Little trivia for you: Tom and Jerry are canonically best friends. Tom pretends to chase Jerry around because if Tom refuses, he'll be replaced with a cat that will actually kill Jerry. Yes, they do fight. A LOT. But ultimately they have each other's backs.
when you say canonically, what do you mean? where is this stated/shown? (just curious because I haven't seen every episode but this is a very cute perspective on the show that would be really wholesome if true)
@@beardlessdragon it's a valid question, because it seems like a lot of people don't know this.
So for one, you can see the many times they work together in several episodes, and while Tom does catch Jerry from time to time, but there are lines that even they won't cross for one another. Plus when Tom gets roughed up pretty badly, it's Jerry who comes to his rescue. Even back in the 1940s, when the cartoon first came out, this is true.
Furthermore, there are some interviews of Gene Deitch, the creator of Tom and Jerry, which I recommend checking out. He talks a bit about the relationship between his two characters.

Two things I think could be neat regarding Humerc
1. The description during the design and partially the design itself reminded me a lot of Fern, so perhaps a bit of green could be added (either to the design or the shiny).
And 2. I think it’d be really cool if there was a slight gender variant where the ‘head spikes’ were longer and thinner sorta like Fionna and Cake.

Honestly, given how Mr. Krabs takes some inspiration from Popeye, Lobstrike could work as a Mr. Krabs Pokemon too with a different dex entry. I think Ron inadvertently made two SpongeBob-based Pokemon.

I'd like to think that Sharprey and Predapurr would have a unique little side-effect of fighting together in 2v2 battles. Maybe some kind of additional affect that gives them both a permanent stat boost as long as they're both on the field. Maybe it could be called something like "Common Foe"?
Or just have Predapurr distracting the opponents while Sharprey sneaks up behind them to set up a surprise trap?

Really thought you would give Lobstrike Sap Sipper, but Strong Finish also works as a reference to the spinach.
I remembered how in some Popeye comic, he's wearing a dress and describes himself as "amphibious" (supposed to be "androgynous.") Lobstrike living both in water and on land, making it literally amphibious, is pretty perfect 😁

I think it would be cool if Humerc had a pure fighting preevolution, which had a split evolution into a grass fighting type to reference the grass sword.
I just finished rewatching the entirety of Adventure Time as Fionna and Cake were releasing, including Distant Lands and Fionna and Cake again. I love Humerc. It really does represent Finn well, and I appreciate the inclusion of Jake and BMO elements, since they're his closest family. Excellent as always

The Popeye-based Pokemon was definitely my favorite design wise. Also, you could make a pre-evolution for it based off of Sweet Pea or one of Popeye's nephews.
With the fakemon based on Cartoon characters alone, you have 7 unused types. I will now make a suggestion for each of those types.
Jake Long as a Fire/Dragon type
Danny Phantom as a Ghost/Ice type
Creepie Creature from Growing up Creepie as a Bug type
Static from Static Shock as an Electric type
and Garnet from Steven Universe as a Psychic type
Does it count as cheating if a suggestion works for two types?
It would be very cool to see a part 3 of this, and for a cartoon character that would be interesting to see as Pokemon, my choice would likely be Scooby-Doo since he is my favorite.
I love how you made Tom and Jerry into pokemon, they look fantastic.
And here are some more characters that you can make into pokemon:

I feel the ability Sap Sipper could also work well with Lobstrike as a nod to spinach making him stronger

as a person who is also rewatching adventure time after not finishing it, Humerc is MATHMATICAL!!! the way his face is blue reminds me of ice king, and its a great reference to a certain episode I wont spoil. this is the kind of pokemon i would absolutely have as a friend hes so silly!
Next time, if you do video game characters again, I have couple of suggestions:
1. A humanoid scorpion mon based on Scorpion from Mortal Kombat (Bug/Fire)
2. A ghost-type serpent mon based on Solid Snake with alternate form based on his box (steel type or normal type)
3. A fighting type gorilla based on Donkey Kong
4. An anthropmorphic tree steel/grass mon based on Master Chief
5. A water/psychic type pokemon based on Aliens from Space Invaders
6. A bug/dragon mon based on Atari's Centipede (take some cues from dragon catterpillars)
I really like 5&6 I’d never think those characters would have those types and it just makes sense

