Finding that rock transition really paid off for me last weekend, found some from the bank, fished the shoreline and bam 4 pounder! 2nd cast,Like your channel keep it up!
@@BassGeek I am a big fan of the owner deep throat hook on the 'dredge brush' and I dig the 'mata' for added live rubber. The baitfish skirts colors are so sick and are all made to pair with strike king plastics. I been dragging my brush jig at the local pond through i don't even know what 😂😂😂
I know ur video is Lay's gonna be good. On site..chk, gear review...chk, retrieve demo..chk and ur editing just gets better and better. Ur the best BG!!
I've been trying a jig but it seems like I only catch fish on a senko a couple on crankbaits and poppers and believe me I throw my tackle box at em first but have to fall back on the senko the spots I fish are beat to death bank fishing so area is limited I have a kayak bug normally don't have enough time to load unload load unload but I'm getting ready to head to the lake/pond for an hour before work
Another goodin! Just got me a couple of divine jigs to try, so much brush and wood bank fishin' round here I hope I don't lose em right off the bat. Damn tornadoes!
Thanks for the video Hank. Love that rod/reel combo!! Psycho Stick with an SX reel. Oh yea. Appreciate your knowledge and insight as usual. You rock buddy!
This is such knowledge Hank, and I love it ✊🙌 my father taught me in the 60’s about “soft craws” which is as they shed their shell, before the new shell grows and hardens. We used to go way out into the countryside to creeks loaded with crawfish 🦞 and seine them, then go fishing with soft craws 🎣 such a finesse lesson using 1/0 hooks and split shot weights….( there were not any plastic craws in those days) understanding nature of bass, and forage were my biggest lessons from my Dad 🙏💯 You have given information to “ teach a man to fish” 🎣🤷🏻♂️ Brilliant 🤩 Thank You 🙏 Brother 😎
Yeah buddy! I'm definitely gonna be giving this a try. Spent most yesterday and today finding scouting new areas, while fishing of course, and found some great new places with wood and rock. Thanks for the tips as always
I like the beaver in clear water. I should have said this in the video more action less skirt in stained and dirty water. Less action more skirt in clear water ,5ft or more.
I appreciate your videos especially the jig videos. Question: I fish mainly ponds with very little to no cover, im just looking at a pond, no trees, laydowns, nothing. I find success in fishing horizontal to the bank but how should i approach jig fishing these ponds with no structures or cover?
I just started playing with florocarbon. Everybody says it invisible. If this is the case I bump my line up to 20 lb. I figure if it’s invisible I can get away with it. I’m I missing something?
Try not to go too crazy with bumping your line size up because you still have diameter to consider. Line diameter can play a major role in the action of the bait as well as its depth.
@@jadeolin8514 Too bulky of a trailer can also become an issue, especially when throwing a heavier weight to work a bait faster to locate/eliminate water. Be versatile to dial in the bite.
When I was living down there I always did great tossing a green pumpkin, brown and a touch of brown with orange flake. I tied my own and did very well that time a year on all of the lakes in the area.
Jig’s are my jam dude I love ‘em but my wife absolutely whooped me an my son today with a shaky head garnished with a 6 sense divine shaky worm in June big red. She did awesome with 10+ all on the shaky head!
So after a year of watching your vids I literally just caught on to you saying tva. I live about 8 to 10 minutes from Bristol motor speedway this is more of a area specific question but are there any tips you have for fishing north East Tennessee lakes on a kayak or boat with no electronics. My home lake is south Holston and for whatever reason I can’t even catch a cold but drive 45 min away and pull in a few decent ones. Thanks for any input. Hopefully see you out there sometime if you’re ever in Bristol.
I do if I want more movement in the skirt. If you cut the skirt down you get more movement out of both the skirt and the trailer. In that ultra clear water I want less movement and more natural look.
Always great information thank You
Thank you.
Love the hatch explanation videos. Keep em up Hank
Thanks sir
Great discussion of craw dads!
Thanks man
Good information Mr Crawfish!
Thank you sir!
Super video!
Thanks VERY much.
Great info, I fish a jig a lot
It worked today
Great info my dude, you da man
Thanks very much
Thanks for those tips!!!👊🏻 Will be heading to a lake that is dropping their water level. Stay Safe & God Bless!!!
It's on!

