    Love the under water stuff. Missile Baits D-bomb, D Stroyer, Zoom Speed craw, Super chunk, Z craw, Reaction Innovations Spicy Beaver, Kinky Beaver. Here are some more to think about testing. They are all popular at least around where I fish.

    Unofficially, I have experienced excellent action from ZMan baits. The craw claws always have a defensive appearance regardless whether on a bare hook or as a trailer. I’ll be interested in hearing your opinion at a later video.
    Thank you.

    Pool videos provide great educational and visual content. Great video breakdown. Future suggestions: chatterbaits, swimjigs, and perhaps a ned rig visual, or hoping lipless

    Just stumbled into this series and loved it. I definitely would appreciate seeing more on different bait families - various jerk bait styles and retrieves, square bills vs slat sides vs lipless vs etc crankbaits, vertical baits like blades/tail spinners/darters, etc, etc, etc. Love all the great info. I always suspected all the baits I throw don't act the same as they do right beside the boat where you can see them easily.

    I crush cold weather smallmouth with the berkely chigger craw on a football jig. I like to cut it really short into a chunk style. You're right about the claws being more subtle for cold weather. Also the netbait paca chunk, it's got similar claws.

    Super stoked for the stik bait trailer video..I fish them already, does a really nice job mimicking the baitfish in the creek I fish. I've been looking for one that floats. You should try the googan drag n drop on a finesse jig.. it has a nice subtle tail kick when swimming.

  • @TheWaymont

    Zoom Super Chunk is great too, in addition to the big chunk. I thread them both on the hook, and nose hook them. Threading it may not look nice to you in the pool, but man does it catch bass rigged that way.

  • @atthebrink74
    @atthebrink74 3 роки тому +4

    I’ve caught more big bass (over 6 pounds) on a jig with a sweet beaver trailer than anything else I’ve ever thrown. For shallow flipping I haven’t found anything better.

  • @manifestgtr
    @manifestgtr 2 роки тому

    The menace grub is one of my go-to trailers…I always have a million packs kickin around (along with Yamamoto paddle zakos for my swimjigs). The menace, paired up with a finesse jig is a KILLER summertime combination for me. The finesse jig is a smaller, less intimidating profile…but the menace gives it enough action to grab some attention. Unless things are getting really finessey and I want a chunk with muted action, the menace is almost always what I’ll start with…and many times, never need to put down.

      A zoom french fry or a lake fork ring fry makes an interesting trailer wacky rigged. It really slows it down and puts off lots off air bubbles. I would really like to see those in the comparison too. Its a pretty big profile but when they are on it they are really on it lol

    So I consider myself a good jig angler, from flippin to a football jig, especially a football jig. I've spent around 25 years trying to perfect it and have used many different trailers. The Netbait paca chunk, chunk sr, paca craw and paca slim. The claws are extremely buyoant and float up when resting. The profile which I feel is more important than action, on the paca chunk and chunk sr is excellent.

    The Menace absolutely kills it for me in the 55-70 degree range, although I always keep it on a chatterbait rather than a standard jig. TBH I probably get just as many bites on a regular jig but being able to lift the hammer and feel the thump (or not if there is a bite) helps me catch away more fish.

    Cool video fun to see these underwater. I'm interested in seeing a Culprit Incredicraw underwater. I think they look awesome and I'm very curious to see if their action matches how good they look. I'm also interested in seeing how the other Zoom chunk versions look. Curious if they each have a jig they work best on. Bonus is that they are quite cheap compared to other trailers. Thanks for the videos man!

    I'm a long time believer of the Guido bug (which is hard to find anymore) but Zoom makes a good flat bottom craw that works just like the original Guido bug (the Critter Craw).
    Also the Super Speed craw by Zoom gets bit really well for me. It doesn't really look that awesome looking down on it from above....but there's something about it that the fish here really like. I always bite 1/4 inch or so off the back end of it.

    I prefer the Pit Boss over the Sweet Beaver when using Texas rig due to the Beaver having a valley/slit on both sides making it hard to texpose the hook. The Havoc has a solid pad on one side making it easy to bury the hook point.

  • @renaudtheis1197

    Zoom chunks are awesome. I disagree with your threading the trailer opinion. I guess it has a lot to do with hook shaft size. I never tried the menace bait, do the legs come attached together? If so, what would happen if you kept them that way?

    According to your vid partner Randy, your rigging the Zoom Chunk upside down. He said that recently on the vid mistakes jig fisherman make. I'd like you to test that theory. I personally don't see how it would make much difference at all. I think the same bass would eat it either way.

      warren fromtheblock he says down. I don’t see how it would make a difference until I see it underwater. I rig the other way because I think it looks more like a crawdads body. The pincher arms are below the body of crawdads
