I've never tested it personally, but my understanding is that Follow Through puts a debuff on the enemy, so damage from others is supposed to be increased as well, which could be pretty powerful assuming it works.
Yes, that's how it's supposed to work. A two person team, one running Follow Through and the other running Taking One for the Team would do big damage against bosses.
Thanks for testing! I was going to pick this perk but I ended up selecting Master Infiltrator for quality of life. I'm level 96 so this will definitely be my next Legendary Perk soon. I'll be able to make it 2 star out the gate so hope to see results. Cheers!
Thank you for the video, very informative! I have a NON-PA, all special stat increasing cards, build and run a 10/1/8/4/15/9/9 starting stats. With the legendary Special Perk cards my endgame stats start at 15/6/13/4/15/14/14. This enables me to run pretty much all non-PA dmg mitigation cards from Str, End, Agi, Luck. My weapons are Heavy Grenade, Auto Handmade, Auto Fixer, Cold shoulder and I can tank a insane amount of damage while dealing out good damage. My problem and question to you is I really feel I should be doing more damage with this bloodied build while maintaining my tankiness, but I'm not good enough to know where/how/what cards/points to replace/move. Can you do a comparison guide of a "Tanking High DPS Bloodied Non-PA build wit lots of carry weight"? I use it to farm, so I need to be able to loot and scoot without needing to equip a PA or not pick up loot. With food buffs in a full group my carry weight is 560 and without weight reducing cards my real weight shoots up over 1k. Thanks for the consideration!
With automatic weapons, if I kill in 3 shots or less in a split second, Follow Through often doesn't have enough time to kick in. But if my attacks are interrupted, such as when I run out of AP, have to reload, get staggered, or the enemy gets out of VATS range, etc., then ironically Follow Through will have time to kick in. So I keep FT as a sort of insurance. If I fight an enemy that I can't finish right off, have to reload or whatever, I know I will get +40% damage in the next 10 seconds, which is plenty of time for an automatic, or any gun with high fire rate.
Hi, great video. I’m really needing a vintage water cooler as I’m moving my camp to whitespring as I hate enemy spawns when in my camp. I need a water supply and that’s the only way I know how to get one without a natural water supply nearby. There doesn’t seem to be plans anywhere. Any advice? 🙏
Great vid but are the damage numbers popping up in your scope accurate? The first 2 kills without the perk were showing 50 damage. The next kills with the perk were 44 damage 1st shot and then 78 per hit. I'm not sure how they're applying the 40% but that almost 80% more damage or you could say you're getting 56% of original damage added on. Either way it's a lot more than 40%.
My suspicion is the range as he mentioned during the Super Mutant phase. Closer seemingly results in more damage (can't say always, not nearly as salty as Wiggle). That of course makes me wonder what they define as "Ranged Sneak" are they lumping ALL non-melee attacks under "ranged" here? Not quite as clear as the Sneak portion assuming our assumption of staying in Caution not Danger counts as Sneak (which it appears to be in his testing).
Another thing to consider is enemy resistance. The higher your damage, the more of their resistance you'll penetrate. This will also contribute to higher numbers.
Nice! Wondered how to test which 2nd legendary star is best -- 25% faster fire rate or 50% more Crit damage. Emmett Mountain might be just the place to run the test.
The problem with testing those effects at Emmitt Mountain is that the enemies aren't hostile, so you can't use VATS. They won't turn hostile until the health is almost gone.
YOU could stick and perk it with the FURIOUS legendary ... the sht thing about this game is we don't get to keep our legendary modules or learn them... that's what you really need to help tune and tweak a weapon and perk cards to each individuals play style
you didnt test the main thing about this perk. Do you have to be always in stealth for it to work ? Because if thats the case then this perk becomes useless in big boss fights.
I just started this game 4 days ago and I really like this legendary perk because I use it with tenderizer and adrenaline. I mostly use a sniper rifle and my first shots are usually headshots. What I like to do is headshot 1 enemy (around 50% damage) and the second shot kills them activating adrenaline perk on my next target and repeat. Another strategy I like to do is headshot a big enemy from a distance then rush in with a shotgun. Pretty effective for my play style.
That was informative but why weren't you doing headshots? I have a lvl 250+ character and another that's almost 500. I have a new character I've been pushing and bumped him 77 lvl's in about two weeks just doing all the beginner stuff. Head shots give me the most bang for the buck so to speak. I personally like a semi-auto handmade. I carry two one scoped, the other not to save AP. With follow through and head shots most enemies drop with three shots. I'm also a sneak/stealth build which can be fun. Could you run a comparison test going for the head? I see too many people that favor the spray and pray, but that can get expensive real fast.
When I play, I do headshots as well because it does the most damage. I used body shots in the video because I wanted consistent results. It's a bigger target and I could hit every shot. Not something I could guarantee if I was going for the head every time. Plus, UA-cam probably wouldn't be all the thrilled with a video full of exploding heads.
@@wiggle_plays Point taken on your video. After being on UA-cam for so long though, I think exploding heads are one of their lesser evils. Thanks again for the video.
@@wiggle_plays Ol thx for answering. I think i've heared this from others too like even Angry Turtle mentioned it a couple of weeks ago in a video that some legendary perks doesnt work probarly. But maybe i missunderstood that. I'll keep my eyes on it
That would be good. The effect does work for anyone else attacking the enemy though. So, if I shoot Earle with a sneak ranged attack, your chainsaw would also do more damage on him for 10 seconds. The ideal combo is one person on a team have this perk and the other have taking one for the team. They can stack for big damage.
Card is “okay” in beginning game but honestly I don’t think anyone doing a sneak build should invest in this card. You can go the whole game without it and still kill every enemy in the game fast. Saving a couple bullets honestly isn’t worth the legendary card slot and 300 perk coins 🙏🏾 So overall DO NOT get this card, instead max out “take one for the team” for the damage boost in public events since sneak doesn’t work whatsoever.
@@wiggle_plays Thanks, I figured it would but started second guessing myself after I saw you only testing outside of vats. Wouldn’t want to waste one of those precious legendary perk slots for nothing. Wish we could get more slots, tbh.
So does this completely not work during Scorchbeast Queen fights since she will be aggro'd to other players that are firing loud weapons? If this shit doesn't work if other players are in [DANGER] then there is legitimately zero fucking purpose for this "legendary" perk i spent an enormous amount of perk coins upgrading...

