- This is an abridged version of the live class about making commands and suggestions. It covers many forms including (으)세요, the 요 form, 라 and (으)라, 주세요, ~해 주세요, (으)십시오, (으)시오, the adverbs 좀 and 조금, (을/ㄹ)래(요), (을/ㄹ)까(요), (으)면 어떨까(요), ~자, (읍/ㅂ)시다, and using the adverb 같이.

I am so upset, I was taught in class the -읍시다 form simply as "let's", that's it, they never mentioned anything else or any context.....😐
I love how my thoughts actually made sense. I thought 주세요 only meant give me something at first . But slowly, as I saw sentences like 해주세요 I was like what what? That doesn't make sense. What are they giving?
These are just my thoughts as I was learning Korean, I'm not actually asking a question. I'm fully aware of what it means now
totally makes sense now When they play the Yaja time and all the maknaes say that form 시다 🤣🤣

You are a linguistic genius and a great teacher. I have been profiting from your videos for a long time and love them all. But… I was very surprised about your comments on avoiding 갑시다. I showed your video to my Korean wife (born and raised in Korea) and she strongly disagreed with you. My Korean friends all agreed; 갑시다 is polite, not awkward at all.
It's used playfully, but it's not a polite form. It would be awkward to say 갑시다 (or other 시다 forms) to someone who's your superior (such as your boss).

6000 TOPIK list, you said you knew all the words, how many words do you think you know? Could you make a rough estimate?
Also do you think with that amount of vocabulary you know you match the vast majority of native speakers or you think you need to learn more vocab ? If so how much ? Cheers.
I know well over 6000, and most people who can speak fluent Korean do as well. But I can't guess exactly because there's no test that could accurately tell me how many I know. Natives would know more words than I do.
@@GoBillyKorean so 6000 is like "fluency but still..." Targeting some like 10K sounds like a benchmark. Weirdly enough I knew you were around to answer, you seem to be a cool dude.
@@TropicalPianist If those aren't just 6000 random words, but 6000 of the most common words, then I think anyone with those words under their belt would also be fluent in Korean (or at least seem to be fluent). But in order to even memorize that many words, you'd also have to be able to use them which requires a lot of grammar too. Still, it's a decent amount. 10k would be very high I think, since that would start including tons of technical vocabulary.
