drifts more and more out of tone the further on the keyboard I get from the tuning note, it's a semi-tone or more out on either end of the keys, and it's driving me insane. Anyone have any insight?

    • @georgeparkins777
      @georgeparkins777 2 роки тому

      One thing to check is, have you let it warm up for fifteen minutes? The manual recommends it and while many MS-20's will play in decent tune from the time you turn them on, some really do take that long to achieve full stability.
      Also have you played with the master tune? Perhaps you can strike some kind of compromise between VCO 1's tuning and VCO 2's tuning. All tuning systems are compromises, after all...

    Ciao chiedo a te che mi sembri il più ferrato. Sto provando a usare sq1 come convertitore midi to cv per usare l ms20 in modalità duofonica e funziona. Secondo te c'è una maniera di indirizzare alcune note o range di una masterkeybord esterna al cv1 e altre al cv2? Sq1 lo fa ma mandando in play i propri step, ma io vorrei farlo da una tastiera esterna. Ciaoo

    I'm really curious why the demos I hear of the reissue rev 1 filter have lots of noise triggered on every key press. Your rev 1 original doesn't seem to have that problem.

  • @Botdu84
