@@alexchristopher221 If you can study Dr. Pitre's new book with your Calvinist friend, "Paul, a new covenant Jew," you won't have to convince him, he will convince himself. It is about the largest group of theologians in the Protestant/non-denominational world over the last 40 years, called the "New perspective on Paul" that is redefining Protestant beliefs and getting closer and closer to becoming Catholics and it is the justification that Martin Luther and Calvin said the reformed church would live or die on; and it is this new movement and Dr. Pitre's book with this group that is going to do it. It goes through all the top Protestant theologians' thoughts on the matter and how they are seeing the light.

Nicely done Dr. Pitre. The subject of free will and predestination is difficult and I cannot on this short comment do it justice. Briefly, God has predestined groups, i.e. the evil ones to a specific punishment, and the righteous and holy ones to a reward. Like when having guests for dinner, the host has predestined that each person will be served a glass of wine, he does not predestine what molecules of wine is put into each glass; likewise, God gives each person the choice of heart but not the choice of what is chosen between. If while out I see a wallet full of money on the ground -- that is not my choice, (I cannot do anything about the wallet being in my path) but it is my choice if I keep the money or turn the wallet into lost and found (at a store, police, etc.) This kind is the choice of heart. That is my choice which God does not interfere with, and such choices affect salvation. How God works to fulfill his will may be seen by examining what happened to Solomon's son when God had told Jeroboam (?) that God would remove part of Israel from their reign. (1 Ki 12:13-16 ASV) This shows that God does not simply foreknow the future, but instead actively makes it come about by his will and power! Humans thus have free will but this is very limited (Ecc 9:11 Darby ... but time and chance happeneth to them all.) Also, we don't choose most things in life, if born normal, invalid, in poor or rich country, male or female, and so much more.
This is a fair attempt at interpreting Romans 8, but I am not convinced whether the transformation to the image of the Son is talking about a present reality that we already experience, or a future hope that will take place at the resurrection. So much of Romans 8 is about the new creation we are looking forward to, waiting for in anticipation (the hope), that I find it hard to pin down the predestination part as something we already see manifest. I wish at least it would be looked at as a predestination that is only partially fulfilled in the present, with a huge piece awaiting a future day, the day of the Lord. The adoption to sonship, for instance, looks like an already in verse 15, but like a not yet in verse 23. The glory is future in verse 21, but is it future or past in verse 23? I'd like to have NT Wright's take on that.
Thanks for that. Very clear. But one question. If God predestines those who he knows will be justified what is the point of those who are not carrying on living and then presumable going to hell when they die, whatever hell is?
I didn't get it. So, just some are called, justified, transformed, and then saved? Where does free will stand here? Is it not the case that we all shall be saved?
This is indeed great and sound. However, I wonder where the supplementary catholic doctrines are coming from. Doctrines like devotion to Mary through which people get salvation. Things like people who practice true devotion to Mary will be redeemed by Mary though the find themselves in purgatory. These doctrines contradict what you just thought here. Thank you and I will be looking forward to your feedback
12:12 - In that case, what happens to those who are not predestined to salvation? How does their destiny unfold?? Since they are not chosen for salvation, does that indirectly mean they will go to hell?? 12:20 - Since without grace we cannot do anything, how do those not chosen to be given the grace save themselves from hell??? I'm a catholic, genuinely interested to understand this topic, on which until recently I wasn't aware that there was also a catholic stand.
Calvinists believe in double predestination (some to Heaven, others to Hell). We Catholics believe in just one way of predestination: everyone is predestined to Heaven. For example, God knows I'm going to be tempted but He'll give me either the grace to resist or to repent and grow in holiness. I can take this grace or not, and so I can reject the plan traced for me. "But the Pharisees and scholars of the law, who were not baptized by him, rejected the plan of God for themselves.)" (Lk 7,30). As God foresees our choices, He can make a plan to call us to Himself and give us the means to do so. That's why everyone is given all the grace needed to at least be saved, even an indigenous girl in a lost island with no Christianity. And so, whoever ends up in hell is because he rejected that grace, the plan of the Good Shepherd who comes after us and try to rescue us until the end.
@@giovannimartini6405 thank you Giovanni. But that's not what Dr. Pitre said. He said that God decided whom to give grace. He has chosen whom He will give grace - that is predestination.
@@anagha216 Uhm... yes, He's free to do that or don't do it, but as we're all predestined to Heaven, He does that with for everyone. I can choose to give a gift to all the commenters in this video, I'm not forced to do it, I have the "power" to decide who has it. But if I decide to gift it to every single person, then I freely chose it. Also, I think an important part is whom and when He gives grace to everyone. For example, He may want to harden my heart for this week and then give me grace afterwards, it's a cool way to teach us our weaknesses. Or maybe He wants to give me more grace right on my deathbed and not a year before.
@@giovannimartini6405 a beautiful response indeed. But it's still not addressing predestination which is where God holds back His grace from some so that they are NOT ABLE to choose salvation and in absence of His grace the only ability they are left with is to reject. They are incapable of saying yes. That to me seems like favouritism on God's part
@@anagha216 God offers his grace to everyone, there is no one who dies without it. He just knows when and how provide it to everyone as part of his plan. For example, during certain time I struggled with a sin and I tried to supere it out of sheer willpower. The most I tried willpower, the most easily I failed. I felt discouraged, until I understood I was being semipelagian. Then I abandoned myself to God and things started going much better. I think He retained grace from me in that ocasion as part of a plan to show me our dependence to Him. That's not favoritism.
I got confused. Then, I read the comments and I am wondering what I have missed. I need to watch it again. I really struggle with the idea that God chooses people beforehand and only then let them (the chosen) make their choice.
It's such a complex topic. God knows what we will do with our free will. Without His Grace we have no chance whatsoever to get to heaven. With His Grace we can triumph...but only if we cooperate with it. We can reject God and His Grace. If we do, we are on a trajectory towards Hell again. Ultimately, God knows where each of us will end up. But no one in Hell can truly say God willed them there. Make sense? Probably not hahaha I did my limited best.
