I think for me a simple way that I've been practicing not being ashamed of the cross, is by making the sign of the cross every time I'm on public transport-taxi, uber, or bike, especially. At the beginning of my trip, I cross myself and say a little prayer for safety no matter how short the distance. I learnt this from my best friend and I encourage everyone to do it. 🙏🏾❤️
I've caught myself being ashamed of the cross. When I went back to school 5 years ago, I started praying as I walked to school, but then due to the people and traffic, when it came time to make the sign of the cross, I found myself turning away so I wouldnt be seen, and worse making like I had an itch on my head, shoulders, and heart as if to disguise it! Then one day I finally realized I was ashamed, I was acting in fear, and that it was counter to everything I had been taught my whole life growing up in the church. I was disgusted with myself. From that day on, I resolved to have no fear, that in fact making the sign of the cross when others could see me protects me, and shows others that I am not afraid to love Jesus!!!

I was confirmed last year on June 7th,2023 when I was 18 years old now I’m 19 going on 20 best decision I have ever made since I had gotten baptized as a baby and made my first communion at age 9 I Got Baptized made my first communion and confirmed 9 years between each sacrament and now I’m a full member of the church ⛪️ since last year 🙌🏻. I Love ❤️ Jesus. I’m also doing the Bible and Catechism in a year with Father Mike just barely this year starting to read Bible more Praise the Lord 🙌🏻

Praise God! Fellow convert from Anglicanism (though wasn't practising), we're simply returning to the faith of our Fathers in its fullness. I pray often that others will convert from Anglicanism/protestantism, and of course atheism 🙏🏽❤️
67 years old and I am just beginning to realize my faith. I am struggling to be in as perfect step as any human being can be with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Little by little I learn and adore God. If I had ever been told so many things about the Catholic Church and my religion I have long forgotten them. I am a convert to the Faith. 3 years this Pentecost I was Confirmed. I love it!!! 🥰 was Jewish my whole life until I was baptized Baptist in 2009. I just really wish that I could’ve been baptized in the Catholic Church. I know it’s of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit but still I really wish that I could’ve been baptized in the church. ❤❤❤

Our church uses DVD’s with YOU in them! My husband is finishing his confirmation and it was fabulous seeing you! I told the Confirmation Leader all about your UA-cam channel and now the kids are watching it along with adults in the church! You just popped up in one of the DVD’s and I said ‘that’s Father Mike!’! It was rather humorous at the time because of my excitement. *Being Superman would be fun! 😂
That’s awesome. Grew up Catholic, but was never confirmed. 56 years old, and I’ve started praying the rosary. Did you do RCIA, and what’s that like? I was baptized as an infant, and went to catechism until I was about 12, so I don’t know how I’d go about getting confirmed.
@@EricT3769 yeah I ran away at 12 because of family issues. I went through RCIA, just Confirmed on May 2. It’s never too late. There was a woman in my class who was 68! God Bless you on your journey.
Oh and the RCIA experience was great. We watched The Search, the first episode is available on UA-cam. For me the experience was phenomenal. I wish you the best if you’re being called home.
So wonderfully stated!!! I cannot wait to show this to my son who will be Confirmed next year. We took this school year to take extra study time to prepare for his Conformation with Chosen by Ascension and it was so helpful. It's beautiful to see the Spiritual growth in your child. 💙💙💙

