As a long time Tesla owner (who doesn't live that far from you) I highly recommend getting a level 2 charger installed at your home if you haven't already. For me, efficiency and battery longevity is very important.
The two biggest contributors to battery degradation, especially in the summer time:
1. supercharging regularly
2. consistently draining to sub 20% and/or charging all the way up to 100%. (Best to keep between %20- 80, and if you don't go far, then %30-70 is even better.)
Hey! Haha that's awesome that you're near! Yes, we did get the Tesla Wall Connector charger installed. It didn't arrive and get installed until about 2 weeks after we got the car, but it's so convenient. I never intended to rely only on supercharging because the closest one is about 20 minutes from my house. That is all very useful information and I appreciate it! Battery is set to stay at 80% unless we are going someplace that's a bit of a drive and I haven't let it get below 30% yet. Very good to know about sub 20% too! I appreciate it!

Do kids fit well in the back? Been contemplating getting one….
I can't say for sure as we do not have children yet, but I would say carseats would be good no problem and there is room for adults to sit in the back comfortably. However, we originally did test drive a 7 seat option and it was soooo tight back there I wouldn't recommend that at all. Best thing is to just test drive one and see. That's pretty much what we did that tipped us to the point of purchasing it!

Hey ya’ll I’m so elated I found your page. I’m from N Ky but live in Greater Cincinnati, I’m researching to buy my first Tesla and when I found y’all’s video about coming down to Blue Ash location I yelped lol. Please pretty please make a follow up video for us Midwest folks who have Snow and live in this area with repairs, maintenance dealing with the local company etc. I would greatly appreciate it. Because I can’t find a lot in the area with the super chargers how in the community personally. How Tesla Gang is, you know. Hopefully I make sense. Danggit how is a Tesla in our area with the our seasons, the people at the repairs shop for any maintenance. And while locally out how are the super chargers around the Tri States. Ohio Indy Virginia Illinois Tennessee. Thank you for making this video it eased me for the Tesla Carvana process.
How much this model costed you (final cost on road), please?
This is very important! Anyone buying a 2024 Model Y needs to check for door gaps because I had to take mine back in to get them fixed. And driver side mirror malfunction caused wind, noise inside cabin wish they had to replace the mirror assembly other than that it’s been great. Hope you are enjoying your new ride. That's very good to know! I tried to take a look when I got it but I did notice wind noise right out of the gate from the drivers side. Tesla came out and identified the issue but I still need to take it in to the dealer. So far that's it. I appreciate it and thank you for watching the video!

Congratulations! Here in the UK most Tesla drivers seem to have a Tesla as a company car (tax benefits) and as such seem to see the car as an appliance! So makes a change to see a new owner to be really excited about getting a new car...
Ohh no kidding!? We saw a lot of them when we were in London and not many in The Cotswolds last year, but never knew that! Well that's nice of you to say for real. We are very happy with the purchase. We still have a Toyota 4Runner - I don't know if we can fully switch to EV, but for a vehicle for local trips this is so much fun and so happy to have it!
With express pickup technically anyone can pick up the tesla?

Congrats!! Just picked my new model y up 3 days ago and yes, the process (we have a Tesla in the town we live in) was super easy. We traded our Toyota Prius Prime in with Tesla and that process was seamless - they gave us a very competitive trade-in price - which I heard could go either way with Tesla. We have been learning about it and driving it a lot and it is so fun (my husband loves the sentry feature where you can make the car fart when someone is standing by it 🤦🏻♀️ - he says it’s a guy thing 😂).

I have 2019 Toyota Camry with 65k miles. Caravana’s offer is pretty low. 😅 I’m looking to get new Model 3 or wait for the new Model Y.
No kidding!? So honestly, my initial Carvana price was ALOT lower, but I just kept getting emails every 7 days and eventually was like ok it's go time lol. I started that process back in November and wasn't until January it was good enough for me. Yes the new Model 3 is sooo nice, but I've just loved the hatch look

we also picked out Tesla Y on 13th Feb this year, a week ago. So far, it's good, the driver door though needs to be shut with some pressure, if we do it normally then it sends a notification that the door is still open. Its already past 42 hours, so not sure whom to report or just wait to see if its user error
Oh really!? We do have a wind noise on the interstate and Tesla came out know where the issue is coming from but I had to schedule taking it to the service center, which I haven't gone yet. So far *knocks on wood* there hasn't been anything else I've found yet.

