Question: What if you were christened as a young child, should you be baptize when you become an adult, and how does God forgive all the years you may have sin, after being christened as a young child?
One of the challenges the RC church has is that it can never be wrong about anything. So whatever the official church teaching is, Catholic apologists have to say they agree with it. That's a real bummer when in fact they probably in reality agree with some things and disagree with others. Rock and a hard place...

Thank you so much for explaining baptism .. Can please explain about the theological meaning behind infant baptism and adult baptism .. difference between baptism by pouring of water and immersion baptism .. God bless you
Not able to explain anything as well as Dr. Pitre, but concerning infant baptism, Sacred Scripture says to baptize whole families, and doesn't give any age restrictions. Now, in Jewish culture at the time, 13 was recognized as the age of accountability (which translates into the modern bar mitzvah), so the culture was familiar with the notion of 13-year-olds having more sense than infants. But no age restriction on baptism, which for Christian Jews was seen as a replacement for circumcision anyway. Concerning pouring three times versus immersion, the Didache from around the turn of the first century was a Church document that says either is valid. That's the earliest document we know of where the issue is addressed, but presumably not when the practice begun. The Didache is kind of the first catechism; a manual of 'how to' as opposed to the kind of document that breaks new ground.

I have a theory .....In Acts 10:48 Peter should have never baptized the gentiles in water, they were saved by the Baptism of the Holy Spirit .. for that mistake God had to choose Paul to go to the gentiles Galatians 2:14 When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you FORCED Gentiles to follow Jewish customs? Peter.. FORCED GENTILES TO OLD JEWISH CUSTOM CEREMONIAL WASH, " Mitzvah "
I'm scared my Catholic baptism wont work because they don't immerge people in water. They just put the tiniest bit of water on your head and that's not like immersion. Doed that little bit work compared to be dunked in a pool of water? Why did the Catholic church start doing that rather than pitting people completely under water?
Even the early church did not oblige for full immersion, sprinkling on the head was practiced too, full immersion is just the preferred way in the early church
But what if we continue to sin and die to sin without ever going back will Christ forgive us or will he send us to Hell for not having done right even if we could do right but just didn't do it because life wasn't easy?
No one but Jesus can answer that question for any specific individual. Let the Judge judge; just know that His capability to forgive is greater than our capability to sin, so be sure to request forgiveness. But also have faith and hope that via prayer and the sacraments our hearts can be healed long before we leave this temporal world.
Whatever the sin is, take it to Confession (the Sacrament of Reconciliation) as often as you need to---don't give up, keep going to confession until you break free! Also invoke the Blessed Mother to help you, her prayers are very powerful on our behalf. Last of all, trust in Jesus' love for you....there is no sin He will not forgive (read Sr. Faustina's book on "The Divine Mercy of Jesus" which outlines how much He loves all of us. God bless and don't give up!

Catholics please please read the word of God, listen attentively at Mass to the readings and be a participator at Mass and not a passive of observer. Please!!!
My understanding:- After baptism, I am supposed to be resurrected in Christ (in heaven, in God, etc..). However the fact/reality is I am still in this existence, this reality. So that would mean that this existence is where God is. The change, transformation or resurrection is the knowledge ( and acknowledgement ) of this so that I stop searching for God elsewhere and everywhere else - lest I miss Him even when He is standing in front of me. Question: If God is this existence, why are there so much sufferings? My answer: God did not create sufferings. We suffer because we choose against the will of God and keep doing so.
We need to get Rebaptized in the name of J E S U S. C H R I S T. AND NOT REPEATING WHAT OUR LORD SAID WE NEED TO BAPTIZED BY FULL IMMERSION U DON'T SPRINKLE DEAD BODIES.
One must not forget what John the Baptist preached ..... JOHN said for I baptized with water but the ONE coming after me will BAPTIZE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT it's the Baptism of the Holy Spirit That has saving power...
To me, a baby is the most beautiful and purest individual. He-she has not been corrupted in any way. How can the catholic church say that it was born with an original sin and then tell us that in order to erase that sin, the baby must be baptized? I get it... once baptized, it’s as if the church can now say that he-she belongs to us and we will brainwash him-her... and that is exactly what happens. Fortunately, many baptized individuals are able to see what’s been done and they liberate themselves... by leaving the religion. Look around... the churches are empty...
There are consequences for the ancestors of Adam and Eve. Their original sin echos for eternity for mankind. This is where the sins of the forefathers comes into play as well. When we sin it doesn't just affect us, it affects those around us and on occasion future generations. The doctrine of original sin is that “in” Adam all have sinned. This parallels the doctrine of justification that “in” Christ all are righteous. The sin of Adam’s was not your ordinary sin. This was a sin that affected all mankind forever. This sin changed the course of human history. It did not just affect Adam personally; it also affected his human nature-which means it affected our nature, since we inherited it from him. Adam and Eve were created with immortal bodies. They knew no suffering, they knew no disease, they knew no death until they sinned.
So what really happened is that Peter, Paul and a few other guys were watching Mary Magdalene and her friends take their weekly baths in the river. After they left they saw Jesus and John up river and they were playing some kind of naked dunking game. So Peter says, "Hey, what are you guys doing?" Jesus and John were caught off guard so John says, "Oh... um.... I'm dunking Jesus in the river like that story we heard in school about Achilles. You know, make him immortal." So the guys kinda say, "Oh, ok, whatever." As they are walking away Peter says, "Those two are always playing grab ass somewhere while the rest of us men are spying on the ladies." Then Paul says, "That John guy is Batshit Crazy, and now he's playing some naked dunking game with Jesus. I mean.... not that there's anything wrong with that." So from then on they referred to John as "John the Batshit". Move ahead a few centuries, several different language translations of the story, and "Batshit" became "Baptist". So basically, baptism is based on a couple of naked gay guys dunking each other in a river.
Baptism without receiving of the Holy Spirit is without power. Paul baptized only the the name Jesus Christ as Peter taught. Baptism in the catholic trinity us inadequate. It does not guarantee the Holy Spirit. Emmersion is also required, catholic sprinkling falls well short. Beware the leaven of the catholic church. Jesus said we must be born again of water and of the Spirit to reach The Kingdom of Heaven.
There is absolutely no salvation for anyone outside the Catholic Church. Membership strictly by a water baptism or a baptism of blood. Baptism of desire.. Explicit or implicit.. Is a heretical teaching since Trent. One needs to be a baptized Catholic at time of death.. To be hoped to be saved.
The criminal on the cross who died next to Jesus was baptized by his intent. He didn’t go to the cross for Jesus. He didn’t come down from cross to be baptized by water before death. He received heaven by baptism of intent.
What I can infer from your statement is that since the council of Trent, the Church started teaching error. Or God cannot save someone that wants to be saved because he did not take the official rites of baptism. Look at these arguments: 1. Salvation comes from the grace of God via faith in Christ 2. Sacraments are the visible signs of the (invisible) grace of God. 3. The Church offers salvation to the world through the Sacraments (because the grace of God is in the package). 4. But God saves by pouring out His grace on the world. He is not bounded by the Sacraments to do this action. Read Acts 10 for more details: And Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I perceive that God shows no partiality, While Peter was still saying this, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. Acts 10:34, 44 RSV-CI That said, if a person is not ignorant that baptism saves and fails to acknowledge, desire or even partake in this sacrament. Then he has a lot to answer for at judgement. Baptism by desire is kind of a grey area because it has to do with the hidden intention of the heart and not the outward action. And God knows the heart better than we could.
Catholics do not baptize in the name of Jesus Chrisr as did Paul and Peter and every one of Jesus's disciples. Without both the propper baptism in water AND the baptism of The Holy Spirit as Jesus taught, there is no Kingdom of God awaiting you.