I think if he were to make DOnkey it would either be Ground/Fighting or Grass/Fighting (hoping its ground ngl) and give him his COCONUT GUN)

These are all very good. For the Popeye lobster, Sap Sipper would be a great ability, and a fun way to eliminate a weakness. It could even have lore about it eating seaweed/kelp when it runs out of berries on longer voyages across the sea that give it its great strength. Popeye was partially created to get kids to eat their vegetables.
I love the designs, it's really clever how you incorporate the character designs in the pokemon. I would love to see Scooby Doo be turned into a pokemon, I know saying out loud sounds dumb because you could easily make him a generic dog pokemon, but I think you can do something really clever by taking inspiration from his many shows, like Shaggy and Scooby get a clue, in that show Scooby gets powers by eating weird Scooby snacks or you can make another character into a pokemon like Shaggy or velma
They're all so well done, but Predapurr is def my favorite, like I legit would love to have one as a house Poke-pet, that would be my baby
I can definitely see the whole Simpson’s family being one evolutionary line
Hear me out: there’s a shared baby form similar to Maggie, boys evolve into a middle stage similar to Bart and then into hogrin; girls evolve into a state that takes after Lisa and then Marge
The Marge version would definitely have yellow fur or yellow skin in general but with a green pattern that goes from their chest to their legs (referencing Marge's green dress) and have a vibrant blue mane-like hairline (or even look tree-like resembling a willow nymph with blue leaves).
It would be nice if Humerc had gender differences, with female Humerc being based on his canon genderswap Fionna. Especially with the Fionna and Cake spin-off (I really like Fionna's design and character).
Another banger Ron! Lobstrike was for sure my favourite. Love the shapes and colours. I'd love to see either Steven Universe or Gravity Falls characters adapted into pokemon next.

I may be an Oregonian (which would technically put me in the Hogrin camp), but Sharprey and Predapurr are my favorites from the bunch. I do enjoy occasional viewings of "Tom & Jerry" and I enjoy the angel & devil dichotomy you got between the two frenemies. Impressive work.

I would love to see a Phineas and Ferb fakemon as it is my favorite show of all time. I could see it possibly being a steel/psychic type to show their innate understanding of machines and building in general. I'm not sure if they would be one pokemon or two. Possibly a doduo or scovillain situation where they have two heads but work with one body to show how they are one unit even if they have their own thoughts and feelings.
I think Sharprey should have more Sp. Atk than Atk, since Jerry isn't physically that strong (outside of the cartoon logic obviously), but usually beats Tom through trickery and setting traps, etc., which I associate more with something happening sepperate from the body, i.e. special
I think Hogrin is my favorite of this bunch. It feels like the sort of Pokemon that I would take at face value and become amazed when people pointed out the inspiration.
The addition of the animated bit was so enjoyable !!!
Lobstrike could be a fun Pokémon with its hidden ability
Spinach could be a held item specifically for Lobstrike that increases fighting type attack but also gives a leftovers type of self heal. Making him go from a weak pokemon to strong.
I would love to see a Steven universe based pokemon!
Small change I'd suggest on the Tom & Jerry mons... their respective ear notches look more shaped for their own weapons to have caused than for it to be from the other's weapon - Sharprey's ear notch is slimmer, like its tail blade, while Predapurr's ear notch is broader, like its thicker claws. You might wanna swap those two notch proportions to make them seem more like they come from the other mon.
For Lobstrike, you could mention that an easy way to lure it out and befriend it, it's known that it really likes leafy land veggies with strong flavor of any sort. While they collect berries in the wild, they are easily enamored with human-farmed and canned produce due to the wild difference in flavor it has from natural foods.
these are all great designs!! I esp love the Tom and Jerry Pokemon, but they are all really creative ways to translate the characters into the Pokemon world
I was literally hoping just this week to see an Adventure Time fakemon from this series! Glad to know the Fionna and Cake hype has spread here too lol
I'm interested to see what would you think on Invader Zim or Code Lyoko as two somewhat obscure cartoons for the ideas.
I think Lobstrike is one of the best designs from this video, because I feel like Pokemon would actually do it, specifically because of its (subtle) reference