You will kill'em up there.
Thanks again bassgeek you clearly explained again .
Thank you very much.
Top notch video Hank thanks bud! 👍
Thank you very much.
Great info as always Hank. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks I appreciate it!
You gotta check out the Siebert brush jigs around heavy wood cover. They are insanely good man. 🤙🤙🤙
I'm doing it right now!

Thank you! LOVE your support! Thank you so much.
Good job buddy! You know I love my jig, great info here!
I love them too.
Have been a fan for awhile. I loved your input on the Devo pod cast. Do not stop, stick to your guns!!
Thank you sooooooo much you don’t know how much that means
Excellent video brother...love that combo! 👊💪
Yes it is. That combo is awesome.

Thanks I've been trying more and still NO where near where I want the videos to be for sure. I'll get there.
i really liked the intro man, pretty rad!
hahahaha Thanks!
Thanks for that good info !
Going to Smith Mtn. This week and gonna jig
Oh jigs should be part of the equation for sure
I’ve been wanting to pick up jigs recently. Thanks much for these tips!
Worked today caught a good one and lost a good one
Really good insight BG! Thanks for sharing once again brother.
Thanks very much
Nice video. What's your home state?
I live right on the TN/VA line
@@BassGeek Been to kingsport before. TN/MS here.
Do you use a hydro wave? How/when do you use it?
I do and it's hit or miss. I use it a lot in the fall some when it's summer and they are schooled up out deep.
I've been trying a jig but it seems like I only catch fish on a senko a couple on crankbaits and poppers and believe me I throw my tackle box at em first but have to fall back on the senko the spots I fish are beat to death bank fishing so area is limited I have a kayak bug normally don't have enough time to load unload load unload but I'm getting ready to head to the lake/pond for an hour before work
Go to a smaller jig. 1/4oz or less. Don't use a trailer with a lot of movement and don't cut the skirt down.
@@BassGeek so dont cut the skirt ? Ok I'll give that a try I appreciate it
Ever cross dress your jigs? I mean black and blue craw on a green jig and so forth
Sure do
Another goodin! Just got me a couple of divine jigs to try, so much brush and wood bank fishin' round here I hope I don't lose em right off the bat. Damn tornadoes!
Now if your fishing from the bank go super light. 1/4 is a great starting point.
15lb test 📝
Yeah but like I said not around heavy cover. This setup is not for pitching and flipping.
Thanks for the video Hank. Love that rod/reel combo!! Psycho Stick with an SX reel. Oh yea. Appreciate your knowledge and insight as usual. You rock buddy!
Man that combo is out of this world.
Definitely gonna be trying out more on the jig this week, hopefully it produces!
It did for me today
What about my 8 lb test that never breaks?
Lol Send me that brand

Thank you and I hope you catch a bunch of toads!
What brand /size boat you have if you don't mind me asking?
Hank: how about a Beaver tail type trailer? That enough action?
I like the beaver in clear water. I should have said this in the video more action less skirt in stained and dirty water. Less action more skirt in clear water ,5ft or more.
Got to like the jig. One day, showing all of us what to do-you going to pull in a double digit .
That's tough around here but maybe!
I appreciate your videos especially the jig videos. Question: I fish mainly ponds with very little to no cover, im just looking at a pond, no trees, laydowns, nothing. I find success in fishing horizontal to the bank but how should i approach jig fishing these ponds with no structures or cover?
Small and light 1/4 would be great
I just started playing with florocarbon. Everybody says it invisible. If this is the case I bump my line up to 20 lb. I figure if it’s invisible I can get away with it. I’m I missing something?
Yeah it’s not invisible 100% But better than mono or braid

It can be a great time to toss the jig and that color is perfect.
"as im just throwing my rod around" - thats what she said... sorry hank, i had to hahah

I fish the heck out of SoHo. That lake is very tough during the summer. The best advice work humps and points but stay way back

Alot of times Jigs tipped with Orange come to play around here.