Honestly, just go. Find a local Catholic Church and go to a Sunday mass. Talk to the priest, go to confession , etc… I recently started going again and I wished I would have wen back sooner
I was lapsed for over 20 years. I would call your local parish. Just say you're a lapsed Catholic and want to come home but don't know how to start. Your parish will know what to do. Getting back into the faith will probably involve meeting up with your parish priest, the sacrament of reconciliation, and you might be offered or ask for an orientation so you'll know when Mass is, where to go for the sacraments and services your church offers, who to call for what. My experience of coming back involved reconciliation, returning to weekly Mass, attending RCIA and receiving Confirmation to complete my long delayed initiation. I was welcomed warmly back and drawn into the bosom of the church. Don't be afraid, don't worry. Jesus loves you.
You could go on an overnight or day retreat at a monastery or abbey, if that is possible for you. The quiet time is helpful. Schedule a meeting with a priest so you have plenty of time. I wish I would have gone to RCIA, it is absolutely available. I would if I did it over. I think you will find priests to be incredibly merciful.
Thank you for this video Father Mike, I just had my last class for my RCIA, I have been confirmed on this year's Easter Vigil mass and it's nice to see a video about confirmations, what timing indeed haha. It's true about the Holy Spirit strengthening our faith in Christ, before I used to be ashamed for no particular reason of doing the cross in front of others, somehow I believed in this lie that I am making others uncomfortable for showing appreciation and act of belief in my God, in Jesus Christ Himself. After I joined the RCIA program, I started to pray more boldly in public before I consume any meals, or even just a drive out to a nearby area to pick up groceries or visit a friend or to work, I would have this habit of praying to God to join me and it reminds me that God is always with me no matter what. I pray to continue this habit as it is still a struggle, I have become better than I was before and hope to continue growing in Christ's strength. I am 53 years old and was confirmed two weeks ago. I can testify personally that this is all true, although I hadn't seen it presented in such an inspiring and moving way until now. In two short weeks I have noticed a VERY significant shift in my life. I also put the time in to be there for and to listen and care for my relationship (for my evolving relationship with God, Jesus, and more recently Mary) in the same way I would for any relationship that I have for someone I love (i.e. my life companion or a parent or friend). Jesus I seek you everyday. Even when I feel like giving up I will keep faith. As a single mother. I’m struggling to make ends meet. My husband passed years ago. I have no one to turn to but you Lord JESUS. Both of my sons are special needs and require so much from me. Lord I’m afraid. I was confirmed when I was in 8th grade. I chose Saint Mark as my confirmation name. I went to Saint Rita's Catholic Church. I am now 47 years old and reading the Holy Bible more than ever. Thank you for teaching me Father Mike.
I felt happy when I was confirmed last month . . . but as for all the other effects, I don’t feel any of that, have suffered from depression ever since. 🤷🏽♀️
Do Bible in a Year or come Up with another daily practice like the rosary in order to spend more time with God. Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ. It’s not a gift that just makes you feel better; it’s a gift that gives you the ability to tell others about Jesus, and to serve your brothers and sisters in Christ. It is in giving that we receive.
Father Mike, during confirmation we stood in a line facing the congregation. I could see tall black figures standing behind many individuals and groups seated in front of me. I looked to the priest to see if he was seeing the same thing I was. He was off to the side baptizing a baby. It was darker all around him while light circled the baby and him. I understood that Jesus was being born again in the baby. I could tell the priest couldn’t see what I was seeing. A bible verse came into my head that “blessed are they who do not see but still believe.” I thought God must love him so much for working for Him without even seeing.
Hi Father Mike, you said, and it's totally how I viewed myself at confirmation. I was an adult in the eyes of the church! Also I loved that unlike my Godparents, I could pick my confirmation sponsor. Question. Why do some priest or friars when they read the bible or speak a sermon speak in low tone n monotoe which is very boring. Take the friars at ewtn everyone scts that way. You not a friar is anbexception
I used to think it was a hold over from our religion-ancestors. I thought it was to replace the bar mitzvah. We have to do a lot of study before we have our confirmation and so do the Jewish people and it is done at about the same age.
I grinned when Fr. Mike talks about how he wish he could fly like Superman in minute 7:20 - 7:38. That is quite apropos since, of all the priests that I listen to, he looks the closest to Superman. I sometimes feel like calling him Fr. Kal-El. 😉
Is there any reason why after confirmation very bad things happen leading to sin and distance from God? Like, all the opposite from what it should be / is said here.. Anyone can relate?
Similar for me. Confirmation was my high point in practicing the faith. Afterward the consolation of prayer vanished, and my temptations grew much worse. It was like grace departed.
Questions Father, why the Catholic Church separate the baptism and confirmation? Unlike the Eastern Orthodox do it all at once. Most of Catholics now don’t get to confirmation process because of kids fallen away from the faith and never gets to confirm, which very essential to our faith. kids needed guidance from the Holy Spirit now a days. what if never gets confirmed is that means the Holy Spirit is not in them? I'll have to go with the Bible on this: "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. "(2 Cor 11:3-4) None of this doctrine of Sacraments and Confirmation are biblical. Of course, you can twist the scriptures and add to them the teachings of special councils of men to make it bibilical..but if you're honest, it's still not the word of God and man should not make up their own doctrine. I was confirmed at 16 and felt a "special strength" and I soon became a staunch Hindu yogi for a few years. I witnessed a lot of miracles and joy after that. But the spirt realm is deceiving and so are our feelings!! It wasn't until I started to read the King James Bible (God's word in English with no copyright) that I became convicted of my own PRIDE in my good works, and I repented of them and laid them at the cross. I completely dropped all my religion and spiritual practices...and I completely trusted in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I did this by myself in a trailer home. No man with a costume had to touch me or sprinkle anything on me. Nope. Just the Holy Spirit entered into me, and I was born again on the spot. I pray all Catholics will repent of their vain religion and just simply trust the gospel that saves. I promise you, Jesus Christ is not in the RCC. It is a false Jesus and false spirit. I promise you...the devil destroys, yes, he destroys wonderfully. Be not deceived. Open up a King James Bible and read for yourself!
Ok so this happened to me about 1 week after me coming into the Church. My husband and I went to our previous church pastor to discuss some business we had going on with one of his members. After the pleasantries he said for us to say a word of prayer to start the discussion. I had grown so accustomed to having everyone saying " In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen." in unison when crossing ourselves that when he started praying instantly in my mind I said, what we'er not making the sign of the cross. Then I remembered their not Catholic and by that time he said amen. So i just sat there 🙁. I have never allowed myself to be caught off guard again. From the time I know prayers are going to be said I cross myself in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit no matter if no one else is Catholic...I am Catholic and very happy to be also😊❤
I have all those 5 gifts yet not baptised as a child in the catholic faith but rather. Been born in the Christian faith as an adult Born again in Lord on the 27th of May 2013, the. Baptised afterward in 2013 . I pray abba father and while singing to the Lord in 2015 with great joy saying you are my father to the Lord abba father with a joy that cannot be described. I am Never ashamed of the cross pray for my food at all time regardless who is around I speak about Christ and the cross to all for no man shall see the kingdom of heaven unless he sees the cross and belive that died for his sins and that you also died in him. I’m so saddened to say that I remember almost nothing from my confirmation, save for the fact I was indeed confirmed. I wasn’t religious at the time, I didn’t truly understand the significance (part of that might also be that the teachers at the Catholic school didn’t do such a great job of explaining it)… now that I’ve come back to the faith, I wish I could do it over again.