These are some key things to remember when dealing with reconciling predestination and human free will. Most of these are obvious and well known by you, but they should be outlined anyway for clarity. 1. God is omniscient (all knowing), omnibenevolent (all loving) & omnipresent (ever present) and these together explain His eternal nature. 2. God’s omnipresence applies not only spatially but also temporally (we do not say “God was the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob”, but rather He “IS the God of ...”). Interestingly, this also works better with the modern understanding in science of space and time being unified and referred to as spacetime. In older theological and philosophical writings space and time are distinguished from each other and time is described as the measure of change in and between spatial entities or the alteration of spiritual entities who are part of creation (angels that only have one temporal moment simultaneous to their creation and souls in purgatory). 3. God’s ever presence does not mean that He is present IN all spacetime, but that all spacetime is contained “WITHIN” Him eternally. For us space is spread out over vastness and time is a long sequency of events. For God space is infinitely less than a speck and time is infinitely less than an instant; everything is simultaneous to God. Creation is eternally enveloped and sustained by Him. If God “stopped sustaining” creation it would not just cease to exist, it would have NEVER existed. Note that I put “stopped sustaining” in quotes because these are words used from our temporal perspective. 4. We perceive things as happening sequentially in time; we (individually and collectively) had a past, have a present, and anticipate a future. God on the other hand does not perceive (perception is spatial and temporal). God just knows and His knowledge is not sequential (was, is, will be), His knowledge just IS. 5. We refer to God’s eternal knowledge of the future as foreknowledge because from our temporal perspective, these events have not yet happened in time (the future does not yet even exist for us). But for God his eternal knowledge is also His eternal decree because He is not only omniscient, He is also omnipotent and omnipresent. For God (what we call the future) ALREADY EXISTS. His creation IS to Him in its entirety, it is complete, He is already present there (or rather it is already present in Him - see #3). 6. Since God is omnibenevolent humans must have free will or else God’s temporal intervention (revelation of the law, expectations of moral behavior, salvation history -- especially the Incarnation) would all be absurd, and absurdity would violate His nature (see #1). For God, what already exists to Him regarding those events that “occurred” due to the choices of those in His creation who He “caused” to have the ability to make choices, “were” caused by the free will He “incorporated” into their nature. For God the choices “have already been” made, but they “were” real choices truly freely chosen, even if for us, not yet accomplished. I put the past and future tense words in quotes because from our perspective past events must have past tense and future events have to have future tense but for God there is only present tense. This is the best way I can explain how free will is preserved even in the absoluteness of predestination and the finality of creation. In short, to deny predestination is to deny God’s omnipotence and omnipresence. To deny free will is to deny God’s omnibenevolence. Most heresies in this matter deny one or the other (predestination or free will) due to the refusal to allow that most mysteries of our faith involve paradox. Some heresies in this matter are not due to a denial of one or the other, but due to weird ways to reconcile them that involves screwing up the proper understanding of some other doctrine(s). Read these articles in the New Advent Online Catholic Encyclopedia. Fee Will: www.newadvent.org/cathen/06259a.htm Predestination: www.newadvent.org/cathen/12378a.htm Something that is also interesting is how the development of our understanding of spacetime in science (especially Einstein’s theory of relativity) provides a glimmer of insight into understanding Eternity. Check out this excellent video explaining general relativity. ua-cam.com/video/ZfR1Jc6Zglo/v-deo.html The most significant thing demonstrated in this is that simultaneity is not absolute and arguably cannot even exist in spacetime. Abstracting this to Eternity, everything is simultaneous to God who transcends spacetime.
I come from both traditions. My reading of Paul is that God declares us righteous through the imputed righteousness of Christ, and then we are forgiven and clean. Next in the resurrection we are placed in Christ (Romans Chapter 6 etc.) and Christ in dwells us through the Holy Spirit. Therefore righteousness is imparted to us (Christ in us Himself). Therefore we both have imputed righteousness and imparted righteousness. I have found we are talking past each other so often. Like when the Orthodox Christians say the Holy Spirit is sent by the Father and the scriptures also say Christ sends the Holy Spirit. I agree with you that over reliance on the either/or instead of the both/ands trips us up often.
How does the Catholic understanding of freewill and predestination tie in with the parable of the wedding banquet where the invites don't make it but the outcasts make it.
Jesus was illustrating here the fact that God would extend the gift of His grace to the Gentiles, once the Chosen People had rejected His Son. This would be a very hard thing indeed for God's Chosen People to accept! However we know that some Jews did (and still do today) accept Jesus. That's just BTW. Catholics see that both the guests and the outcasts are invited. Key word. They are not summoned. It's up to them to decide whether or not they'll attend the wedding feast. Jesus doesn't say "God knew they wouldn't come because He had hardened their hearts, so He invited others instead." All have a choice. God reaches out to everyone and everyone has a chance to enjoy eternal life with Him if they so desire. This is the good news. I hope this helps. God bless.
@@annettea4334 many thanks. I find it a little difficult to interpret Many are called but few are chosen. With St Paul saying those whom he called he made righteous. I understand the truth behind it that predestination and free will work hand in hand, but if you read St Paul's words by itself it is a little confusing.