Just like the creed says we believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins you can only be baptized once if it’s valid.

I have a theory .....In Acts 10:48 Peter should have never baptized the gentiles in water, they were saved by the Baptism of the Holy Spirit ..
for that mistake God had to choose Paul to go to the gentiles
Galatians 2:14
When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you FORCED Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?
Peter.. FORCED GENTILES TO OLD JEWISH CUSTOM CEREMONIAL WASH, " Mitzvah "
John paul yes, I think your right.

2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad
@@sherrywhite1517 this is so true it was when I started to pray the rosary that, I go a true insight, about all that I have done that really was offensive to God, before I never gave it much thought, no wonder our Blessed Mother appears all over the world asking us to pray, its more powerful than we think
Catholics please please read the word of God, listen attentively at Mass to the readings and be a participator at Mass and not a passive of observer. Please!!!

Baptism of Water
Was nothing if
Not accepting Jesus
So that next of it is
Baptism of Holy Spirit
Is more powerful
Because it is from GOD
My understanding:-
After baptism, I am supposed to be resurrected in Christ (in heaven, in God, etc..).
JOHN said for I baptized with water but the ONE coming after me will
BAPTIZE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
it's the Baptism of the Holy Spirit That has saving power...
No one in the entire New Testament was baptized the way catholics conduct their baptisms. They never even baptize in the name of Jesus
Jesus was baptized when he was a grown man. Something that I just noticed as I was reading the bible.
Baptism is based on a fictional story in Genesis.
Pouring water and repeating words does nothing.
It's make believe.
I do not believe in the fairytale of Adam and Eve...
No one force you to believe...the truth always reveal itself!
@ Charles Smith, I urge you to listen within and let truth lead you home. Stop resisting.
Simon Armoush this post isn’t scriptural nor is it what the Magisterium actually teaches
The criminal on the cross who died next to Jesus was baptized by his intent. He didn’t go to the cross for Jesus. He didn’t come down from cross to be baptized by water before death. He received heaven by baptism of intent.
@neil, you do not understand
What I can infer from your statement is that since the council of Trent, the Church started teaching error. Or God cannot save someone that wants to be saved because he did not take the official rites of baptism. Look at these arguments:
1. Salvation comes from the grace of God via faith in Christ
2. Sacraments are the visible signs of the (invisible) grace of God.
3. The Church offers salvation to the world through the Sacraments (because the grace of God is in the package).
4. But God saves by pouring out His grace on the world. He is not bounded by the Sacraments to do this action. Read Acts 10 for more details:
And Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I perceive that God shows no partiality, While Peter was still saying this, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word.
Acts 10:34, 44 RSV-CI
That said, if a person is not ignorant that baptism saves and fails to acknowledge, desire or even partake in this sacrament. Then he has a lot to answer for at judgement. Baptism by desire is kind of a grey area because it has to do with the hidden intention of the heart and not the outward action. And God knows the heart better than we could.
@@tony1685 Your gate of hell will NEVER prevail against the Catholic Church.
Catholics do not baptize in the name of Jesus Chrisr as did Paul and Peter and every one of Jesus's disciples. Without both the propper baptism in water AND the baptism of The Holy Spirit as Jesus taught, there is no Kingdom of God awaiting you.