I was baptised at 6 months and went to catholic schools, but due to craziness I won't go into, did not get confirmed until I was 45. Now here is the odd thing: i could always speak of the mercy & forgiveness of God to those who did not know God, but to people of our faith who let's say forgot we have a God of love, the most I could say was that I would handle something differently. Once I was confirmed, I quite literally found my voice. Now, there are times I cannot shutup I want to get on the rooftop and scream, to the Catholics, "do you know what we have here? We,literally, have Jesus Christ here in our midst. Christ presemce in the Eucharist is real, and if we are not at least trying to live all aspects of our life in Christ. Well, that's our loss. For He is here.: The pettiness that sometimes goes on, the arguements that are causing division, have no place in the presence of God. Do you "radtrads" that want to duke it out with "novus ordo" folks? Have them have it out in front of the blessed sacrament and see how tough they are. USCCB catechism vs Baltamore cathechism? Figure it out with the Blessed Sacrament. This one point is non negotiable: Jesus is our creator and savior, foundation of the Church and the center of our lives. And this is coming from someone who wrestles with almost everything, not out of defiance, but out of wanting to understand. Downside, those horrendous desert times. But, ah well. SO, My point being, heck, confirm those kids at birth. Provide catechism as appropriate, but give them the wisdom and strength of the Holy Spirit as soon as possible. More than ever, we need it.
i feel like i need to re-do all the sacraments bc i was never trully aware of what they meant. i didn0t even read the bible or the catechism regularly. i didn't eve know Jesus back then, and I didn't even know i didn't know him!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was confirmed last sunday as an adult! But since the beginning of my "Faith-journey" I always wondered why I feel ashamed for my believe. Like, why is that?
I appreciate this look at what the Catechism says about Confirmation. I would agree that it's not quite the right wording to say young people who are confirmed have suddenly become "adults" in the Church. I think it's more precise to say that they have experienced the fullness of this sacrament of Christian maturity that enables them to participate in God's work. I remember being energized by a certain boldness after my Confirmation.
I feel like another powerful effect of the Sacrament of Confirmation, along with Baptism, is that it makes it much harder to leave tje faith. Even when I strayed far from the path and did not go to Church or rly live properly, I never left the Church for good and there was always something calling me back.
This is great! I got confirmed as an infant, so feel like I needed to hear this today. I pray to the Holy Spirit daily and ask for his advise and protection. Thank you Father Mike for explaining this to us.
I was confirmed as an 8th grader (26 years ago), but I don’t have any more wisdom than I did before receiving this sacrament. I’ve explicitly asked God for this wisdom, to help in my understanding of the Bible, yet that prayer continues to be ignored.
He is not ignoring you. Our God is a God that wants to see His children put forth effort. Ask yourself, what am I doing to gain wisdom? What am I doing to learn more about God, the Trinity, my faith? God answers all prayers in His time. Reflect on what you can be doing rather than waiting passively and impatiently to answer your prayer in your time.