Scary stuff if you don't distinguish between conditional and absolute predestination. And know that God earnestly wishes the salvation of all men. There's a section on the meaning of Predestination [election] and its opposite Reprobation [non-election] in the reference manual for clergy, "Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma," pages 244-245 (1952) by Ludwig Ott. Because of length, the quote below only deals with Reprobation, but it's preceded by one on Predestination (election) in Ott's manual. (pages 242-243). Available online for free. Also note that the doctrine is "de Fide" [carved in stone]: "§ 13. THE MYSTERY OF REPROBATION 1. CONCEPT AND REALITY OF REPROBATION: By Reprobation is understood the eternal Resolve of God's Will to exclude certain rational creatures from eternal bliss. While God, by His grace, positively co-operates in the supernatural merits, which lead to beatification, He merely permits sin, which leads to eternal damnation. Regarding the content of the resolve of Reprobation, a distinction is made between positive and negative Reprobation, according as the Divine resolve of Reprobation has for its object condemnation to the eternal punishment of hell, or exclusion from the Beatific Vision. Having regard to the reason for Reprobation, a distinction is made between 'conditioned' and 'unconditioned' (absolute) Reprobation, insofar as the Divine resolve of Reprobation is dependent on, or independent of the prevision of future demerits. GOD, BY AN ETERNAL RESOLVE OF HIS WILL, PREDESTINES CERTAIN MEN, ON ACCOUNT OF THEIR FORESEEN SINS TO ETERNAL REJECTION (De /fide.) The reality of Reprobation is not formally defined, but it is the general teaching of the Church. The Synod of Valence (855) teaches: fatemur praedestinationcm impiorum ad mortem (D 322). It is declared in Mt. 25, 41 : Depart from me ye cursed into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels," and by Rom. 9, 22: "Vessels of wrath, fitted for destruction." 2. POSITIVE REPROBATION: a) Heretical Predestinationism exists in various forms! (the Southern Gallic priest Lucidus in the 5th century; the monk Gottschalk in the 9th century, according to reports of his opponents, which, however, find no confirmation in his recently re-discovered writings; Wycliffe, Huss, and especially Calvin), teaches a positive predetermination to sin, and an unconditional Predestination to the eternal punishment of hell, that is, without consideration of future demerits. This was rejected as false doctrine by the Particular Synods of Orange (D 200), Quiercy and Valence (D 316.322) and by the Council of Trent (D 827). Unconditioned positive reprobation leads to a denial of the universality of the Divine Desire for salvation, and of the Redemption, and contradicts the Justice and Holiness of God as well as the freedom of man. b) According to the teaching of the Church, there is a conditioned positive reprobation, that is, it occurs with consideration of foreseen future demerits (post et propter praevisa demerita). The conditional nature of Positive Reprobation is demanded by the generality of the Divine Resolve of salvation. This excludes God's desiring in advance the damnation of certain men (cf I Tim. 2, 4; Ez. 33, II ; 2 Peter 3, 9). St. Augustine teaches: "God is good, God is just. He can save a person without good works, because He is good; but He cannot condemn anyone without evil works, because He is just" (Contra Jul. III 18, 35). 3. NEGATIVE REPROBATION: In the question of Reprobation, the Thomist view favors not an absolute, but only a negative Reprobation. This is conceived by most Thomists as non-election to eternal bliss (non-electio), together with the Divine resolve to permit some rational creatures to fall into sin, and thus by their own guilt to lose eternal salvation. In contrast to the absolute Positive Reprobation of the Predestinarians, Thomists insist on the universality of the Divine Resolve of Salvation and Redemption, the allocation of sufficient graces to the reprobate, and the freedom of man's will. However, it is difficult to find an intrinsic concordance between unconditioned non-election and the universality of the Divine Resolve of salvation. In practice, the unconditioned negative Reprobation of the Thomists INVOLVES THE SAME RESULT the same result as the unconditioned positive Reprobation of the heretical Predestinarians, since outside Heaven and Hell there is no third final state. 4. PROPERTIES OF REPROBATION: Like the Resolve of Predestination the Divine Resolve of Reprobation is immutable but, without special revelation, its incidence is unknown to men."
This is how I see predestination and freewill:- God did not predestine WWIII. We have the freewill to decide whether WWIII will happen. However God has predestined all the consequences of our decisions - we cannot blame God for that. In short, God has predestined the consequences of our decision but not our choices. Choose wisely. To me, the ability to choose is what make us saintly.
I hope this is theologically correct, because that's the best explanation I've ever read! It explains how predestination is separate from double predestination.
You just described the fulfilment of the new covenant in Jeremiah 31:33 at the end there brother where Yah puts His spirit inside us to change our heart to obey him out of love and therefore be conformed to the image and likeness of Messiah. Then the passage is fulfilled “let us make man in our image and likeness”.
I've always appreciated these videos, but in this, one could get the idea that Luther's adage, 'simul justus et peccator' means that Protestants don't believe in transformation because simul justus et peccator. This is not the case at all. We truly do. We also believe that justification requires it. What we don't believe is that justification is itself the required transformation. The process of transformation is sanctification. The problem is that Protestants make a distinction which is not shared by Catholics, who include sanctification within justification. We would draw attention to the fact that, being as precise as possible, Catholics also believe simul justus et peccator: even if one should not, as Protestants do, distinguish (but not separate) justification and sanctification, the fact is that even in justification as Catholics understand it we are not completely without sin, hence, even in the inner transformation being worked in us by the Holy Spirit we are still sinful. Yet, we are still in Christ, simul justus et peccator. In claiming simul justus et peccator Luther was looking at Man from two different perspectives, and he was correct to do so: even while being justified (as Catholics understand it) we are sinners; we sin.
Luther's beliefs don't reflect on all protestants when theres about 30,000+ denominations. theres bound to be varying beliefs in most different denominations, but it's a characteristic of protestantism (it comes under 'protestantism' as a category while not under orthodox or catholic)
@@elsamascarenhas9327 Firstly, 30K is an exaggeration. Secondly, they affirm the same basic set of theological doctrines, demonstrated by detailed comparison with their confessions (in much the way that the various orders in the Roman fold all affirm the CCC). Thirdly, my explanation above does not assume that all of Luther's beliefs reflect on all protestants. My explanation was of 'simul justus et peccator', which is, of necessity, held by all protestants, and, as I also explained, is also held (though not in the precise terms) by Catholics.
Hello all, important message for salvation: In 1 corinthians 14:11, Paul said "If, then, I do not know the meaning of someone’s language, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and he is a foreigner to me." and it's the same thing for God, because The VERY IMPORTANT thing in Christ for us to produce good fruit according to the spirit of God is to first understand his language, because God has a specific language in his Word (the Bible). And if we don't know this God's language, we are foreigners to him. To have the thought of God, we have to let the scriptures translate the scriptures, we Don't have to think by ourselves, This is the only right way. I give you an example: The simple phrase "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son" In our human thoughts we understand "God loves everyone, the whole planet", however, God hates sin and bible says "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world" (1 john 2:15). But if we give the explanation letting the scriptures translate the scriptures it's clearer: In Matthew 13:38 Jesus said " The field is the world" In 1 corinthians 3:9 Paul told the disciples "you are God’s field" We understand here that world God so loved is his disciples, that he has chosen and known in advance in order to become vases of blessing (romans 8:29) That's why Paul said "the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world" (galatians 6:14), because all the disciples of Christ are crucified with Christ "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me" (galatians 2:20). Disciples=the world loved by God. And in this field, in this disciple world, you have the good disciples, the wheat. But the false disciples (false apostle, false pastor…) have been sowned by the enemy while the night. Only the wheat, the good disciples, disciples who respect the will of God have Holy Spirit, and Eternal Life. The others walk by their own thought, human thought, while believing worship the Lord. Now, if we keep in our mind that God loves everyone, the whole planet, and if we repeat this human thought to other people, we become liars and false witnesses to God because we don't tell the thought of God but our personal thought. See, it's very simple, letting the Word translate the Word to have God thought. God spoke this specific language by his prophets, it's the language of similitudes. "I have also spoken unto the prophets, and I have multiplied visions; and by the ministry of the prophets have I used similitudes" (hosea 12:10). And he used this langage by the disciples too. However, the whole Bible was written by the prophets and disciples and is written in similitudes. It is therefore to be translated. That's why Paul ask preachers to reveal mysteries of Christ (1 corinthians 4:1). To know God's language is to know God and to be known by him. "The revelation of your words brings light and gives understanding to the inexperienced." (psalm 119:130), and having understanding is having life: "Give me understanding, and I will live." (psalm 119:144). God bless you all!