First off congrats! While we loved the Camry I don’t really miss it! We still have a gas car so maybe that’s part of it but it’s seriously such a nice and fun trade off! You’ll have to let me know what you think when you get it!?
So far, I LOVE it!! Still getting use to it but it’s much fun to drive. My Rav is still in the driveway for now. Trying to talk hubby into trading in his Avalon for a Tesla 🤣

Sold my car on Shift which since went out of business. Gave me a much better deal than my Toyota dealership. I wonder what car dealerships will evolve into if they lose the profit off of used cars and also the maintenance on ICE vehicles. Congratulations on the Longe Range Y. Oh no kidding? Yea I tried to do the KBB Instant Cash Offer and I had like 6 dealers call me and they were ALL 3-5k under what Carvana was offering. Thank you though! Haha yeah here in Ohio I've always had to pump my own gas so it's pretty much all I know unless we're traveling. Yeah winters can be pretty cold and windy here but just makes you appreciate the 3-4 months of warm weather lol

Thanks for the tips, taking delivery (everything same except 7 seat interiror).I saw you chose 20 inch wheels. How is the range based on your experience?
Awesome and that’s exciting! Truthfully the furthest we went was about 200 miles round trip and I charged to 100% for that trip and got back with 33%. I usually charge once a week and it’s perfect for us. Anytime we do a long trip we take our 4Runner but so far range hasn’t been an issue. I will say when we got it it was sooo cold out and I was nervous to take it too far but it was brand new and this winter I’ll be more apt to take it places
I can tell you, buying a Tesla from a state that doesn't allow sales, has more than a few issues. Tesla has to change their sales model

I get that for sure. For us though, it’s just been a car we've been wanting for a while, and I couldn't find any concrete information about the new Model Y refresh release. The pricing was too good to pass up.
Tesla has already stated that the refresh is NOT being released this year. Great purchase!

The model Y refresh isn't until Q1 of 2025, he did good buying this.

Just got a new Model Y Dual Motor Long Range. Tesla really is the only way to go electric for now. Other brands can't compete. The drive, the power, the real range and the comfort while driving is second to none.

@@michaelandabbey Sure did. Model Y Long Range AWD since I live in New England. Wish I lived somewhere I could've saved a bit and got the rear wheel drive instead, also gaining a little more range and with the same towing capacity. Better safe than sorry though with how crazy our snow storms can be.
@@isstrip1002 Yeah I hear ya there! We are in Ohio so definitely needed the AWD just in case and also we live about an hour and 20 from Cincinnati and Columbus so if we ever want to go there it allows us to go on a charge without having to stop! Also LOVE New England!

@@pantloaded I do hear ya about the mpg and handling for sure. I did wait until the 2020 model for CarPlay and Toyota Sense at least though so it's not tooo bad in our opinion haha. Taking it on 1,000+ mile road trips is brutal on the wallet though haha

Congrats! Picked up my 2024 Model Y Long Range on Saturday and LOVE it! Got it from Pittsburgh and it ended up being ready a few days early. Just went with the 19" Gemini wheels (immediately took the hub caps off lol) and a tow hitch for hauling bikes.

That's awesome Pittsburgh is a fun city (even though I'm a Browns fan). Dude I wanted the tow hitch, but since we still have our 4Runner it wasn't a big deal but hauling bikes was the exact reason I wanted it too
@@michaelandabbey Oh I'm actually from West Virginia, and Cleveland is rad - so I'm with you. haha I have a 1UP USA rack and having a tow hitch is a MUST for me anymore. I'm too lazy for roof racks. lol The last thing I want to do after a ride is lift it above my head. haha Those Induction wheels look so good. I might have to get a cheap set of hub caps that look like them just so I won't go buy a used set. lol

I used to hava GTI and had the roof racks with the bike trays and I'm just over doing that 🤣 Thanks man I love them - that was the one thing I for sure wanted to match our other vehicle lol. Excellent video and very timely as my wife and I are considering a 2024 Tesla Model Y long-range! I haven't had the chance to look at one in person yet, so I am wondering about the space in the back with the seats folded down. I have two large dogs that go everywhere with us and I would like to see if there is room for them. However, I am striking out finding any information or videos of folks with the same car and large pets. The nearest Tesla dealer to us is over two hours away.
Thank you so much! I know we have a Golden and he hasn't ridden in the back yet because I haven't gotten the rear rubber mats yet. He still rides in our 4Runner though haha. I would say with the seats folded down for reference he'd be just fine in there. He's about 85lb. for reference.
@@michaelandabbey Thanks for the quick response! We have two New Foundland's and both are 125+ pounds. Fortunately, they have traveled quite a bit with us and stay laying down pretty much 100% of the trips. Looking forward to more of your adventures!

Did you have to pay 500 for charging cable that wasnt included
Yes, I did. They installed it about two weeks after I got the car. We only had to supercharge twice in the meantime, which was nice.
@@michaelandabbey$500 for install and the charger or just the charger? I thought the mobile charger was $240?
@@chags3512so the 240 cable I think is the one that allows you to plug into a normal wall plug in. The wall connector charger is 475 and an electrician has to come out and install that one. It’s hard wired into the garage
@@MichaelLess ah gotcha. Yeah I had a NEMA 6-50 outlet installed in my garage and the mobile charger used to come with the car (that’s the one you can take with you and you can buy different outlet adapters for). That one is $240 now

Congratulations !! You can’t go wrong with the prices of the Model Y’s. They are built much better now coming out of Austin Texas. Yours should have the HW4 & better suspension. Was that the new stealth grey color or the old metallic silver? Your going to do a lot of modification videos 😂 drive safe ⚡️

Facelift is not coming this year! So yeah! Let them enjoy man!
Maybe to some, but honestly I'm enjoying it a lot and I'm new to Tesla so I personally love the look of this Model Y and for the price it was the best option for us.