Despite my best effort, understanding has yet to be achieved. You see, I’ve done all I can. At this point, the only way I’ll ever gain the understanding that I seek is with God’s help. Unfortunately, no such help has been provided. If I knew what else I could do, don’t you think I would be doing it? I (foolishly) keep coming here to ask for help, yet the only response I get is to continue doing what I’ve already been doing. It’s as if those who respond to my comments, you included, are, like God, deaf to my pleas for help. What sense does it make to continue doing something that doesn’t work?

I was recieved into the church this Easter vigil. I'm still getting lustful temptations, and I'm still giving in to them. So I'm going to confession often but I'm repeating the same sin. This is a problem I need to overcome. It's my biggest struggle, I think.
That's called scrupulosity. I'd say it's pride more than anything. Man up and humble yourself to Jesus. You have guilt because you choose to keep your guilt instead of giving it to Christ. That's on you brother, not the Church.

Honestly, just go. Find a local Catholic Church and go to a Sunday mass. Talk to the priest, go to confession , etc… I recently started going again and I wished I would have wen back sooner
I was lapsed for over 20 years. I would call your local parish. Just say you're a lapsed Catholic and want to come home but don't know how to start. Your parish will know what to do. Getting back into the faith will probably involve meeting up with your parish priest, the sacrament of reconciliation, and you might be offered or ask for an orientation so you'll know when Mass is, where to go for the sacraments and services your church offers, who to call for what.
My experience of coming back involved reconciliation, returning to weekly Mass, attending RCIA and receiving Confirmation to complete my long delayed initiation. I was welcomed warmly back and drawn into the bosom of the church. Don't be afraid, don't worry. Jesus loves you.

You could go on an overnight or day retreat at a monastery or abbey, if that is possible for you. The quiet time is helpful. Schedule a meeting with a priest so you have plenty of time. I wish I would have gone to RCIA, it is absolutely available. I would if I did it over. I think you will find priests to be incredibly merciful.
Thank you for this video Father Mike, I just had my last class for my RCIA, I have been confirmed on this year's Easter Vigil mass and it's nice to see a video about confirmations, what timing indeed haha. It's true about the Holy Spirit strengthening our faith in Christ, before I used to be ashamed for no particular reason of doing the cross in front of others, somehow I believed in this lie that I am making others uncomfortable for showing appreciation and act of belief in my God, in Jesus Christ Himself. After I joined the RCIA program, I started to pray more boldly in public before I consume any meals, or even just a drive out to a nearby area to pick up groceries or visit a friend or to work, I would have this habit of praying to God to join me and it reminds me that God is always with me no matter what. I pray to continue this habit as it is still a struggle, I have become better than I was before and hope to continue growing in Christ's strength. I am 53 years old and was confirmed two weeks ago. I can testify personally that this is all true, although I hadn't seen it presented in such an inspiring and moving way until now. In two short weeks I have noticed a VERY significant shift in my life. I also put the time in to be there for and to listen and care for my relationship (for my evolving relationship with God, Jesus, and more recently Mary) in the same way I would for any relationship that I have for someone I love (i.e. my life companion or a parent or friend). Jesus I seek you everyday. Even when I feel like giving up I will keep faith. As a single mother. I’m struggling to make ends meet. My husband passed years ago. I have no one to turn to but you Lord JESUS. Both of my sons are special needs and require so much from me. Lord I’m afraid. Up with another daily practice like the rosary in order to spend more time with God. Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ. It’s not a gift that just makes you feel better; it’s a gift that gives you the ability to tell others about Jesus, and to serve your brothers and sisters in Christ. It is in giving that we receive.
Father Mike, during confirmation we stood in a line facing the congregation. I could see tall black figures standing behind many individuals and groups seated in front of me. I looked to the priest to see if he was seeing the same thing I was. He was off to the side baptizing a baby. It was darker all around him while light circled the baby and him. I understood that Jesus was being born again in the baby. I could tell the priest couldn’t see what I was seeing. A bible verse came into my head that “blessed are they who do not see but still believe.” I thought God must love him so much for working for Him without even seeing.