I wonder if Martin Luther had the duterocanonical books of the Old Testament removed from the bible, particularly the book of "Sirach" because of his teaching of the bondage of the the will?
Judas gave in to SATAN and his flesh was so weak that He was easy to do sin and never confess it.. Jesus knew everything what was in the man's heart and Mind...if it is willing to change or not.. As it happens to Ananaias and Saphira their willingness are not full and their true wickedness are intentionally against the Holy spirit.. They lied infront of A Man but they use to lied more to the Holy Spirit.. This is how holy spirit revealed to me for me to share.. God bless
It's like the farmer sowing the seeds of wheat in his field then the evil one comes and sows seeds of weeds in the farmer's field. God already knows who belongs to Him this isn't apparent until both the wheat and weeds start to grow together as it's apparent by the choices we make during the time we are given in this world which freewill is about going along with God's Will. In the end the wheat is separated from the weed and the weeds are thrown into the fire.
There are some people who judge God as unfair, because although he already knows that some people will go to hell, he still creates them too. Is that right? The answer is: God has given enough grace to all humans to be saved. The Apostle Paul taught that God willed, "that all men to be saved and to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the truth." (1 Tim 2: 4). Likewise, the Apostle Peter taught that God "desires that no one perishes, but that all turn and repent." (2 Pet. 3: 9). St. Augustine said thus, "God who created you without you cannot save you without you" (Sermon 169, 11,13). With this principle, the Catholic Church does not teach that from the very beginning God has actively or taken the initiative to send some people to hell, and some others to Heaven, as known as "double predestination", which is commonly believed by a number of non-Catholic Christian denominations . Now it depends on the human side, whether he wants to receive the grace of God by believing in Christ, and carry out all his commandments, or not.
In the last sentence you talk about it being upon humans whether they want to receive grace... At 12:20 the good doctor says God chooses whom He will give grace. Since without God's grace we can do nothing on our own, how do those not chosen to be given the grace save themselves from hell???
@@anagha216 I totally agree with Dr. Pitre that God chooses those who will receive His grace. they are not chosen for God's grace because their freewill reject that grace
@@biblestoryforchildrenbyrj1967 that response did not clear any of my doubts And how can they reject grace when they are not given the grace to say yes... Those who are chosen for grace are given the grace to respond positively to God. If those who reject were also given that grace, wouldn't even they accept God's mercy???
@@anagha216 The principle that must be upheld is: all who sin are from us, and all that is good is from God. With this principle, God will never actively make us sin. On the one hand, God is actively trying to save us from sin, either by actual grace or by habitual grace, which we receive when we are baptized. We must believe that the grace given by God is sufficient (cf. 2 Cor 12: 9). So, if we reject God's grace, then it is our fault. God's grace works in various ways. When we sin, the servant's grace will try to bring us to repentance. When we struggle in holiness, the help grace also gives us the strength to continue to struggle in holiness, so that there is an increase in our spiritual life. We also must not forget the grace we receive through the sacraments. Hopefully this information can help.
@@biblestoryforchildrenbyrj1967 thank you for that patient response, although what you've written is exactly what I always believed without the complication of predestination... I don't think what you have written has anything to do with predestination.
You've brilliantly established the right balance between God's pre-determination and our God given right to determine our own destiny. God's free gift of abundant grace and the gracious gift of Jesus Christ result in justification and salvation How can salvation be a totally free gift when the gospel urges us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling? (Philippians 2:12b) One thing many of us have always misunderstood: the free gift is first and foremost God's abundant GRACE which he lavished upon us resulting in justification and salvation through the redemption in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as an expiation, through faith, by his blood, to prove his righteousness because of the forgiveness of sins previously committed (Romans 3:24-26 justified freely by his grace, Romans 5:17b God's gift of abundant grace and of the gift of justification). Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God. Romans 5:15 But the gift is not like the transgression. For if by that one person's transgression the many died, how much more did the grace of God and the gracious gift of the one person Jesus Christ overflow for the many. Romans 5:20-21The law entered in so that transgression might increase but, where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through justification for eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. In some sense it seems to me that justification is subordinate/subject to grace, in other words justification is not perfectly equal to grace. Please note that St Paul didn't say to the Galatians that they had lost their salvation but he declared to them that they had fallen from grace and had been severed from Christ. God's free gift of abundant grace can be freely received or denied.
Not a "free gift" the word Free is not there in this letter You must merit this by turning to GOD through the Catholic Church and eliminating sins This is the only way to get Grace, which come from the HOLY GHOST within your Soul No sinner gets any grace, as this would mean that JESUS did not need to die for our sins Please read the full letter of Romans for proper context
I think in the Catholic catechism it says that God is the primary cause and we are the secondary cause. God chooses us and we freely choose God. I think the reason that people have a hard time reconciling our freedom of choice with God's sovereign will is because of the division between us and God in our awareness. It is a mystery but in a very real and actual way God is our very being. We are one with God as one and the same on a very deep level and yet at the exact same time we are not God. It isn't hard for me to accept that God is sovereign and the creator of everything and is directing history to its ultimate perfection according to His sovereign will. We are actually nothing while God is absolutely everything. The very fact that we choose God and seek Him out is God working in us. I think people that are lost and living in sin have an absence of God in their lives. From God's perspective there is no sin and those outside of His will don't even exist to Him. That's why he says depart from me I never knew you to those who are perishing. Only those that have been known by God can know God because it is God who chooses to reveal Himself to them and it is in that revealing of Himself to us that transforms us. Like Jesus says, if we keep his commandments we will know the truth and the truth will set us free. And as St. Paul says for us to work out our salvation because it is God working in us. It is all the mystery of God.