I'm surprised that you didn't lean into a bear aesthetic for Finn. Not that I don't like it, it wasn't what I expected. Also, I know you said you hadn't watched the last 20% of the show, but there is a character you will meet who is the PERFECT shiny color for Finn.

I remember when you posted Hogrin on twitter, I thought we were getting a Pokémon fusions video, but I loved all of the designs from this one!
these look so cool! if you ever want a new theme of what to turn into pokemon, itd be really cool to see you actually turn pokemon characters/trainers into pokemon, like gym leaders and such!
As a lifelong Tom and Jerry fan I absolutely love your take on the duo! The angel and devil theming in particular reminds me a lot of some of their older incarnations, where jokes about heaven and demons were somewhat common. The one big thing I'd love to see is for Sharprey to have some kind of ability that only works while both it and Predapurr are on the field like Dondozo and Tatsugiri. Maybe while they're on the field, attacks aimed at Sharprey hit Predapurr instead, like how Jerry often dodges attacks that end up backfiring on Tom? It could allow for a really unique team dynamic, with Predapurr being a bulky attacker that can sponge hits to keep Sharprey actively throwing out support moves to keep it from fainting.
I would not wanna be hugged by Humerc (Finn). 😂

Can you save all that for horror characters as Pokemon? I mean, since Five Nights at Freddy's has its own movie, I guess that means Trappariton is more of an honorable mention and even not the only one who can attack Pokemon trainers just for fun. The good examples of killer animatronics as Pokemon might include Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, Springtrap, and Golden Freddy
I must say I did not expect you to go that route with Homer Simpson. I expected a very angry fire-type with an explosive temper.

These videos never get any better than this one! I'm honestly inspired by Humerc very much! Maybe you should do something like Wildberry princess next time! :D
- For Tom & Jerry I like how you made them Dark & Fairy which by putting Granbull into the mix can make a reference to Spike, & adding white to Shaprey can be a reference to how sometime Jerry would have white paint on him making him a ghost
- Homer as a pig makes sense & with the poison can be a reference to the Simpson’s Movie & eating the donut on other Hogrin can be a reference to Treehouse of Horror episodes (the one he clones himself & eats himself)
- Popeye protects others which I can see in particular Smoliv’s evolution line as a reference to Olive Oyl
- Finn being steel type makes sense since he at the start always defeats the Ice King
What I like about the Finn and Jake one was that it also kinda looks like B-mo which brings the trio together in one
I love these! And as Pokémon changes and adds new styles I can really see these come together!

I like that the shiny for Predipurr is the color of the cat that Tom competes with to get Jerry in some of the old episodes.
Thats a very Homer pokemon, the personality was very fun, I especially like that you caught his funny, dysfunctional and tender sides. Also Best add. I'm curious about a more cubist style like that of the angry beavers xD.

Honestly Lobstrike could have had Sap Sipper as a Hidden Ability to reference Popeye getting stronger from eating spinach. Like it literally boosts the Attack stat, it would have been perfect!

Popeye transitioned so well! Perfect flow, the arms, the brows and face - and then I disagreed with the last face change. Liked it much much better before. Now it looks derpy. :D

Hogrin would make a perfect ground fairy type since sweet pokemon like alcremie and slurpuff are fairy types. Plus you would be making a mon with an unused type if you put it in your new region.

But also I would love to see a Batman and Robin pokemon pair (perhaps a dark type that shelters and protects a fighting type and influences it into evolving into a dark fighting type based on Nightwing)