Great vid with very helpful info. My only bugbear with is the fact that it has to be level 5 which is a neck of a lot of work points to get there

Glad I just maxed it out to pair with my bloodied FFR handmade and bloodied fixer.

hey I have never played a commando build, I am wondering if there is any reason you used a handmade over the fixer?
Mainly because I wasn't using vats for the test. Handmade has less recoil. I use both the handmade and Fixer on that character.

There are water purifiers that can be built on the ground and don't require a body of water.
@@wiggle_plays Thank you, I didn't know that, I'm still a newbie to 76 :)
Now does the legendary card replace the regular one or do they stack (sneak damage)
They stack.

The reason I was relying on bullet count is that the numbers aren't necessarily reliable. I'm also using Tenderizer, which stacks with Follow Through.
@@wiggle_plays thanks, I got it, along with the help of your commenters.....and of course I shoulda figgered that out 😁

Very nice comparison video.
amazing rolls on that handmade
Yes.
Do you find with laggy servers and faster fire rate that Follow Through doesn't kick in?
Sometimes. One of the reasons I usually prefer other stars instead of faster fire rate.

Ah, nuts. I tried using Westek, but the variety of levels and types make the analysis difficult.
It certainly does.

My biggest question is if this perk does anything when you're at events and power armor allies are all over
Exactly my question as well. If not, Bethesda needs to refund us our wasted perk coins.

No. Only furious refreshes when you change targets.
@@wiggle_plays so if I switch from Earl to wendigo ,follow through will not work on Earl again ?

You should also have removed tenderizer!
You can see the dmg starts at 44 and then 50 for every following shot.
I removed anything that would give inconsistent results, like Adrenaline and Mr Sandman. Tenderizer gives consistent results so I left it in.

can anyone confirm if follow through works even if your teammates are being aggrod?
Its not good cuz it's additive damage, stacked with all damage perks it's like 10% Or less and isn't worth the slot over pure stats( special )