Fascinatingly insightful discourse by Dr.Pitre...to the point of creating the evolution of a complete correlation between Justification 'n Transformation: Wow!!!
Dr. Pitre, your theology is correct, but I have a correction for you, the Eastern Orthodox accept the book of Sirach in their biblical Canon, not just Catholics.
@@diegofuentes6639 The eastern orthodox are outside the church. FILIOQUE.... Google it. One true CHURCH not many true churches. There is only "ONE TRUTH" ONE ARK OF SALVATION ONE HOLY AND APOSTOLIC CATHOLIC CHURCH. VATICAN II CERTAINLY DESTROYED THAT.
Calvin’s understanding of Predestination was not meant to provoke the horrible image of God, rather he showed in his understanding, if God does not intervene in our lives, nobody can save be saved. I think though I greatly admire Dr Pitre, whenever the topic of Doctrines come with Protestants, he has misunderstandings on it. I think this kind of misunderstanding comes because we do not really listen to what the opponents really say. And moreover, we do not read their books as much as those who agree with us. and moreover, do not read Calvin on this alone, read Augustine on what he says on Predestination.
We are all predestined to be grace. We are given advance intelligence. We are given the rights of free will. Our free will decide us to choose towards the grace or not. God judge human based on our knowledge. Luke 12:35-48. This is what i get but im suck at explaining😅
To be honest, for a moment here you lost me. Are you implying Calvin got it right on predestination?. If am predestined to eternal damnation can my freewill change that?.
That’s the opposite of what Dr. Pitre argues for. Go to minute 12:00. “God predestines no one to Hell, but he does predestine to salvation”. God wills that all men be saved, and He gives us the grace necessary. God does have foreknowledge or everything, including those who will be saved and those who will not, but that foreknowledge also sees our free will and how we cooperated (or not) with His grace.
Here's is what happens: God choses the best possible reality to happen that would result in most people to know God or to come to a position where their free will to be seeker or to not be a seeker would be revealed from the heart, and then God gives the Grace even if that man does not get to know God. God's Grace give the persons with the inner faith, salvation, and because God constitutes this best possible reality so that the maximum number of possible people can know God at least a small bit, this is called predestination, and why is there JUSTIFICATION? Because God knows our hearts, He knows if we would believe or rejected if we knew Him. So, He can Justify not us, but what our free will would chose, and if we don't chose God in any of those possibilities because our heart doesn't want God, then we are judged. God's Grace shines through all who would accept it. But regardless of that, because He constitutes the best possible reality, so, predestination, free will, grace etc. all of it exists. It may be hard to understand because this is so complex, but I understand it somewhat
God bless you! Bible study every day. Thank you! We are bound to be related for my father’s mother was a Pitre. Her mother married into the other Pitre family. Double cousins everywhere!!😊✝️
Jesus had already changed the priesthood in the New Testament (Hebrews 7:12-15). Jesus now is our only one priest after the Order of Milchesedec (Hebrews 7:17).
I don’t know of a single Protestant who would deny that a change takes place in the believer after conversion. Not sure why he brought this up as if it is alien to Protestant theology.
Alex. The protestant reformers colaberated to form Vatican II destroyed all that was sacred in the mass and God's holy church. The smoke of satan is in the church claimed Pope John the 6th. This current POPE is a public heretic.
Um, no, that's not why. For crying out loud, non-Calvinistic Protestants don't have Sirach, either. And don't think they need it in order to argue against the Calvinistic view.
@@noxvenit Both Luther and Calvin denied free will. Their denial was the foundation of their Biblical doctrine of grace. Arminianism was a liberal theological movement that began early in the 17th century in reaction to Calvin's teaching which asserted the compatibility of God's sovereignty and man's free will.

Free will is not a joke" is free will "you have mostly a lifetime to choose and every time to do right so by doing that your helping yourself ...but if you constantly play loose ,Luke warm in practice or live for yourself ,than you place yourself were you wanted to be that's for all humans . Many things come in play only God knows
Hello I'm sorry to say this is the first of your video's that I disagree with. It's God's foreknowledge of our actions in the start of this verse . God predestined our adoption as Son's of God so as to be brethren of Christ ,Christ being the first . St Ambrose say's "Wherefore the Apostle says Whom he did foreknow,he also did predestinate. He did not predestinate them before he knew them, but he did predestinate the reward of those who's merit's he foreknew" Gratia et Pax.
If the Hebrew God Yahweh is all powerful, all knowing, and has a Divine Plan set in motion then your future is already determined. Keep in mind that the illusion of free will is part of the Divine Plan. Example: Before God created me He planned on sending me to Hell to suffer and burn forever and ever because of his unconditional love for me.
Predestination together with free will? No problem. In my theory God knows your future BY AN OBSERVATION OF IT. In other terms the God's eyes are able to see in his future, He is able to "travel in time". I hope He has the power to do so. You are therefore free to do what you like, God knows what you will do because HE HAS ALREADY OBSERVED YOUR FUTURE ACTIONS. You thus have FREE WILL, your future actions are not known by God by means of a "COMPUTATION" (no free will in this case), they are rather known by "OBSERVATION", where YOU give God the information regarding your own future. For example - for the God's eyes only - God writes down the number "7" : it will be your next FREE WILL choice. How is this possible? Simply God was able to time traveling in the future, observe your next pick, come back to the earlier time and write it down. As long as that God's knowledge remains for his eyes only, your free will choice remains UNAFFECTED by a God's prediction, that is, it remains a free will choice.
@@djo-dji6018 Of course, "to see" is a verb, "predestination" is a noun. It's not clear what you mean...I explained above how it is possible that God knows your future actions, yet you are free to do whatever you like.
