Correct. Bolt could have run most of his races faster than he did, even those in which he broke records.
In this one for example, at the 90m mark, he was already looking over to his left (for some reason), and presumably knowing the race was already won, had stopped running. His lead foot crossed the line at 9,3s. That could easily have been his chest.

A 5 foot 9 Ben Johnson would of destroyed them both. And before you claim Ben cheated, the guy in blue second to Usain here has doped more times than Johnson. The australian cricket ball tamperer cheated and was unbanned, its just that back then the rules were stricter so if you cheated once you were banned for life. Ben Johnson did 9.79 in 1988 on an old track wearing outdated shoes compared to these runners. If you do research youll find the shoes now are 2% faster than the 1988 championship shoes which although are outdated are still faster than the asics you buy from rebel or atheletes now. The newer made tracks of today improve ground contact time by around 0.2-0.3 seconds as proven here www.jstor.org/stable/24955871 On a springy new indoor track at Harvard University runners can run faster than .... on the ground) to his ground-contact time (the time the foot is on the ground) and here ua-cam.com/video/mkt1m_UVR_4/v-deo.html so if Usain Bolt was running on a 2050 track like the runner in the futuristic animatrix (was held in the future) ua-cam.com/video/FZXgYbMWrNc/v-deo.html Usain would maybe have ran 9.27. Also even when Tyson Gay doped, his times werent that much different than his other times, so doping doesn't make a superhuman difference on your time. So technically Ben Johnson would probably have ran a 9.5 flat if he was on the 2009 track with 2009 custom shoes ftw.usatoday.com/2017/08/usain-bolt-retiring-track-world-championships-100-meters-shoes-fastest-man-in-world he would of ran even faster (9.2 seconds) on a 2050 animatrix track and guess what?
Hes only 5 foot 9. He didn't need long strides or height to win.

Dominated the track because at 6'5" his stride length was ridiculous! No other elite sprinter was ever that tall. He's taking about 2-3 lest steps per 100m than the rest of the sprinters. This equals a little more energy/power in the last 30-40m of the race to push him forward while the rest of the field slows down.

Remember following that race it was said 9.58 shouid not have been humanly possible for another 30 years. No guy running today will come close to 9.58. Incredible. Bolt was unreal.

14 years. WL 2023 only set 9.83. long way to go until we can see anyone beat this phenomenal 9.58 WR

Truly a rare athlete. I think people forget the mental side also. Bolt was on another level here. His confidence was off the charts. Just think, if Bolt had gotten a shocker of a start, he still would've won, probably.

And now nothing can hold Usain Bolt back! No! He wins!
    9.58! World record! That's crazy!
Just when you think nothing could top Beijing [2008]. It is toppable! By this man!"

I think that 9.58 100 Meter World Record may not be touched for several more decades, that time is insane and today in 2024, guys are lucky to be running in the 9.8 range lol. Nobody has even come close to running a 9.58, in fact, the closest anyone has come was Bolt himself in 2012 when he ran a 9.63 lol.

@@justinexplainseverything1554 there was an interview with Bolt where he said he believes that no one will break the record. "That's how confident I am!"
It was a short titled 'why Usain Bolt retired early'

@@piiinkDeluxe Oh WOW, that is really cool and right to the point lol. I think Bolt in my opinion, is the greatest athlete of the 21st Century. The man didn't just break World Records, he also won almost every major race that he entered between 2008 and 2016 lol. To me, he was way more dominant than Carl Lewis. To put things in its proper perspective...Carl Lewis competed until he was 35 years old...and won 22 Gold Medals in International competition and 28 Medals in all....Bolt competed until he was 30 and won 23 Gold Medals and 29 total International Medals lol. Bolt actually has the record for most total Medals and most Gold Medals in International competition.