I used to think it was a hold over from our religion-ancestors. I thought it was to replace the bar mitzvah. We have to do a lot of study before we have our confirmation and so do the Jewish people and it is done at about the same age.

Is there any reason why after confirmation very bad things happen leading to sin and distance from God? Like, all the opposite from what it should be / is said here.. Anyone can relate?
Similar for me. Confirmation was my high point in practicing the faith. Afterward the consolation of prayer vanished, and my temptations grew much worse. It was like grace departed.
So if someone doesn't get confirmed they don't get Holy Spirit.. Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist It was called Baptism not confirmation..

Questions Father, why the Catholic Church separate the baptism and confirmation? Unlike the Eastern Orthodox do it all at once. Most of Catholics now don’t get to confirmation process because of kids fallen away from the faith and never gets to confirm, which very essential to our faith. kids needed guidance from the Holy Spirit now a days. what if never gets confirmed is that means the Holy Spirit is not in them? I'll have to go with the Bible on this: "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. "(2 Cor 11:3-4) None of this doctrine of Sacraments and Confirmation are biblical. Of course, you can twist the scriptures and add to them the teachings of special councils of men to make it bibilical..but if you're honest, it's still not the word of God and man should not make up their own doctrine. I was confirmed at 16 and felt a "special strength" and I soon became a staunch Hindu yogi for a few years. I witnessed a lot of miracles and joy after that. But the spirt realm is deceiving and so are our feelings!! It wasn't until I started to read the King James Bible (God's word in English with no copyright) that I became convicted of my own PRIDE in my good works, and I repented of them and laid them at the cross. I completely dropped all my religion and spiritual practices...and I completely trusted in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I did this by myself in a trailer home. No man with a costume had to touch me or sprinkle anything on me. Nope. Just the Holy Spirit entered into me, and I was born again on the spot. I pray all Catholics will repent of their vain religion and just simply trust the gospel that saves. I promise you, Jesus Christ is not in the RCC. It is a false Jesus and false spirit. I promise you...the devil destroys, yes, he destroys wonderfully. Be not deceived. Open up a King James Bible and read for yourself!
Ok so this happened to me about 1 week after me coming into the Church. My husband and I went to our previous church pastor to discuss some business we had going on with one of his members. After the pleasantries he said for us to say a word of prayer to start the discussion. I had grown so accustomed to having everyone saying " In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen." in unison when crossing ourselves that when he started praying instantly in my mind I said, what we'er not making the sign of the cross. Then I remembered their not Catholic and by that time he said amen. So i just sat there 🙁. I have never allowed myself to be caught off guard again. From the time I know prayers are going to be said I cross myself in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit no matter if no one else is Catholic...I am Catholic and very happy to be also😊❤
How can someone with a chronic illness get a confirmation, if you cannot physically sit two hours, at the weekly classes my local parish offers?

I’m so saddened to say that I remember almost nothing from my confirmation, save for the fact I was indeed confirmed. I wasn’t religious at the time, I didn’t truly understand the significance (part of that might also be that the teachers at the Catholic school didn’t do such a great job of explaining it)… now that I’ve come back to the faith, I wish I could do it over again.