@@claudiozanella256 That's nothing to do with grammar. You tried to reconcile predestination and free will, but your argument is incorrect. God's knowledge of the future is not predestination.
Paul is utterly and completely wrong to say that , Just and Holy God has at birth destined some to eternal salvation and some to eternal damnation. In that case there is no need for faith in Jesus or Sacraments. Paul should have been a disciple of Allah, who swears by predestination. In the last judgement, Jesus says only about good works . Bu Paul contradicts Jesus by saying , good works are of no use. This statement of Paul is Satanic and must be condemned. Many of Paul's much quoted statements are not from Holy Spirit, but words of Greek Philosophers.
This letter to the Romans is the source of so much distress in the world, not because of Paul, but because of rampant misuse of his words, which came from the HOLY GHOST HIMSELF Calvin and the like purposely mistranslate this message pertaining to "works' as meaning Paul is talking about "good works" not being required for salvation, which is ridiculous-and has led to the horrible condition of the Church in the world today, and the loss of so many Souls, and entire countries, to the lies of Protestantism (predestination being a main one) If some are predestined for salvation then this lessens the responsibility we ALL have in this relationship with GOD; and this leads to Souls giving up the fight before they ever start fighting at all. If we do not do violence to ourselves, we will not make the KINGDOM of GOD (MATTHEW 11:12) There are rampant mistranslations in Protestant bibles, especially concerning THIS LETTER, for reasons that are fairly obvious such as "FREE GIFT" Romans 5 and 6----when there is no mention of FREE at all in the Greek text In the Protestant Bible I am currently stuck using, and it is for the most part good, this mistranslation is included to lead souls astray, and to mislead Souls away from the message Paul is actually giving. "Works" pertains to the Old Law, and "Grace" pertains to the New Law. The Old was external in a way, being enforced on you; by fear and the New is internal in the Soul. The Old was fear of punishment, and the New is about LOVE and Life in the Soul. "Free gift" would imply that we do not need to do anything to receive this gift, and this is a lie. We need to merit this gift, or we will be damned, whether we are Chosen or not. There is no "elect" who is saved by GOD despite being a sinner. Please read the parable of the ten virgins which states this clearly Anybody who does not have their lamp lit will be shut out, virgin or not. (Matthew 25) There are no favorites to GOD, as this would make HIM unjust. If your lamp is lit, you go to Heaven, and if it is dark, you go to Hell. There are Chosen people like Moses, and these servants will be subjected to a harsher judgment than the other "Chosen people". "Those who are given much in trust, more will be expected." LUKE 12:48 it is always best to stay with JESUS, even when comparing HIM to Saint Paul. Saint Paul is confusing to many Souls, and it takes a lot of Grace to understand him, and pagans do not have any Grace yet. We need to read the entire letter to keep proper context, and people do not seem to be able to do this. If Saint Paul died with his lamp our, he would go to Hell. Make no mistake about that. But Paul was so intense about his Faith, that we know this is not likely to happen. And he was martyred as well for his faith, so he was put the the test as far as he could be. NO SINNER GETS ANY GRACE, as Aquinas apparently taught, this is a HERESY Grace comes from doing the work we need to live with the SPIRIT within our Soul, and sin is what makes the HOLY GHOST leave, so no sinner can attain HIM, while living in sin. As Paul mentions in the letter, the "Builders" (Jews) have rejected the STONE, and it has become the cornerstone" (MATTHEW 21:12) and so the Jews are even more condemned than a gentile would be because: "He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and on whomever it will fall, it will crush him." (MATTHEW 21; 44) and Matthew 21:43 “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit." So JESUS is saying they are no longer the Chosen People in a sense, as they did not accept HIM as the CHRIST, the fulfillment of the Mosaic Law and all the Prophets. "Unless you believe that I AM HE, you will die in your sins." JOHN 8:24 So really, there are no Chosen people per se, or LELECT, but only those who CHOOSE GOD with the Free Will that GOD gave us ("GOD wants nobody lost" 2 PETER 3:9) Romans 9:18 "Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden." Did GOD harden the hearts of the Jews more than a typical pagan man? Yes. This is because they were given the gift of Truth, and then when they rejected it, there are very intense SPIRITUAL curses that will come with this rejection. "Your house will be left to you desolate" MATTHEW 23:38 GOD does this automatically to all sinners, but even more to those who know the TRUTH Today we see this in the "parable of the return of the unclean spirits", when we learn the Truth and go back to our pagan ways, we become the house of more vicious demons than any of our pagan predecessors were. ((Matthew 12:44) If you choose Satan as your master, after JESUS is sent to die for our sins; you open your door to the most vicious demons, and we clearly see this is true today. So being a "Chosen Man" whether the Jews back then or Roman Catholic today, is much more of a condemnation than a blessing for most people, and is a great responsibility that nobody can run from, regardless of race, because the Truth is found all over the world today. Even in the polluted Catholic Church, you can find what you need for Salvation and Grace The only way to get GOD to help you directly, iGOD's Favor, or Graces, is to be HUMBLE, and ask for HIS Help. You must turn from being a Chosen person who thinks they are in some ELECT, to becoming a child of GOD. "GOD is revealed to the simple and childlike (humble), and hidden from the learned and clever (prideful)." (MATTHEW 11:25) The Jews back then did not understand this difference, between being a child, and being a proud man who thinks he is saved merely because of his race or status. So we can exclude race as being a source of salvation for the Chosen People back then, because the vast majority had no interest in JESUS, even though it was very clear HE is the CHRIST, and so they chose the world over the SPIRIT. like almost all people do today as well "Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes." ROMANS 10:4 Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” ROMANS 10:13 Romans 11:2 "God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew" GOD does not reject anybody who turns to HIM, again, this would make HIM unjust Their hearts have been more hardened, but now all hearts are as hardened as their hearts were back then look around and see the incredibly hard hearts in all peoples of the Earth!!! Your heart being hard is your own choice of Satan over the TRUTH HIMSELF ,and now we are all Chosen people, whether Greek or Jew does not matter, and WE ARE ALL subject to the same curses and blessings that come with this title And individuals CHOSEN for Great things by GOD, the so called "ELECT" will always be Humble men, like Moses and Saint Peter are: Humility is the only key to being a chosen man of GOD, being a child of GOD, and making yourself small like a little child (Matthew 18:4 ) "The greatest in the Kingdom of heaven is the one who humbles himself and becomes like this child"
Paul's words are not to be trusted. Paul quotes extensively from Geek philosophers. But he has never quoted , not even a single sentence of Our Lord. Please read, " PAUL AND HIS USE OF GREEK PHILOSOPHY " in Internet. Many of his famous sentences, which we consider are WORDS OF GOD are really taken from the work of Greek philosophers. For example, " Kicks against the pricks " ( Acts 26 : 13 ) is taken from Bacchae of Euripides. Ref: Pagan influence in the writings of Paul - Internet.
*Any* predestination at all is Calvinist heresy; no matter what; it is only the individual man who decides where he goes, none in eternity have any say whatsoever will happen to us here in this life, the only life that matters... all predestination is the Calvinist predestination heresy, including in the bible, and thus the bible is heretical in its very nature- as it directly denies the truth that man's free will over himself automatically and always trumps God's designs for man; otherwise Hell'd be impossible, yet Christ warned to be wary, lest you happen to *choose* to go to Hell for all eternity, and that is directly contrary to any kind of predestination *or* to God's goodness, either way the bible is completely heretical at that point.

Good luck with trying to convince your buddy.

I see the Calvinist view of predestination as limiting and assuming God to be constrained by 'time' that He created.

AMEN, thank you.
The Holy Spirit revealed more in the word that comes out to Dr. Pitre.. How God annoint you such a Holy Wisdom..

Thanks for that. Very clear. But one question. If God predestines those who he knows will be justified what is the point of those who are not carrying on living and then presumable going to hell when they die, whatever hell is?
- Romans 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD will not impute sin.
Amen
Thank you
You literally post a video on the exact thing I just googled
I didn't get it. So, just some are called, justified, transformed, and then saved? Where does free will stand here? Is it not the case that we all shall be saved?
We have been freed from sin (Romans 6:18, 22) and yet are free to sin by choice (Romans 6: 1,15)
Where did Saint Paul discuss our free will? Was this in the video?
Make sense? Probably not hahaha I did my limited best.
i'm not alone then!

Something that is also interesting is how the development of our understanding of spacetime in science (especially Einstein’s theory of relativity) provides a glimmer of insight into understanding Eternity. Check out this excellent video explaining general relativity.
ua-cam.com/video/ZfR1Jc6Zglo/v-deo.html
The most significant thing demonstrated in this is that simultaneity is not absolute and arguably cannot even exist in spacetime.
Great 👍 thank you 🙏
How does the Catholic understanding of freewill and predestination tie in with the parable of the wedding banquet where the invites don't make it but the outcasts make it.
I never understood predestination before this video! Thank you so much! I love the explanation of justification!
Also note that the doctrine is "de Fide" [carved in stone]:
"§ 13. THE MYSTERY OF REPROBATION
1. CONCEPT AND REALITY OF REPROBATION:
By Reprobation is understood the eternal Resolve of God's Will to exclude certain rational creatures from eternal bliss.
GOD, BY AN ETERNAL RESOLVE OF HIS WILL, PREDESTINES CERTAIN MEN, ON ACCOUNT OF THEIR FORESEEN SINS TO ETERNAL REJECTION (De /fide.)
The reality of Reprobation is not formally defined, but it is the general teaching of the Church. The Synod of Valence (855) teaches: fatemur praedestinationcm impiorum ad mortem (D 322). It is declared in Mt. 25, 41 : Depart from me ye cursed into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels," and by Rom. 9, 22: "Vessels of wrath, fitted for destruction."
2. POSITIVE REPROBATION:
a) Heretical Predestinationism exists in various forms!
3. NEGATIVE REPROBATION:
In the question of Reprobation, the Thomist view favors not an absolute, but only a negative Reprobation.
4. PROPERTIES OF REPROBATION:
Like the Resolve of Predestination the Divine Resolve of Reprobation is immutable but, without special revelation, its incidence is unknown to men."
This is how I see predestination and freewill:-
God did not predestine WWIII.
Thanks Dr. Pitre. Wonderful and beautiful explanation... God bless you!
As a Catholic I knew this and felt awkward when he said it. I'm glad you explained it. God bless!
Hello all, important message for salvation:
In 1 corinthians 14:11, Paul said "If, then, I do not know the meaning of someone’s language, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and he is a foreigner to me." and it's the same thing for God, because The VERY IMPORTANT thing in Christ for us to produce good fruit according to the spirit of God is to first understand his language, because God has a specific language in his Word (the Bible). And if we don't know this God's language, we are foreigners to him.
To have the thought of God, we have to let the scriptures translate the scriptures, we Don't have to think by ourselves, This is the only right way. I give you an example:
The simple phrase "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son"
In our human thoughts we understand "God loves everyone, the whole planet", however, God hates sin and bible says "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world" (1 john 2:15).
But if we give the explanation letting the scriptures translate the scriptures it's clearer:
In Matthew 13:38 Jesus said " The field is the world"
In 1 corinthians 3:9 Paul told the disciples "you are God’s field"
We understand here that world God so loved is his disciples, that he has chosen and known in advance in order to become vases of blessing (romans 8:29)
That's why Paul said "the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world" (galatians 6:14), because all the disciples of Christ are crucified with Christ "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me" (galatians 2:20).
Kindly clarify: we the baptized, are ALL predestined for glory, and not just a few?

I wonder if Martin Luther had the duterocanonical books of the Old Testament removed from the bible, particularly the book of "Sirach" because of his teaching of the bondage of the the will?
I believe KJ bible had all 72 books , but were taken out in the early 1800's .
Venerable Mary of Agreda speaks of predestination in her writings also. Not the Calvinistic version though, of course.
I love this - thank you, Dr Pitre.
Wait, what about Judas and that verse that says God has mercy on who he has mercy??
What about them? I don't think he contradicted them here...
God bless. #narendraahirwar
@@biblestoryforchildrenbyrj1967 that response did not clear any of my doubts
And how can they reject grace when they are not given the grace to say yes...
God's free gift of abundant grace and the gracious gift of Jesus Christ result in justification and salvation
How can salvation be a totally free gift when the gospel urges us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling?