I was baptised at 6 months and went to catholic schools, but due to craziness I won't go into, did not get confirmed until I was 45. Now here is the odd thing: i could always speak of the mercy & forgiveness of God to those who did not know God, but to people of our faith who let's say forgot we have a God of love, the most I could say was that I would handle something differently. I want to get on the rooftop and scream, to the Catholics, "do you know what we have here? We,literally, have Jesus Christ here in our midst. Christ presemce in the Eucharist is real, and if we are not at least trying to live all aspects of our life in Christ. Well, that's our loss. For He is here.: The pettiness that sometimes goes on, the arguements that are causing division, have no place in the presence of God. Do you "radtrads" that want to duke it out with "novus ordo" folks? Have them have it out in front of the blessed sacrament and see how tough they are. USCCB catechism vs Baltamore cathechism? Figure it out with the Blessed Sacrament. This one point is non negotiable: Jesus is our creator and savior, foundation of the Church and the center of our lives. And this is coming from someone who wrestles with almost everything, not out of defiance, but out of wanting to understand. Downside, those horrendous desert times. But, ah well. SO, My point being, heck, confirm those kids at birth. Provide catechism as appropriate, but give them the wisdom and strength of the Holy Spirit as soon as possible. More than ever, we need it.
i feel like i need to re-do all the sacraments bc i was never trully aware of what they meant. i didn0t even read the bible or the catechism regularly. i didn't eve know Jesus back then, and I didn't even know i didn't know him!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was confirmed last sunday as an adult! But since the beginning of my "Faith-journey" I always wondered why I feel ashamed for my believe. Like, why is that?
I appreciate this look at what the Catechism says about Confirmation. I would agree that it's not quite the right wording to say young people who are confirmed have suddenly become "adults" in the Church. I think it's more precise to say that they have experienced the fullness of this sacrament of Christian maturity that enables them to participate in God's work. I remember being energized by a certain boldness after my Confirmation.
I feel like another powerful effect of the Sacrament of Confirmation, along with Baptism, is that it makes it much harder to leave tje faith. Even when I strayed far from the path and did not go to Church or rly live properly, I never left the Church for good and there was always something calling me back.

I was confirmed as an 8th grader (26 years ago), but I don’t have any more wisdom than I did before receiving this sacrament. I’ve explicitly asked God for this wisdom, to help in my understanding of the Bible, yet that prayer continues to be ignored.
He is not ignoring you. Our God is a God that wants to see His children put forth effort. Ask yourself, what am I doing to gain wisdom? What am I doing to learn more about God, the Trinity, my faith? God answers all prayers in His time. Reflect on what you can be doing rather than waiting passively and impatiently to answer your prayer in your time.

Despite my best effort, understanding has yet to be achieved. You see, I’ve done all I can. At this point, the only way I’ll ever gain the understanding that I seek is with God’s help. Unfortunately, no such help has been provided. If I knew what else I could do, don’t you think I would be doing it? I (foolishly) keep coming here to ask for help, yet the only response I get is to continue doing what I’ve already been doing. It’s as if those who respond to my comments, you included, are, like God, deaf to my pleas for help. What sense does it make to continue doing something that doesn’t work?

I was recieved into the church this Easter vigil.
I'm still getting lustful temptations, and I'm still giving in to them. So I'm going to confession often but I'm repeating the same sin. This is a problem I need to overcome. It's my biggest struggle, I think.

All I got from Confirmation was guilt, anxiety, and servile fear. Took awhile to manifest, but I definitely didn't have them before that.
That's called scrupulosity. I'd say it's pride more than anything. Man up and humble yourself to Jesus. You have guilt because you choose to keep your guilt instead of giving it to Christ. That's on you brother, not the Church.
@@Veritas1234 Being afraid of eternal conscious torment is pride? Neat. I try to give Jesus my guilt and despair in confession regularly. He doesn't take them.
@@leoncaruthers I was there too brother. Do you go to therapy? A priest told me to go to therapy as my penance and it changed my life.
@@Veritas1234 no, I'm not in any sort of therapy. There's no cure for existential dread at the knowledge that all the suffering of life is just followed not by mere cessation but is mere prelude to horrors unimaginable.