Not a "free gift" the word Free is not there in this letter
You must merit this by turning to GOD through the Catholic Church and eliminating sins
This is the only way to get Grace, which come from the HOLY GHOST within your Soul
No sinner gets any grace, as this would mean that JESUS did not need to die for our sins
Please read the full letter of Romans for proper context
@@henrybenjaminstoneking238 A gift is freely received and not paid for.
How about the concise version Dr. Verbose.

Maybe he wasn't meant to do so, but if he believed not everyone is predestined to Heaven, then he did...
Simple logic: Will a loving creator create you to be doomed? What kinda creator would He be then?
Here's is what happens:
God choses the best possible reality to happen that would result in most people to know God or to come to a position where their free will to be seeker or to not be a seeker would be revealed from the heart, and then God gives the Grace even if that man does not get to know God.

If the Hebrew God Yahweh is all powerful, all knowing, and has a Divine Plan set in motion then your future is already determined.
Keep in mind that the illusion of free will is part of the Divine Plan.
Example:
Before God created me
He planned on sending me to Hell to suffer and burn forever and ever because of his unconditional love for me.
Being able to see the future is not the same as predestination ...

This letter to the Romans is the source of so much distress in the world, not because of Paul, but because of rampant misuse of his words, which came from the HOLY GHOST HIMSELF
Calvin and the like purposely mistranslate this message pertaining to "works' as meaning Paul is talking about "good works" not being required for salvation, which is ridiculous-and has led to the horrible condition of the Church in the world today, and the loss of so many Souls, and entire countries, to the lies of Protestantism (predestination being a main one)
If some are predestined for salvation then this lessens the responsibility we ALL have in this relationship with GOD; and this leads to Souls giving up the fight before they ever start fighting at all.
If we do not do violence to ourselves, we will not make the KINGDOM of GOD (MATTHEW 11:12)
There are rampant mistranslations in Protestant bibles, especially concerning THIS LETTER, for reasons that are fairly obvious
such as "FREE GIFT" Romans 5 and 6----when there is no mention of FREE at all in the Greek text
In the Protestant Bible I am currently stuck using, and it is for the most part good, this mistranslation is included to lead souls astray, and to mislead Souls away from the message Paul is actually giving.
Please read the parable of the ten virgins which states this clearly
Anybody who does not have their lamp lit will be shut out, virgin or not. (Matthew 25)
There are no favorites to GOD, as this would make HIM unjust. If your lamp is lit, you go to Heaven, and if it is dark, you go to Hell.
There are Chosen people like Moses, and these servants will be subjected to a harsher judgment than the other "Chosen people".
"Those who are given much in trust, more will be expected." LUKE 12:48
it is always best to stay with JESUS, even when comparing HIM to Saint Paul.
NO SINNER GETS ANY GRACE, as Aquinas apparently taught, this is a HERESY
Grace comes from doing the work we need to live with the SPIRIT within our Soul, and sin is what makes the HOLY GHOST leave, so no sinner can attain HIM, while living in sin.
As Paul mentions in the letter, the "Builders" (Jews) have rejected the STONE, and it has become the cornerstone" (MATTHEW 21:12) and so the Jews are even more condemned than a gentile would be because:
"He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and on whomever it will fall, it will crush him." (MATTHEW 21; 44) and
Matthew 21:43
“Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit."
So JESUS is saying they are no longer the Chosen People in a sense, as they did not accept HIM as the CHRIST, the fulfillment of the Mosaic Law and all the Prophets.
"Unless you believe that I AM HE, you will die in your sins." JOHN 8:24
So really, there are no Chosen people per se, or LELECT, but only those who CHOOSE GOD with the Free Will that GOD gave us ("GOD wants nobody lost" 2 PETER 3:9)
Romans 9:18 "Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden."
Did GOD harden the hearts of the Jews more than a typical pagan man?
Yes. This is because they were given the gift of Truth, and then when they rejected it, there are very intense SPIRITUAL curses that will come with this rejection.
"Your house will be left to you desolate" MATTHEW 23:38
GOD does this automatically to all sinners, but even more to those who know the TRUTH
Today we see this in the "parable of the return of the unclean spirits",
when we learn the Truth and go back to our pagan ways, we become the house of more vicious demons than any of our pagan predecessors were. ((Matthew 12:44)
If you choose Satan as your master, after JESUS is sent to die for our sins; you open your door to the most vicious demons, and we clearly see this is true today.
So being a "Chosen Man" whether the Jews back then or Roman Catholic today, is much more of a condemnation than a blessing for most people,
and is a great responsibility that nobody can run from, regardless of race, because the Truth is found all over the world today.
Even in the polluted Catholic Church, you can find what you need for Salvation and Grace
The only way to get GOD to help you directly, iGOD's Favor, or Graces, is to be HUMBLE, and ask for HIS Help.
You must turn from being a Chosen person who thinks they are in some ELECT,
to becoming a child of GOD.
"GOD is revealed to the simple and childlike (humble), and hidden from the learned and clever (prideful)." (MATTHEW 11:25)
The Jews back then did not understand this difference, between being a child, and being a proud man who thinks he is saved merely because of his race or status.
So we can exclude race as being a source of salvation for the Chosen People back then,
because the vast majority had no interest in JESUS, even though it was very clear HE is the CHRIST,
and so they chose the world over the SPIRIT.
like almost all people do today as well
"Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes." ROMANS 10:4
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” ROMANS 10:13
Romans 11:2
"God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew"
GOD does not reject anybody who turns to HIM, again, this would make HIM unjust
Their hearts have been more hardened, but now all hearts are as hardened as their hearts were back then
look around and see the incredibly hard hearts in all peoples of the Earth!!!
Your heart being hard is your own choice of Satan over the TRUTH HIMSELF
,and now we are all Chosen people, whether Greek or Jew does not matter,
and WE ARE ALL subject to the same curses and blessings that come with this title
And individuals CHOSEN for Great things by GOD, the so called "ELECT" will always be Humble men, like Moses and Saint Peter are:
Humility is the only key to being a chosen man of GOD, being a child of GOD, and making yourself small like a little child
(Matthew 18:4 )
"The greatest in the Kingdom of heaven is the one who humbles himself and becomes like this child"
I have never heard anyone with the knowledge that Dr Pitre has that can link and explain like he dors66
